August 28th - National Power Rangers Day
 

In observance of the franchise's 25th anniversary Hasbro has officially declared that August 28th will henceforth be known as National Power Rangers Day.

This bodes well for some interesting news that day.

When Hasbro does marketing moves like this, it's usually for hype reasons to create a solid day for announcements and other bits of special material.

Well that’s, shall we say...Morphenominal.

We have achieved total brand awareness.

Did you know? The official meal for this day is the bulkwich. Oh, and every meal time is a FOOOOD FIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHTTTTT!!!!!

Wait do we also spray each other with mayo?

Now we need a new Pudgy Pig figure for when the new toyline is released, complete with giant fork and knife accessories.

This is awesome!

WELL, we are halfway there with the Funko Pudgy Pig, but yeah I'd strangely love a Pudgy Pig figure. He was one of my favorite MMPR monsters.

Kind of surprised Haim Saban never thought to get in on this sort of promotion.

Cause it's timing sensitive. Really only works on key anniversary moments to start it, and needs the backing of wide material.

With Hasbro being both a toy company and entertainment company they can inhouse sync the info and marketing.

Whereas Saban would have had to balance more with Bandai. Barely had the rights back long enough to do something like this for the 20th to coordinate it, and overall it works better to start it on the 25th anniversary.

If it wasn't sold to Hasbro, they likely would have looked into doing this for this year too as a starting point.
