Episode 13 French Title: A prepared Power Ranger is worth two
French Description: While Sarah has successfully completed the first part of the math check, she prefers to go to the movies rather than revising for the second part. At the same time, Mrs. Odius sends Brax, one of her best elements, to fight the Power Rangers.

Episode 14 French Title: A New Ally
French Description: Mrs. Odius asks Sheriff Skyfire to fight the Rangers who stole the Prism Nexus. The Sheriff realizes that she has lied to him and decides, as an officer of the space police, to fight alongside the Rangers.

That sound you hear in the distance is literally me sobbing. Why must you ruin what I love Power Rangers??

really, i expect better from an admin than whining like a baby would when someone else gets to play with their toys. they didn't even HAVE to adapt this episode, they're doing this entirely to throw a bone to YOU GUYS, and you act like entitled brats.

I'm happy about Jiraiya being in Power Rangers.

Hit the nail right on the head for me. It's not that some of us didn't WANT the Metal Heroes to be adapted into Power Rangers, we just didn't want the season for them to be adapted into to be Ninja Steel.

If we're using Sentai footage there isn't a lot to go with though. There was Gavan / Gokaiger (assuming they could get movie footage) which would probably have been horrible in Super Megaforce. There is also Gavan / Kyuranger which could still happen in the future.

There's a two parter of Gavan / Go-Busters, we could see that in Beast Morphers.

This is already an adaptation of Ninninger, and basically everyone besides me hates that show even though its mostly just really average (much like Ninja Steel actually). So I'm not entirely sure where you want Jiraiya to show up with good writing. Keep in mind the episode this is based on is a farcical "respect yer elders" message where Jiraiya spends most of the episode stuck to Takamaru's back.

And yeah they didn't actually have to use this episode at all, they could have filled it out with the Dracula or Yuki-onna episodes, which didn't actually have to be skipped at all. This is entirely a shout out to the people who like Japanese Toku, they are going above and beyond to do this.

People will still care about if it gets written well or not, which they aren't confident about. This is like saying "Oh, you wanted a game to tie the plot of Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion together but hated Other M? They did it for you, don't whine!". Granted my example was something people didn't hate until after it came out. People just aren't confident something they like will be handled well, if this was adapting Drive I'd be incredibly worried too

Main thing is that you shouldn't whine about it like its the end of the world, even if it does end up bad. Its not like Jiraiya being in Ninja Steel automatically ruins Jiraiya somehow. That is a big difference in your comparison, as for a while Other M was just a plain embarrassment that actively tried to undo things that fans liked, and pretended that a trilogy of fan favorite games didn't exist. This "ruins" Jiraiya in the same way that every use of a suit does in Power Rangers, if its dumb and bad we can make fun of it later, but Jiraiya is still Jiraiya.

What DOES ruin Jiraiya is not having a proper DVD release, and as such no subs to watch. That's probably more worth being upset over.

Power Rangers has legacy. Space Sherrif Skyfire is unproven, and will likely only get one shot to prove itself towards audiences. If it isn't well received, then that's it. No more Sekai Ninja Jiraiya. Discotek or whoever else wants to try and pick up Metal Heroes can look at that and go "Hmm, unlike Juspion (Brazil loved it), Metalder, B Fighter Kabuto, etc., this failed to leave even a small impression on people in the States, it'd be a waste of money to make a deal with Toei for it" because that's how business works

With that statement you're implying that that a potential Jiraiya release would be marketed entirely around "that one guy that showed up in ninja steel", which is absolutely ridiculous.

And besides that, as I mentioned, there are no actual quality DVD releases of Jiraiya, and you'd be joking if you said that they would come out in the US before they did in Japan. If that does happen, then it'll be in like 7 years and nobody will care about Ninja Steel anymore. What you're saying is, quite frankly, completely ridiculous.

Except that you're misunderstanding what I mean by that, it's not that a potential Jiraiya release would get marketed as "HEY THAT GUY FROM NINJA STEEL" but rather that the Ninja Steel episode gets looked back on to see how the reception was, were people interested? Did people think "Hey, I'd like to see more!"? Or did they not care or hate him? That's how business rolls in that manner, especially as there's a chance the reason they're adapting the episode is to try and get Metal Heroes to become a thing as the upcoming Beast Morphers is Go Busters, which had 2 Gavan episodes in them

That's... not really how that works? Mostly in regards to these toku releases, I mean. If a Jiraiya release ever happens, then it will be aimed at the people who actually know who Jiraiya is. There's a reason why the Sentai DVDs are so expensive, because they expect low sales because the market is very, very small in North America.

And again that is IF Jiraiya ever gets a DVD release. Again, if a release would happen, it would be years after a release of Jiraiya on DVD in Japan, which is not looking likely to happen, even with the cameo in Ninninger. Actually now that I think about it everything you said can also be applied directly to the original episode, and even more accurately.

Anyway, the only thing I'm seeing here is purism and whining about like, literal children seeing Jiraiya on TV and not going "Oh my god its that obscure character from a dead franchise that aired during the 80s". This kind of thing is a major problem in this community as a whole, and you ain't helping with my opinion on that like this.

This has gotten horrendously divisive! Let's note some pecking points and move on...

- Was the Jiraiya cameo in Ninninger a glut on that series and its endless cameos that didn't seem to matter? Yes!

- Does the Jiraiya cameo have some potential in P.R., even at the lowest level? Yes!

- Does making an obvious Earth Ninja a "Space Police" member seem TOTALLY WEIRD, even though P.R. has taken Earth-elements and made them a part of SPACE since the start of the franchise 25 yrs. ago? Yes!

- Does calling the guy "Sheriff Skyfire" remind someone of Skyfire/Jetfire from OG Transformers (1984)? Yes!

- Will this upcoming episode be a notable pecking point for the fandom? Yes!

- Is it possible that Skyfire will be as a good an arc as Princess Viera (who isn't the worst character in Ninja Steel and actually had a good concept behind her)? It's possible!

- If Skyfire is mishandled, could Hasbro revisit the character later and situate him in a different light that is easier for the P.R. fandom to stomach? Yes!

- Does having Metal Heroes in P.R. offer a plethora of possibilities? Yes!

- A Jiraiya Metal Hero Key was used by the Gokaiger in Super Hero Taisen Z! If a "Super Megaforce Returns" were ever done, could we at least have new footage that acknowledges this by having "Legendary Space Police Mode: Sheriff Skyfire"!? Best answer: "Super Megaforce Returns" would have to break new ground to keep itself interesting, and Skyfire is only part of that newer ground!

- Does this give us hope that Gavan, Sharivan, and Shaider could become part of the P.R. mythology? Yes!

- If Shaider does indeed become part of the P.R. Multiverse, should such a character be connected in some way to VR Troopers? Yes, especially since VR is available on disk and Netflix!

- Could a new inclusion of Shaider literally be Ryan from VR? You decide!

- Should Shaider be adapted instead as someone different who carries a similar form to Ryan, possibly being a ret-con to why Ryan's second form was Shaider to begin with? You decide!

- Will I watch the episode regardless and judge whether there is merit after I see "Sheriff Skyfire"? That is the plan!

- If Sheriff Skyfire is a decent character and a worthy inclusion, should Hasbro release a Skyfire figure in the future? Yes, unless Bandai has a few surprises left in store!

- If a P.R./Transformers crossover were to ever happen, should Sheriff Skyfire and Autobot Jetfire comment on each other and hit the literally joke that everyone is thinking of on its head? Most definitely!

- Will bad writing ruin Skyfire? Refer to earlier comments regarding ret-cons and Hasbro re-situating mishandled characters!

- If there are less-than-obvious Ninja-themes for a character originally envisioned as a Ninja and not "Space Police", could Skyfire return in a Hasbro Season and "learn the ways of the Ninja"? Refer to earlier comments regarding ret-cons and Hasbro re-situating mishandled characters!

- Have most of the remarks here gotten toxic when they should be elated at the possibilities regardless of the perceived reality? The fact that I have say something on that at this stage should tell you something!

Addendum:

-If Shaider, and possibly VR Troopers, are added to the PR Multiverse canon, should Brad Hawkins come back and reprise Ryan Steele? HELL YEAH!!!

Maybe he's a (excuse the term) space sheriff as a kind of backdoor pilot for using more metal hero footage later, as most of the Sentai cross-over stuff was with proper Space Sheriffs?

It's an interesting theory, especially since there is only so much Metal Heroes stuff to use!

Gokaiger kicked-off the Metal Hero Revival with Gavan, but that isn't usable (at least right now anyway)!

Since we haven't even seen Beast Morphers yet, then we can't even think about Super Hero Taisen Z!

Gavan and Dekaranger would be the next viable option, but that would take either A): Getting New Actors for an older Ranger Team, B): Getting Veteran Ranger Actors, or C): Using Super Megaforce "Legendary Ranger Mode: S.P.D." to cover!

"Space Squad" isn't usable either because Kyuranger isn't in play in P.R. yet!

The Gavan Movie, and the "Next Generation" Movies for Sharivan and Shaider are too random to use right now! Even if adapted, obligatory new footage would need an obvious P.R. imprint!

Using Jiraiya now allows for such a backdoor possibility that could excuse using Gavan's crossover with Go-Busters when Beast Morphers is finally released!

The fandom can complain if they choose, but you occasionally have to do it wrong to learn how to do it right!

Sheriff Skyfire could also be used by Hasbro as the kick-off for a whole new Tokusatsu-in-the-West franchise: "Sheriff Skyfire: The Animated Series" or "Sheriff Skyfire: The Graphic Novel"! Adding in additional Metal Heroes stuff could be used to compensate!

Go-Busters had a 2 parter with Gavan.

Fascinating and not tremendously surprising!

Using Dino Charge Villains isn't a dumb move, but it is an obvious one!

It could allow Ninja Steel to capitalize on the success of Dino Charge, while keeping Snide and Sledge relevant in the P.R. Multiverse and used repeatedly as recurring villains/comedic relief!

It's possible Sledge will return again in Beast Morphers, wandering around the universe for opportunities!

Given my previous remarks on Jiraiya and Metal Heroes, perhaps the use of "Sheriff Skyfire" could be the start of something interesting with a "Space Police are on the hunt for Dimension-hopping Bounty Hunter Sledge" type of stories!

Hence the backdoor possibility that I was commenting on!

Using Jiraiya as the start of the "Space Police" concept allows for Gavan to be used when Beast Morphers is released! After which, the other Movies are more viable and an example of how far Hasbro may take things!

I did imply this, but I might not have gone into enough detail!
