Unless it somehow found a way to include the uncut Japanese with subtitles, it's not worth $80.
Oh, and What the heck is New Video Group?! Are we sure this is offical? |
I actually don't want the Japanese audio on something like Digimon. I really enjoyed the US version for what it was :o

Anyway, Adventure, Adventure 02, Frontier, Savers/Data Squad, and Xros could all jump off a cliff. The only Digimon series I liked was Tamers. |

Simply put: I want both. The English voices are for the most part are great. BUT...Saban butcher the soundtrack to every anime they touched (even when they didn't have to!) and force fed lame one liners everywhere. Personally, I want the original cast to be brought back to do a proper dubbing, but that's a pipe dream at best. Again, this is mostly directed at Tamers because it's so good that it deserves an uncut proper release. PS I don't care if they leave the name changes though due to those changes being minimal. (It's a personal thing. I just don't like the name "Ruki") Anyway, Tamers does deserve a DVD release. A (Semi) serious Digimon series that had the characters face repercussions for their actions, actually called out on their stupid decisions, taking place in the real world (For a good chunk), actual feelings of tension in fights (The "Digimon can't die" mentality removed due to the introduction of data absorption), the cards giving neat effects (And not pointlessly tacked on, like the D-Tectors in 02), and the only (Non dub related) misstep being Tamer Ryo's inclusion. Yeah, I'd easily pick up a DVD of that ^^ It's also one of the only seasons to not succumb to the "Power duo" that Digimon is basically infamous for (By the halfway point, only allowing 2 characters to become strong enough to even matter in a fight beyond "Distraction" or "Meatshield."). Though, to be fair to both Adventures, Frontier was the worst about it (Requiring the other powers just to evolve? I think Lowemon/Koichi (Spirit of Darkness) was in a whopping 2 fights? :I) |
If I can find this DVD I'm buying it. Loved Digimon when it was on Fox and I didn't miss too much to Fronter/season 4.
