One of my favorite episodes so far. We learned a little more about Zamigo's power and Destra is a drunk mess.
|
So it's been confirmed that the Lupins loved ones aren't dead and will be back to normal when Zamigo is defeated. So does that mean they'll collect the lupin collection out of obligation or to help Noel.
|
Considering that they still need to beat Zamigo, who was able to out predict Super Lupin Red, it wouldn't hurt to keep with their original goal to collect all the pieces to get the wish.
|
Gotta say, not a fan of them changing the death of their loved ones into "being kidnapped via ice block".

If the loved ones still alive where are they now ? Inside Kogure's book ? Become Slave in Gangler World ? Hell,Maybe Zamigo already kill them and sell skin body to another gangler. |
We got Zamigo ! We got plot advancement ! Yeeha plot ! It was interesting that Noel didn't know anything about Zamigo.
But wait, there's only a dozen episodes left, better use them to wrap th... never mind, next week is wedding episode ^^'. |

It's not the first time toku nowadays did a last minute cop out and make the shows less dark. It's like dragonball revival shonen plot armor. Zamigo isn't the best villain, but it's the most unique and interesting one. I really prefer they stop the filler and go all out for a continuous arc revolving zamigo. I guess we'll focus on destra first. The boss is probably going to pull out a last minute one liner twist in the finale that he's Arsene Lupin just like how Zyuoh big bad is made out of foot soldier. Honestly, zyuohger gotten more plot despite they did the same thing to bird. It's the same writer, right? I think toku shouldn't hired bad writers like ninninger for Zio especially when it's an anniversary series. The head writer should go to a toku vet like kobayashi, but I guess after decade, no one want to take the blame. Anyway, it's one of the best episode to date for Lupin featuring Pat. Honestly, they're still teasing and holding back on the lupin's Identity reveal. Zamigo probably need to upgrade himself by implanting some collection pieces in his two safes. Oh, I almost forgot about the thin plot thread about kogure and X. If this was written by a plot thriven writer then episode like this one and the kogure's one would of happen like 20 episodes ago. Zamigo would of been finished off in this episode when red receive his upgrade. It might have been a revenge episode where the lupin accept their love ones death and move on to collect the collections to either bring them back or prevent ganglers from doing more harm to people. Lupin is doing what PR is doing nowadays by turning the show in to filler commercial with colorful actions instead of plot. Except the veichle pretending to be arm swap gimmick are weak in designs. Having Goody as a sentient mascot doesn't help either. However, character development for lupin is solid and on point. |
I've seen some people say that the lupins should just go after Zamigo and forget collecting other pieces, but I'm predicting that the lupins will need Kogure to give up pieces that they have already collected to be used by both teams to beat Zamigo and Dogranio. Dogranio whooped on a couple of pats without any effort earlier in the season and he's mostly been a mystery so far, but if he's the boss, then I'm sure he's got to be the most powerful one of them all and won't go down easily.

Or they'll just go the KyuRyuger route and vaporize all the larger baddies in one massive shot before getting to the real villain. Madame Gauche. Or so I can hope.

Warning, I'm about to go on a massive rant here:
Haven't actually seen this episode yet because there was no download video link on Over-Time but going what's been said here and on Youtube... oh dear, are they really so content to not develop their characters for the sole reason that you should be able to jump into any episode at any time and still have an idea as to what is going on? Because that is what I feel like is going on here, kind of like how an episode of the Simpsons always ends with the events of the episode being reversed and everything going back to like it was or any show with the TV Trope of StatusQuoIsGod. I get why shows do this, to allow anyone to jump into the show at any time but do we REALLY need to do this with a series that lasts an entire year? I get the feeling that the viewing figures and toy sales have thrown the development of this series WAY off track. The Lupinrangers are more popular but that's mainly because they were WRITTEN to be more popular, the writers went out of their way to make the Patrangers dull and boring because "Japan doesn't like police" or something. Oh and because they cast a popular idol as LupinYellow. The consequence is that the Lupinranger toys sell far more than the Patrangers so Bandai decides to go all in and give absolutely everything to the Lupinrangers including stuff that was originally planned for the Patrangers and screw up their own pre-programmed sounds in their own initial toy. What a shame, this show could have been something really good... but they screwed it all up by focusing heavily on one team over the other and retconning itself in an attempt to appeal to the audience and make the more popular team likeable, but by doing so have completely contradicted intended plot points which was supposed to happen. Combined with the show being VERY afraid of any kind of character development whatsoever but still having intended points that are supposed to happen and this is how NOT to write a series. |

The strongest point of the show from the beginming has been it's characters, and even if key plot episodes are stretched somewhat far apart, just about everyone has had moments to shine. Heck, the continuing development betweem Kairi and Keichiro in particular has been the focus for a long while. Sure, the focus is far from equal for all seven, but calling the show 'afraid' of character development is nonsense. |
Honestly this show is starting to lose me a little cause there's 10 episodes left. And we're STILL getting filler. I'm starting to think there's a problem with the writing team because there's loose ends and plotpoints that REALLY should have been settled earlier. There's not a problem with filler episodes in these shows unlike anime adapted from manga because the filler can be used to show more of the characters interacting with eachother and developing them without needing high stakes. But there's nothing we haven't seen before here, it's still the Lupins doing stuff while the pats barely get to even appear. This show was so promising early on too, where's the filler episode of Sakuya interacting with Kairi to show their relationship? Or Tsukasa and Touma? Those two never really interacted. Or Keichiro with Touma? We can get relationships built up but we aren't getting as much as we should
On a side note, Super Lupin Red is a pretty cool upgrade |

The most pathetic boss in sentai. At least Genie did more and was playing with his underlings, but they got to give a last minute twist at the end for him to say. Probably the same with the mafia boss, who I don't even remember his name will probably give a arsene lupin or some ass pull one liner twist in the finale if the head writer is trying to pull this stunt a second time in a row in his writing career,
