I love how Preston just looks confused when Sledge shows up. You can just hear him thinking “who the heck is this guy?”
|
Ok calling it now: They’re establishing the Multiverse in the shows.
This is just the start and Beast Morphers will pick up on it and add to it. |

Viewing every crossover together, the message seems to be that almost every series is in the same universe and any which plot-wise can't be are in a parrel universe that can be reached.
I guess it would be neat if the next crossover called back to this. Maybe Beast Morphers will be another alternate universe and we could get Ninja Steel Vs Beast Morphers? The Prism just popping in for a second and leaving again is unintentionally hilarious. Surely it would be easier to just have them keep their powers. |

Love the Time Force thing again. Very cool to see Wes.
May be will find out in this one if Tommy & Kate are married? And is J.J. Kates son? |
I still really like Sledge.

Though no clue on the Beast Morphers crossover, but more cross dimensional stuff is likely planned for later series. And I think that's meant to be comedic. |

Multiple dimensions does open multiple world potential. Think more like Flash or Star Trek. :D Multiple earths, and A mirror Darkly. |

- Alternate Story where the Armada conquered Earth, and Troy is vaporized! - "More-Crazy-But-Still-Layered" Alternate Troy VS. "More-Wooden-Than-The-Actual-Actor" Actual Troy! Maybe one day they will actually showcase that Super Sentai and P.R. are alternate dimensions which have never been formally connected as belonging to a single Multiverse (until someone thinks about it and drafts a story around the premise)! And before anyone says anything, Akibaranger doesn't count here! |
What’s with all the Megaforce hate?! Have you even heard the good word about Power Rangers (Super) Megaforce?!

That said, with this episode, good freaking riddance Neo-Saban! Not gonna miss you one bit. Except Tommy's Master Morpher, despite disliking Tommy. |

But too little too late now. But maybe when they get to Kyu's footage, they'll figure something out for cross dimensional stuff. Would love to see some kind of super sentai actual crossover, or some kind of dual episode from both sides. Where we see the Super Sentai side in the Japanese version, and the US side in the Power Rangers episode of the crossover. Like the Deka/Kyu crossover in a way. Or more hidden in the background of either side. So it's a background cameo comedic of them trying not to get noticed by the Rangers of that world. And we see their perspective of the episode in the Toei version. That is the one thing that irks me about SMF. The gokai galleon should be a space pirate ship that's cross dimensional like the Travelion. Would allow for so much more interesting material in later usage. And then when the series ends, have it end on a similar BoukenRed note of him traveling the vastness of the multiverse or something with a partner or few. So it's a better mix of "in Space", ending on a note of how Andros entered the turbo rangers lives. So it parallels better to classic. Little tweaks like that could have really pushed it over the edge into much better areas. But what can you do. It is what it is now. It always felt like a waste of what they did to Gokai though. It was such a big chance for that "in space" kind of rebirth using a Harlock twist. |
We going off topic guys if you want talk boy megaforce and super mega take it to general power ranger discussion thread. Let’s get back to topic of thread whitch is Christmas special

Getting back to topic, this was FINE, but not much else!
No explanation for the absence of Fury or Curio (the ACTUAL versions should have survived the Black Hole)! Poisandra noted the whole "they love you and then they blow you up"! Irony for later! Too much clippy-ness with the "get Poisy MAD by remembering love issues"! Monster Audience aboard the ship seems to appear, disappear, and re-appear at will! Ship blown up with audience, ship repaired with audience. The Brothers finally interact, but it feels underwhelming! Humans shouldn't exist in the past WITH dinosaurs, but Koda has a T-Rex friend! Incidentally, the Rex is called "Kruya", which sounds like an attempt at simplifying "Kyoryu"! Snow Fright is defeated using Sentai footage, with Yellow and Pink and Red, and Yellow takes the lead in the Cockpit scenes in a probable attempt to match with the Sentai footage the episode is based on! Santa saves the crew, and helps Koda echo Keeper, by planting another bomb! Wrench thinks it's a gift for Poisandra, but Sledge didn't plan it. Refer to earlier irony! Isn't Santa played by the same guy who did Fresno Bob in RPM? Guess Mr. Holly, Jolly found his inner gangster when he helped Koda! Santa helped destroy Sledge! Honestly, I hope Sledge survives this too! It seems as though Sledge or some version of him is repeatedly blown up just so the show has some resolution, so maybe this wasn't as conclusive as it seemed! Either way, what happened to Sledge's actual ship!? While he name-dropped Vivix and the Magna Beam, he didn't use them! It's a lackluster ending for Saban! This summed up the Neo-Saban Era in a nutshell: Lot of promise which tends to come up short in execution! Love him or hate him (and a LOT of people have a LOT of reasons to dislike him), Saban started this franchise and is responsible for a lot of childhoods! Thanks "old friend"! Go Hasbro!!! |
