Geiz is now determine to stop the King of Time even if it means Sougo's death. But plans are disrupted by a passing-through Another Rider...

This episode was pretty good. We got some nice Decade and Another Ghost fights. Not to mention that twist at the end.

Next episode, we're getting Decade Armor. And a four-way Mazine fight.

So hyped to see how decade's arc turns out. Can't wait to rewatch this with subs so i can understand more than just "decade's with the bad guys".

Great start to the Ghost arc. The story behind Another Ghost is very unique and I am excited to see how they will defeat him without killing the host. Takeru, Narita and Shibuya got fairly big roles and we returned to a lot of classic Ghost sets in the Tenkuji manor (though it did feel a little odd without Onari) so it definitely felt like a faithful tribute to Ghost.

As for Decade, I love that they are portraying him as more powerful than either Sougo or Geiz. It's pretty awesome to see the Agito and Hibiki suits absolutely WIPING the floor with current Riders. I'm also really glad to see a Rider alumni actually return with their power intact. It just makes it all the more special. And it looks like we're getting Ghost and Specter next episode as well, so I'm very excited to see that. Tsukasa didn't use any phase 2 Rider forms yet so I am guessing they were planning on saving that surprise for next week (looks like he assumes Ghost's form). I'm intrigued as to why he is working with the Time Jacker's, and how Woz even knows him in the first place.

The .5 episode this time dealt with Takeru explaining how the "ghostly" special effects won't deflate budget because they aren't hard to pull off. But it quickly becomes a Q/A with him about whether or not Drive will return like he did, and Sougo mistaking the plot of Ghost with Dragon Ball. Another beauty. Honestly I wouldn't mind if they made a full-length anniversary series in the vein of these spin-offs.

Is downgraded to vcinemas. Beast did regain his powers temporarily in present day, but this one feel less of a cameo and Easter egg.

Any idea why Decade stays Agito for most of the time? My guess it's because Agito is Takaiwa's first main Rider role, so they wanna pay tribute to that.

As powerful as the time jackers are, I don't get why they won't interfere more. They even voluntarily let decade fight for them. Is their plan to have a puppet ruler like Another Ghost? A lot of questions being suspended because of the other mess in the series. This is one of the better episode and Ghost did something like Faiz in present. Decade got better at voice acting. Even Emu deepen his voice as a toku veteran alumni during henshin.

Not understanding japanese is frustrating, but I watched it anyway.
I'm also surprised that Tsukasa stayed in the Agito suit for so long.
Is he only fighting Sougo to test him though? He doesn't seem to really be on the Time Jacker's side.
I wonder what's gonna happen and I can't wait to watch it with subs....

It's Decade. He's pretended to be working for villains twice already (3 if you wanna count All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, although that was really him remembering his past and accepting it before he was betrayed and learn the error of his ways). So it's clear he has an ulterior motive that'll help Sougo in the end.

Did Sougo confuse Decade's Hibiki form for an Another Rider? Lol

Pretty damn good episode from what I could understand. I'm interested in Tsukasa's motives but I'm fearful that anything he has to say is going to be inconsequential to the overall plot. I feel like he's more than likely only here to give Sougo the Decade ride watch and some encouraging words like all of our other returning riders.

I'm always hopeful when all the first quarter toys are released. Fingers crossed we can start diving into our A plot. Sougo learning to not be Hitler is going to start getting old.

I love that red panda boy still ended up as a monk and continues to investigate paranormal activity and help people in need even without becoming Ghost.

I did not fully understand what he said, but if he did it would not be weird. He could literally just have meant " wait he turned into another rider !? ", but I am unsure. I can only understand some of the raw overall and I do not have the skills required to fully get it.

Q from last week like 3 days after Gaim in the future Sougo still separate? Woz alliance with time jackers because of his info about Geiz? History is after and Geiz is ohma? Next week will be another ghost, decade ghost, ghost himself, zio ghost, and Geiz ghost, so any line drop about the ghost ride watch? A lot if things happening and makoto probably be in 2015, so stock footage? Oh, there's captain ghost N maybe some chance for Time Majin Ghost.

Haven't seen the ep yet to say for sure.

But on basics, I'd assume it has to do with they are both "amnesia riders", and how Agito was created from a seed from the lord of light, and all that backstory associated.

Which seems to line up to the "overlords" theme in general of Zi-O. So it makes sense Tsukasa would lean on that form the most for now.

Can I just say Geiz has no character aside from "I'll kill him"

Yeah but I like his henshin moves more than Sougo's. Maybe it's because I like how pissed off he looks while doing it and how violent his motion is compared to Sougo's henshin which is more graceful.

It's less practical since it's not like sentai henshin, which is slow down for us to see as audience. I kind of like another riders in the way like wizard possess all 4 forms powers, Gaim can use overlord powers, and a few more that just do more things without the gimmick getting in the way. I remember it was cool that decade can transform in to past riders despite retconing all the original actors and have a bad finale. He literally needs to pick the right card to henshin, summon weapon or form, and attack.

Decade did not retcon the original actors away etc, the worlds he visits are not the same as the original so they had free reign on the actors and settings used instead.

We had multiple versions of some riders in Decade that proves this.

His character is still progressing.

Negative growth is still growth. We're nearing the resolution of that though, but that's the inner nature of his character growth. Going from stopping Oma, to more emphatically fighting his changing feelings so going even more over board, to eventual resolution and acceptance of how he was wrong. People don't suddenly change their ways when they've had one single truth to cling to and pushes them forward for so long. He's hard headed like that, and gets more conflicted from his pride and ego. Eventually we should see the turnover in that, and the conflicted nature more manifest, to his eventual personality resolution and how his goals change.

Think more like Zuko in The Last Airbender. But a little bit of the inverse of Zuko as from the rebellion standpoint. That full character breakdown to transition out of that nature is his character build. He's hard headed and tunnel visioned, unlike tsukuyomi that's seeing there are other ways to change the future.

Geiz hasn't been open to change yet, but we see it in little things how he's been shown his actions are going too far and not seeing the wider factors. It's still growth though, but in a more human standpoint of how that'd go. So what we're seeing is the build towards that. That full character turnover is coming, but it's gotta build to it for impact on why and what comes out of it. Changing is a process forward when you're that arrogant/hard headed.

Zuko is the best comparative example, but things aren't as "Light and Dark" as they seem. Geiz is an early focus in this way for that reason in where he's going. But iirc, should be this arc or the next arc that brings him either closer to resolution on that, or fully resolves it. By next year we should be dealing with different story themes of his trying to understand himself better after having fought for so long to stop Oma. Though backsliding to his older ways will always be a shadow too.

Haven't seen the episode yet, but this should be the direct counter to the build the Gaim two parter showed. His restored confidence taking shape to lash out at Sougo/Zi-O one more time to change the future that way. That even more dead set on his mission with his renewed confidence in his skills, before later how we transition to his skills being used to help forge the future like Tsukuyomi is looking to do now.
Next episodes should really more bring that to fruition, and then resolution. This is moderately psych 101 text book personality stuff. Which is showing how this is a process for growth and change, and to be aware of it in others. Like I've said before, Zi-O the show isn't like other shows where it's a lot of flagrant arm waving around saying "I've changed". Life isn't always as clean and clear as that. Ego gets in the way and ego takes shape in more ways than flagrancy and flamboyance from overacting to forcefully convey eye catching strong personalities and dominance with strength.

You're confusing personality for "flamboyance" and intentional overacting. Geiz's personality isn't as flagrant as that. That's not his character type. Though it works for some things like Kuroto and others, that kind of "overacting" wouldn't work for Geiz's personal journey arc. He's not 'flashy' like that. He's a soldier. He's inner strong with ego. So it's more internalized subdued.

Decade is one of those series that have an amazing opening, but the series doesn't reflect the tone of the theme song. The plot was thin and they were cheap in hiring actors to return since aside from deno vs kiva as well as ryuki vs agito special, there wasn't any returning riders ever, so they just recast them aside from OrIginal kiva, which preceded decade. The dumb thing is that deno is the original deno because voice actors are closely tie in with Toei animated aeries, so theyre always free. The same for most of the hibiki cast as well and blade movie riders. Then they ran out heisei stories and decide to tie in Showa riders and villains and make Tsukasa the elected "leader" of a united villain organization. The remaining episodes doesn't even make sense continuing from what the movie left off such as his sister. It started the trend of recasting iconic villain leader from the Showa era as some big bad remnant of every taisen movie. Narutaki went from being a possible another decade to a lame Showa villain. Anyway, enough ranting, Jinga is where Inoue shines and his real signature work. However, I do enjoy the action more in decade than zio given the cgi and vfx didn't improve a whole lot tv wise. Also, heard Hibiki actors are doing something together, so maybe they can be reunited again in ZiO. I believe if ohma zio is kill off early, then in the present every riders will regain their memories, so we can see legendary riders again in the later quarters.

Decade was still new at that time and getting the past actors are harder since Rider actors tend to be more successful than Sentai actors in some cases.

Plus in Gokaiger it was actually a miracle they were able to get many returning actors because they weren't planning for that originally, only those who have a mecha will get a representation (Dekaranger, Gaoranger, etc). The actors contacted Toei to make a cameo in order to support and cheer up children and fans after the 2011 earthquake happened.

Anyone have a bad feeling Woz will become a rider soon fighting Zi-O & Geiz?

Well he will become Kamen Rider Woz. I can see him becoming a Kamen Rider by himself (or on Oma Zi-O's orders) in order to make sure that Oma Zi-O's history is sustained. Or probably rebel. We'll see.

I thought he was the bad guy from episode 6. But I think there's one more twist bad guy to follow him.

Tvn up first is no surprise judging by OT slowing down on KR nowadays.

Woz is finally doing something more than a suck up meme. Geiz is now the gold ninja in ninninger with the killing protagonist comedy relief. Anyway, as most of us suspected, he stole 2 watches from the future. I'm guessing with time distortion as well as decade and maybe ghost regaining his memories next week if it's his present self aiding the riders, ohma zio might take a trip to the past himself. He made a dumb mistake by letting time machines getting mass produce in a huge scale to create crazy loops and paradoxes.
They can pull a last jedi and wipe the slate clean. Q2 makes it seem ohma zio might get defected or deleted out of existences and all the legendary ride watches doesn't matter. I don't think Toei can do a lot of phase 1 riders cameo considering their target audience demographic grew up with phase 2, but it would be nice after they switch up the another rider formula. It might be a battle royale between riders if Woz and the time jackers becomes future riders. So far, time jackers are way too over power from the start. Zio and Geiz need to level up to be immune to their "clock up" like abilities.

Time to reevaluate Ghost already. Even Toei says you should give it another chance! :p

(Also time for me to still be upset Over-Time hasn't done the Specter movie, but that's neither here nor there)

Now, of course, considering what the subject matter this week is, it's probably no surprise I quite enjoyed this episode. I wouldn't call it the best episode of the show yet or anything, but there's a lot going on here I really like.

First of all, Another Ghost's gimmick is excellent, and much more uniquely Ghost than if he was just another dude, who just happened to be able to walk through walls or something. I also enjoyed seeing somebody flat out refuse the Time Jackers' vague offers for once. I honestly never expected that to happen, but apparently moral fortitude and being Ghost go hand in hand. Even his mission to go around preventing accidents by stealing people's souls is a sort of twisted take on Takeru's own desire to protect life. I suppose this applies to some of the other Another Riders too (like Ex-Aid, for example), but I dig that the similarities to the genuine article go beyond just the design.

And speaking of the genuine article, Takeru was great here. Loads of screen-time, and while he doesn't get to do anything particularly cool yet, I adore the implications of him doing literally the exact same thing he always does even without becoming a Rider. It really rubs in why I love Takeru so much. Powers or no, he does everything he can to help a Victim of the Week. This is the fifth episode in a row (!) written by Nobuhiro Mouri, and considering he wrote some of Ghost's best episodes, I'm definitely not complaining.

Decade's inclusion was also super well handled. From the preview I was expecting him to only get a brief scene or two with little immediate consequence, but he was a big player here, and got to do lots of cool crap without detracting from the actual main plot, which is quite the balancing act. Much like I love Takeru still going around helping random people, it's very true to his character for Tsukasa to go around doing whatever he wants (that inevitably ends up being good) and not caring at all what people think of him for it. I don't know how much attention the show will call to this, but despite the difference in attitude, Tsukasa and Sougo really are reflections of one another in a lot of ways.

So yeah, definitely a good time all around, and as with pretty much every odd numbered episode of Zi-O, I'm excited to see how well the second part sticks the landing.

Kentaro when toei owns both of thoes show.

Soooo did Takeru regain his memories in those two seconds that Another Ghost was taken down? Like with Build and Wizard we saw them regaining their memories the moment their Another variant was taken down in the present. Why not Takeru? I'm willing to chalk it up to "oops we forgot lol". Episode was solid, can't wait for this arc to end so we can get past the BUY OUR TOYS part of the show.

Ghost being a legend reminds me of that megafirce episode with samurai considering ghost is still new and hated series. I think the actor always wanted to return since he did dye his hair a few months ago for this supporting cameo. Drive, on the other hand seems to become quite popular like kabuto, deno, and kuuga. Kiriko's name was dropped too. Both of them are like male and female goddesses with their social blowing up after drive. They're even slightly older than the hero and heroine castes nowadays.

Now this one was my most anticipated arc since Ghost was my first Kamen Rider series. Sure, it didn't end up great but it's still holds a place in my heart.

Loved Takeru's portrayal and his involvement in this episode and I hope it gets better by next episode.

And afterwards... nothing. Unless they bring Ex-Aid or Build again then I have no further interest until they move the plot further.

Really liked the episode.

Decade's usage of Agito and then transition into Hibiki was an added fun bit too. From Rider of light, to then literal Oni/horned devil rider. Made for some great visual fun to ending battle too.

Really liking how the show is developing out as well. And the extra intricacies to the visual choices is really a treat.

Kind of curious how Decade is going to play out though. There's obviously more going on with him than he's saying, and he's already accepted not wanting to be king. Which shows a lot of off screen growth or details yet to be revealed.

Really loving how the twists and turns this show goes on, and the gotta admit the choices have been great so far in the finer details and influences. How it's showing us often both elements of what riders would be without their powers, and in some cases the effects of their reach even after their powers. Very curious on decade though. His in particular stands out, and that was an extra interesting detail revealed on how Geiz got the Ghost Ride Watch.

Also really enjoyed how rejuvenated Geiz was. His character growth has been a treat. How initially antagonistic, to then feeling defeated, and now much more lively and rejuvenated, so now they've got his confidence restored, the next step is to make him actively warm up to Sougo. He's starting to get a bit more Vegeta like which is slightly fun in the role reversal of characteristics. Woz is showing some interesting developments too as he's now on an interesting character journey himself.

And enjoying how they're keeping everything true to the characters too.

Finished the 13.5: And loving Ghost as a teacher. xD That was awesome. Like how they're educating about show stuff and how the process works along the way. And that extra Drive praise was very awwww. Didn't realize it was that big of a hit. That's awesome to hear. It was a really fun one and came from some really interesting design ideas and implementations. Which is awesome considering how much flack it got about being a car instead of a bike. Lots of things to that one I outright loved. Toei is awesome. :3

It's not my birthday, but clearly someone at Toei thinks it is? The first Rider I ever watched (Decade) showed up primarily transformed as the first Rider I finished (Agito) and my favorite Rider (Hibiki). That was a good ~24 minutes to be Switchblade.

And yeah, Takeru was there. Longtime Tokunation-ites may remember my thoughts on that show, but I actually really liked how all the Ghost stuff was used here. For starters, there was no Onari. That's always good news. Mostly, though, they actually used Takeru throughout the entire episode. After Kouta's blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo last week, it's nice to have one of the guest stars show up not just for a scene or two, but to actually have them be present for the majority of the episode. Sure, there are 17 other Heisei Riders I'd prefer to see get that treatment instead, but I still really liked that level of participation from our returning veteran.

And then there was all the Tsukasa stuff. Relatively minor, but I still really liked it. I'm always happy to see Decade again.

Is this the best episode of Zi-O so far? It might very well be. From the integration of our boi ORE WA TENKUUJI TAKERU into the actual plot, to Tsukasa showing up and being his usual self, to Another Ghost's very nice design and 'plan' (not really a plan, but a nice spoof of what the Ganma were doing long ago), top quality. And it wouldn't be a Ghost tribute if they didn't kill of the protagonist.

Describing Shinnosuke as "our national boyfriend", however, puts 13.5 very slightly above it.

Are we going to just go with Another Ghost Wandering for two to three years with time jackers giving him intel? Only for him to be defeated. They're always good at finding pathetic puppet kings despite they could just end zio with their clock up powers. The same with time machine running around through time ranging from dinosaur period to ohma zio future. It's like lupin's buildings will be forgotten and restored by Christmas clip show celebration. Guess wave 2 of the villain ride watches will be the last of the another riders. We might go in to rider vs rider territory if ohma zio is done or delay until the final quarter act. We might get the usual level up another rider or hybrid fusion. It would be interesting if the time jackers uses the future riders power from scans.

How did Takeru know what a kamen rider is?

Also, looks like episode 16 is when the plot will advance...really? That's absurd. So first 15 episodes are just filler?

Um......no. Throughout the past episodes we've had:

• The beginning of long term story arcs, specifically the continuing relationship of Sougo and Geiz

• The revelation of character depths, particularly of Sougo

• Challenging character motivations, most notably Geiz's

• Reaffirming those motivations

Those aren't in any way filler.

Their relationship is still pretty much the same. It's not to the point of Geiz being a tsundure, where he's ashamed to admit he's warning up to Zio and see him as a friend. The whole gaim arc is overhyped because of the one week break, two zio, and Overlord Gaim as well as Baron in helheim. It's actually a let down when it's just fan service. Geiz is still the "I'm going to kill you" Ninninger like silliness before the heroine stop their fun for breakfast. The only interesting part is Woz's hint/foreshadowing on Geiz. Not really a lot of depth for Sougo. His dream of becoming king gets ridiculed by viewers and people in the show since he's a airhead like character. Nothing about why he have or want this dream nor anything about his fighting prowess and competency in defeating Geiz, a trained soldier of an apocalyptic world. Woz is there to be the meme and suck him up. The time jackers picked the worst puppet kings despite capable of ending Zio with their overpower clock up like freezing time abilities. The side character uncle was plan to be the guy that's very knowledgeable about riders to just become a running gag about him wanting to fix clocks instead of household appliances.
Honestly and seriously, if it weren't for the cameos, it's a pretty bad series. Although, without the way how watches are obtain, it would make a much more compelling story. This is really the first episode in a while that really progress the plot significantly and truely change things up. I mean it's probably the final another rider/cameo for a while since we're moving to Q2 and picking up on ohma zio. I dislike ghost, but the way he's added in a helpful and supportive way really makes this the best tribute episode in a while. Gaim was a waste. Os shoehorn Dan and his ridewatch overshadows Eiji.

This. Geiz's character is exactly the same and Tsukuyomi. Sougo has subtle development we know nothing about the TimeJackers or Oma Zi-O

Geiz's resolve to kill Sougo being played for laughs..yeah not good.

Also, cameos don't add to the plot at all and are sometimes, wasted like Gaim.
