First Look: Beast Morphers Roleplay Toys!
|
Anyone here think the Cheetah Blade looks like the Drag Saber from Ryuki, it even has like the same grip as it.
|
I Hope we see the Zords soon. And card & box art.

this looks like the bandai of america toylines but with a nerf gun, not a good first impression

Wow, someone at Hasbro is clearly a master of suspense. I wait all this time to see what the Beast Morphers toys are going to look like and instead of a Megazord or a Morpher, one of the first things they show us is a Nerf gun shaped like a cat. :lol
|
Not really a critique so much as a question, but how come roleplay versions of helmets are always done as masks? Would it really be that hard or pricey to reshape the helmet around the bottom so it can slide on like a biker helmet?
|
I feel very..meh, then again the roleplay stuff never appealed to me outside of when I was a kid into the original MMPR. Let's see what Hasbro can do with the zords.

Huh. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the weapons are completely different from Go-Busters, given that Bandai's beef with that show was that the toy sales were below expectations. If these are reflective of the Rangers' in-show weapons, it seems to me this would severely limit how much Go-Busters footage they'll be able to use.
(Er, never mind. After I posted, I looked up some stills, and they definitely involve the standard Go-Busters weapons. Also, I somehow overlooked that the first picture here looks like a reworked version of GB saber.) |

It's underwhelming on some level, yes. But could it be planned? Possibly.
Hasbro may be trying to whet our appetites a bit just so they can save the "Big Ones" for later! When people look at what Transformers is producing, do they focus on the Roleplay items? I also kinda think this is an accurate portent for the show, and Calendar Reveal from a few Months ago in which Red is holding a blaster that is similar to what is depicted in the Roleplay set, but not included in Go-Busters, helps cinch the theory. What I don't like is the fact that Bandai's "Master Toy License" doesn't end until April 1st! I had hoped that we would be seeing things by March, but those dreams are now dashed. |
The Beast-X Electronic Saber (Sougan Blade in Beast Morpher version) looks better than Go-Busters version....

Focusing on having lights and sounds for the Sougan Blade instead of a transformation was a smart idea; the original Bandai toy version... wasn't that great.

I have to agree with the others I doubt we will see anything similar to the Transformers with regards to Zords. From my understanding a fair amount of Transformers design work is handled by Takara, so expecting that level here is going lead to disappointment.
