Our news team is in the building right now and will be reporting back sometime this evening on what we can see at the con. This thread will be used to posts all updates and photos and it will be linked to all major front page stories relating to San Diego Comic Con this week.

How's this for a new reveal? Lightning Collection Fighting Spirit Green Ranger (silver stripe and all!) and a Putty!

I remember one of the really cool things when we saw Lightning Collection Wave 1 is that for once, especially coming off of Legacy and BoA as a whole; we weren't getting all MMPR all the time. Sure, there was a focus on MMPR in Wave 1, but not only was it from the more obscure Season 2, it featured a monster and it didn't overshadow that we were getting things from seasons that people had wanted for a long long time.

... so it's been just a little disappointing to see pretty much all our reveals since then be MMPR Season 1 stuff. Goldar; Armoured Black; Armoured Red (plus Zeo Gold), and now this 2-pack. Happy that want them, certainly, and I like that Goldar aside they're all variants of some kind that represent a rarer appearance of them than their default.

And I'm sure that the focus is just because these are exclusives and Wave 1 will probably make me happy with Mystic Force and Lightspeed Rescue or something. But I guess it's just seeing all this MMPR stuff front and center that's a bit of a letdown.

Yeah, I think they've gone ahead and just absolutely nailed the gold on, well, Zeo Gold. He looks phenomenal.

Does he actually come with two staffs? I'm assuming one is extended and one is in its powered down mode. If that's the case it's super cool and provides dual wielding opportunities

He does come with both! Luckily we get either display option. And it is VERY nice to finally see a figure of him in proper gold like this as well.

And we've just received a selection of official images thanks to our friends at Hasbro!

This set officially retails for $39.99 and will be available to order via Hasbro Pulse, Gamestop, BBTS, and Entertainment Earth.

Have to say I like the silver trim version a little better than standard green ranger. I think it gives him stronger ties to the dragonzord

I'm digging that putty figure! But is the pack a con exclusive or the pack be for retail?

More missing paint. The Dragon Dagger is missing paint apps that even Bandai's version had, and his morpher is unpainted white. The Fighting Spirit version should have the standard silver morpher, right? First Saba's face and Zedd's fingers, then Goldar's sword and the Golden Power Staff, now this. I know these aren't "premium" figures, but after Bandai America notoriously skimping on paint, I really expected Hasbro to step it up and go all out with paint details. Especially on exclusives, for which I thought they had a bigger budget.

Anyway, I'll wait for a single-packed retail release of Green Ranger without the silver stripe on the helmet, and hopefully with a new, season 1 accurate civilian head sculpt, and a morpher that is painted gold.

Will the Putty get a single release? I fear for the collectors who like to army-build.

Dependent on when it releases, this two-pack will be good for the stop motion I have planned.

Is it me or are Tommy’s shields not painted?

I’m pretty sure the rest of the lightning collection figure reveals outside of Wave 2 will be the yellow, blue and black Mighty Morphin rangers along with a lightning collection Rita Repulsa.

I believe this to be the case because there is a 2 minute YouTube video on the Power Rangers Official channel that gives s quick tour of the SDCC 2019 Power Rangers booth.

There is a brief shot of a banner that says “Class of 2019” which shows headshots of all the Mighty Morphin Rangers in their civilian forms, including a shot of a Putty Patroller and Rita.

I think it’s a good idea that they are getting all of the mighty Morphin rangers out-of-the-way first. Then in future waves we won’t have to worry about seeing those rangers and they can focus on other rangers that don’t have a lot of representation. I’m personally hoping and ready to see rangers from Turbo through RPM. Especially rangers that were skipped in the Legacy collection like the Silver Space Ranger, and the Crimson and Navy Thunder Rangers sling with Samurai Star Green Ranger.

I personally hope They hold off on rangers from the boom studios comics and the hyper force rangers because in case the line dies I would rather have teams that actually appeared on the show then teams based from the comics or video games.

Heck, I’d rather see Hasbro do all of the super sentai teams prior to the ZyuRanger before anything from the expanded universe in the comics.

Wave 2 has already been confirmed to have Beast Morpher Red, so at the very least it can't have one of the four you mentioned. More than likely it just doesn't mean anything; it's a banner that has nothing to do with the Lightning Collection.

I’m aware of what figures wave 2 consist of. I meant those ranger figures would likely be outside or beyond wave 2. How they will be released U’m not sure but I’m willing to bet we’ll have a full Mighty Morphin team before 2019 is through.

When I saw the video it was before the Green Ranger. Putty 2-Pack was revealed and I thought it was odd and random that they would show a banner like that and include a picture of a Putty Patroller along with other Rangers, but now that a Putty Patroller has been revealed, I’m willing to bet it’s not just a coincidence. I think it’s a close confirmation that the other characters we see in the banner will be revealed some time during the show. That’s just my guess but I think it’s a pretty good one.

If I’m right, though I’m not saying I am, I’m willing to bet they’ll release these as exclusive two packs in the future for fall and winter 2019. If I had a say I would do a Jason vs Rita 2-pack, a Trini and Zach 2-pack, and a Billy with Alpha five 2-pack.

The Power Rangers panel is currently happening at SDCC and the news team from our sister site PWRRNGR.com is live streaming it via Twitter if anyone wants to give it a watch. We won't have hi-res pics of what's going on at the panel until tomorrow lost likely.

The Striker Morpher toy fans have seen so far for #PowerRangers Beast Morphers is it. There is no other version coming.

I just thought of something: Do you think (if they’re there) that Shout Factory will announce the next Super Sentai DVD release(s) after Fiveman and Hurricaneger, which would most likely be Turboranger and/or Abaranger?

They mentioned on their Twitter a few days back that they had no Super Sentai announcements planned for the immediate future. If they did it would be something big. Read into that how you will, I believe their license on that franchise expires December 31st of this year anyway. So it's coming down to renewal time, or to find another company to handle it if that's what Hasbro wants to do. Who knows at this point.

that means they're going to be removed from the shout tv site right? that sucks if they don't get renewed, shout tv having sentai seasons is really important for the community

I was hoping to see more Lightning Collection from SDCC, but 6 new figures (8 including the Jason 2pk), and a Helmet isn't too bad. I honestly thought they'd have more than one wave to show.

Already have MMPR Green/Putty 2 pk, as well as MMPR Pink Pre-ordered.

Now... How do I get my hands on that Jason 2 Pack?

I had a feeling that Hasbro would not do a lightning collection megazord just yet. They have yet to see how their mainline zords will sell. But I was not expecting a helmet.
