S.H.Figuarts shinkocchou Seihou Anhk Revealed
1 Attachment(s)
So Anhk is getting shinkocchou Seihou release...sort of.
3960 yen, January 2020 release. |
I though his human form was getting a figuart? I did not see bandai doing a Anhk release without the body but still good to see. I wonder if he come with a stand for him? Also I'm way more hype for his Tajador form since Bandai is hinting at it with the medals.
|
Eh...I don't know about paying $40 for a disembodied arm, but it's also Ankh and I kinda need it....lol
|
Uh-huh. Yeah, not impressed. The old one looks just as good in my opinion.

Wow, this really is a thing now. This would be like selling a scaled-down figure of Thing from the Addams Family. :lolol |
...I was excited for his human form.
$40 for an arm...screw that. |
When I first got into Figuarts back in 2015, this was right around what a standard full figure costed, around 4000 yen. I just checked my account on AmiAmi and indeed, I paid exactly 3980 yen for Drive back in the day. A fair price.
Now Bandai is trying to sell an arm, a couple hands, a popsicle, a phone and about 100 tiny-ass medals for 3960 yen. Legitimately fuckin incredible. Legitimately, I'm more impressed and amused with the greeed on display here than anything else. It's just funny to think about the fact that they're doing this. I mean, who's going to buy this? ...Probably more people than I'd expect, honestly. |
Wait, are they allowed to make a minature iPhone model?

No way in hell am I going to buy this.
First, I'm not accustomed to OOO but I saw what Anhk looks like in one of the movies... Second....A freaking arm...for 30€...Is that a joke? The greeed is real |
The absolute maximum acceptable price for this should be $20. Period.
|
I think I'll hesitantly skip this, at least for now. I just know that in the ideal display I want, an arm wouldn't work out.
|
ANOTHER Ankh arm, after literally teasing the figure? I HOPE THIS FAILS *SPECTACULARLY* This is just so incredibly GREEEDY. And LAME af,really-way to take Dump on the fans,Bandai. I hope no one is dumb enough to buy this so it fails...this actually pissed me off as I was hoping for a *real* figure, not an accessory
|
I more prefer if they make SHF Ankh in his human form and his Greeed right arm can be removable......
|
If ankh is out with his medal, does it mean tajador will be coming soon in the line? I will take this as a good news.

This... sucks.
40+ bucks for a single arm and a few tiny accessories? This should've come with either OOO himself or an Ankh Greeed figure. I'm really not a fan of how they're making accessories packs for high-end figures instead of just including it with them. |
Going by Gatakiriba, it's fairly likely they'll do the combos in order. So we'll see Ratoratah, then Sagohzo before we see Tajador. Maybe Birth too. I would also argue that the only reason we're seeing Gatakiriba as soon as we are - compared to the release schedules of other Seihou lines, and how long it takes for even one more figure to come out in those - is so we're able to actually do the Combo Change gimmick in any capacity.
Keep in mind that the only 'super' forms we've seen in Seihou so far have been W's Fangjoker and Kuuga's Amazing Mighty. And in both of those cases, they only came just under 2 years after the release of the main form. You could also count Kuuga's Rising Mighty, but that's of course a lot more minor in terms of new molding and still took a year to come out. Tajador will happen, just don't expect it to happen for a while yet. |

So no one else thinks this is awesome? Not that I'll be buying it since it isn't different enough from the original SHF Ankh, which I have, but I'm glad it exists.
Plus there's nothing to rule out a human form Ankh SHF at some point. Not long until this year's event. |

This is such a bizarre release. Leaving aside that it's an arm with a few accessories, Bandai already released a Figuarts Ankh arm with comparable accessories several years ago. It'll be slightly out of scale with Shinkocchou Seihou, but compatible enough for my taste.
I'm trying to figure out what they're adding that makes Bandai think a $40 price point is acceptable. Since we only have this image to go from, there's not a lot. - It looks like the dangling flaps that were rendered as plastic in the original release are now cloth. I can't tell whether it's poseable or not; I don't see a wire. - It looks like there are at least 10 individual cell medals, although I'm guessing the mass in the center is, like the original mass, one big piece. - The iPhone and TaJaDor medals are new. I'm a little surprised it doesn't come with a couple more versions of the medal sets, since Ankh's main thing in battle was, "Eiji! Use these!" - At least three alternate hands. This is a unique release because we're accustomed to thinking about hands in pairs, but the cost for additional hands for this one should be substantially less because there's only one arm. - I'm assuming the paint is much more screen-accurate. - Obviously, the arm and accessories are all scaled-up for Shinkocchou Seihou. There's still not enough here for me to be tempted into a purchase, much less to justify it. I'm not sure what it would have to include in order for me to buy it. Maybe the Ride Vendor in vending machine form and some can animals. Definitely hands for OOO to hold the included accessories. Or, y'know. Ankh's human form. |
Now watch the human and Greeed forms not include a right forearm, forcing you to buy this set.

It also confirms it comes with a stand, and five alternate hands, which isn't nothing given how detailed those have to be, but still. It's an arm! |

I hope they don't expect customers to cut the cell medals off a damned sprue. It's an... interesting... addition, but I don't see a ton of display options for more than a couple of them unless the set comes with some sort of brilliant "exploding cell medals" display piece, in which case, I expect they'd have included it in the product image.

Kinda missed that this is a retail release, which does help with the price a bit, but still... anyways, pre-orders go up September 2nd in Japan.

It took me until I looked more closely at the images to understand one of the reasons why this is priced the way it is. When I'd only glanced at it, it looked like the cell medals were just the same medal x100. Looking more closely, it looks like this includes many - maybe all - the different types of cell medals; I'd totally forgotten that the reverse sides look like those of core medals. I don't quite have the patience to see whether all the different types are represented, but I noticed some movie-exclusive medals in there.
I still want some way to display them flying around, but I guess that's kind of pointless until they release Kamen Rider Birth, a Yummy, and/or a Greeed. |
