What is the best Kamen Rider opening SEQUENCE for you?
 

No, I'm not talking about the SONGS, I'm talking about opening sequence!

The opening sequence are usually to give us an idea to what to expect from the show, who are those characters and establish the tone of the show

So out of any Kamen Rider shows, which one have the best opening sequence.

Decade.

Much like song it is paired with, it's mysterious, it's ominous, but still gives a decent representation of what the season has to offer.

I love the part where Tsukasa's passing out and the images of the Heisei Riders are superimposed to him.

As well as the shot of the Riders in quarry. Even if Decade is technically the first full Rider series I've watched, it felt........ epic to be seeing that sequence.

Easily Gaim for me. The opening is so beautifully done; it highlights each character’s struggles in such a short time and shows off a good number of suits too.

W, Kuuga, and Hibiki for my Top 3. Special mention to Gaim, particularly for how deceptively bright and cheerful it was.

It took me ages to come up with an answer to this, and when I finally thought one up and came back... you've gone and given it!! :lol

I'm also gonna throw in special mentions to Agito, Ryuki and OOO though; as well as Blade's first OP for how needlessly ridiculous it is

Gaim's the first one that comes to mind, and as people have already said, yeah, it's great. Deacde's too - regardless of the show, it's *very* well made.

I’d probably have to go with Kamen Rider Black RX, for how simple, yet ominous it is.

W and Hibiki are probably my favorites. I love the stylized animation from W's opening and Hibiki's is just stylish as hell. Ryuki is also pretty high on my list.

I want to throw in a special acknowledgment for Black, too. It's mostly a standard Showa "dude on a motorcycle" opening, but the opening bit with the slow walk forward is friggin' iconic.

The first 30 seconds of BLACK's intro could legit be taught in film schools or something. The contrast between the loud whooshy sounds of the title card, followed by that brief silence before that gradual *step* *pause* *step*, all building up to him crashing out of that wall, it's a total masterpiece in terms of audio, even completely ignoring the song.

I, uh, can't really narrow this question down enough to even just say a couple things. I'll try, but just know I even unironically love Blade's first opening. Ex-Aid is my favorite one in recent memory, because it reminds me the most of Ryuki, which will always be my gold standard for visuals in a Rider opening, with the bonus of conveying maybe a little more information about the show than Ryuki's occasionally cryptic (but gorgeous!) shots do.

So in general I prefer the more flashy, less literal openings, but the simpler ones have their own charm. Agito makes three dudes riding on bikes *work*, and the 24/7 version from later in the series has that shot of G3 crashing through a wall displaying footage of G3 that was actually a practical effect, accomplished by projecting the footage onto said wall. So you know, there's always something to say for all of them, is the point.

You have to respect Blade's first opening for how hard it leaned into "Hey, young moms watching this with your kids, we know why you're here and we got you. ;)"

V3, Black, Kabuto, Den-O, W, Fourze, Gaim, Ex-Aid, Zero-One for me. If I had to choose just one Kabuto.

The intro to Black's OP was iconic as hell, yes, and I do love the imagery in the ED sequence as well. There's something incredibly nostalgic about it that always got me a bit teary-eyed.

Oh, I really like Ryuki too, the other two haven't stick as much maybe because I haven't seen the actual shows. The OPs I like the most, they're all very distinct in their style and represents their respective series very well.

Blade, not so much, I was honestly kinda pissed it's not actually a show about Kamen Rider Host Club destroying monsters with insane ball juggling and milk chugging skillz :v

And roundhouse kicking handkerchiefs. :lolol
Yeah it was either Black or Kabuto for me when I posted previously and had to go with Kabuto just because the clock-up shots with Kabuto were just well executed in my opinion.

I think Zero-One has the best opening I've seen yet. The starting narration gives enough information that you know what's going on without getting too involved or dragging on too long, the music rocks (I literally can't hear that starting chant Zero-One!Zero-One!Zero-One!Zero-One! without getting pumped up), the short shots of each character give you an impression of who they are, and the imagery gives a great mix of awesome action, ominous foreshadowing, and a spot of hope at the end.

Hibiki's first opening. Very unique and really captures the atmosphere of the series.
