TokuSHOUTsu to officially sub and stream Heisei Generations FOREVER in July
 

In a surprising move after starting with the original 1971 series and Kuuga, TokuSHOUTsu have announced their next official Kamen Rider project - Heisei Generations FOREVER! As confirmed by other replies below their tweet, they're just doing the movie for now and not Zi-O itself, but we're due to get official subs for the anniversary movie of all 20 Riders next month.

1): Do we have an official date in July?

2): Will this only be on the channel or will Tubi become more popular than ever?

3): Do the official movie releases begin and end with a crossover?

4): How in hell did SHOUT! get a movie license, and why did they get the license for this particular movie!?

5): With such an enormous library to choose from, shouldn't SHOUT! work on obtaining the rights to another series before doing something this hot and heavy!?

6): Since Kamen Rider and Metal Heroes are both owned and operated by Toei, shouldn't SHOUT! consider obtaining those rights as well?

Evidently, there is no outstanding plan to release Zi-O or Build, but there is a minor remark that something more is in the works!

Hmm... can I watch (and write about) Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, and the first chunk of Zi-O before the end of July? Let's find out!

Well, Hibiki and Decade are at least shorter than the others, so that would help.

Feels a bit odd to get one of the final movies of the Heisei era when they've only subbed Kuuga so far. That being said the fact they were able to get the rights to a movie has me hopeful that other movies will follow.

The fact that they've done subs for the first Showa Rider, the first Heisei Rider and now this makes me think that they're gonna follow up with either A.) subbing Zero-One, B.) simulcasting Saber or C.) both.

Lucky for you, Zi-O’s episodes before this movie are the ones with elements/homages to Build, Ex-Aid, Fourze, Faiz, Wizard, Kuroto Dan, OOO and Gaim (in that order)

On the one hand, I can't believe that Kuroto gets a separate homage from Ex-Aid in Zi-O. But, on the other hand, I don't know why all of Zi-O isn't just an homage to Kuroto?

I have a feeling the next full season they sub will be either W or Zero-One, personally. A simulcast would actually be pretty cool though.

And this is why I think Tsuburaya got the formula right when it comes to distribution. Sure people who are not fluent or have a ear for the Japanese language might have to wait for subs to be added or view the fansub videos, but at the least they make it easily accessible by simply uploading to their Youtube channel. Toei's methods feel like a Rube Goldberg machine in comparison. And Tsuburaya has been doing what they do for at least a few years now, yet Toei cannot seem to follow suit.

If they're following the pattern of First Rider series of each era Zero-One should be next. Unless they go for Phase 2 and we get W.

Seriously though, Woz's actor is great and I'm so happy he did this.

It just ended a couple of minutes ago! Still find it a more cerebral crossover to get into, but I'll definitely go again in August when they release it to stream-on-demand.

Man, that movie really improves on a rewatch. Or maybe that's just because it's hard not to be excited when Woz says hello before the movie, I don't know.

I do know this was a lot of fun though!

Also very happy I didn't reeeeally need to know much about Build and Zi-O to still enjoy it haha. I was initially confused a little by using a crossover movie as the big film debut, but now after watching I get it; it was much more standalone than I first expected and a GREAT celebratory piece for the Heisei era.

It was supposed to be up in August, right!? Is this another erroneous tease like Rider 71? They put that up suddenly and then pulled it less than 24 hours later cause it was put up too soon!

Nah, they actually put up a goal on Twitter where if they hit 5k followers then they'd release it on streaming early. Of course, they reached the goal.
