Takamichi begins his search for the third Kanaema Stone, and finds a mysterious forest shrine.

So, we have a new female villain (who was actually designed by Juru. True story). And she uses the Yodon Changer. I’m legit more hyped for this episode coming out than the next one.

And before that guy gets here, if there is a reference, I’d say it’s that the new villain’s debut (disguised as an average person, before a dramatic reveal) has been done before in Changeman with Ahames. And I doubt it was an intentional homage. Which is something you should start taking into account.

For me this is by far the best episode yet and next week should be even better. The actress is great. Her expressions are super creepy and evil.

So the third stone will be giving them their power up. What do you reckon will happen when the last stone, which in turn means all 4 stones, are gathered, cause we know the wish to restore Crystallia isn't gonna happen, since we're half way through the show now. I reckon the last mecha.

I've missed having human-like villains, things are starting to pick up from here, but something that's been left out that I would have liked to see more of is the interaction between the Kiramagers and their Machines.

I wonder if the one muddite that was hit by the rolling bomb was supposed to be hit. Even still, that moment did make me chuckle.

New villain was alright. Curious if she'll get a full blown ranger form, or if they simply wanted the Yodon Changer to appear more than once to bolster sales.

I’ll say it now: Juru’s is currently my personal best of the character songs. Mostly because I was able to retain part of the lyrics for a while afterwards. Which means it’s probably not a Fujibayashi song, since I can never recall the lyrics of her Sentai songs for very long, if at all.

And.. goodbye regular ending theme...?

Replacing the ending theme with character songs isn't unprecedented. They've done it on more than one occasion. Usually 1 for each ranger and maybe a villain one (And, in this case, one for Mabusheena too). So give it maybe 5-6 more weeks and we'll be back to normal.

I know this may sound dumb, but does anyone find that Yodonna sounds similar to Udonna, like thinking why does that name seem familiar.

When was the last time Sentai had a sexy human-like villainess ? GoBusters ?
We're past Kiramager half point now and it was time we get new antagonists.

Oh wow did this one turn out to be a delight.

The raw comedy Arakawa's scripts for this show bring floors me sometimes. He packs so many amazing little back-and-forths into his episodes, never stopping to breathe, and yet that refusal to dwell on the gags only makes them more hilarious. What's more hilarious than any single line of dialogue in the episode, however, is just Tametomo's face in half of his scenes. He is adorably transparent throughout, losing his cool factor to a degree that can only be described as "basically like a Shiguru episode". Which I know probably makes it sound redundant, but it's nothing short of high praise, honest! It's my favorite character getting in on one of my favorite comedy setups in this show; I'm only going to love that!

It's also not redundant on account of being a Plot episode in disguise. Right away it's apparent there's going to be some movement on the overarching plot since Takamachi's out searching for Dragon Balls again, but by the end it proves to be far more eventful than even that. We've got a whole new villain! And I'm kind of in love with her! Yodonna has like, pretty much the worst name ever, and a personality that's not much better, but the latter just makes her fun to watch so far. We only get a fairly small taste of her in this one, but between the amazing job her actor does being creepy, and having a built-in dynamic with, again, my favorite Kiramager (despite fierce competition), I seriously can't see myself minding her sticking around the rest of the series. Villains haven't always been this show's strongest suit, and she seems like just the bad guy to spice things up.

That being said, this is probably a great time to mention how much I adore the Jamenshi? They're pretty much everything I want out of Sentai monsters. Wildly different one-track personalities and ridiculous gimmicks that make for fun scenes where the team has to outsmart them. Or, uh, not outsmart them, in this particular case, but that's only proving my point about how varied these guys are. I wouldn't necessarily say they're my favorite Sentai monsters ever, and I don't know how strongly I'll even remember them individually once the show is over, but week after week, in the moment, they're consistently one of the most fun things about an already hugely entertaining series. And that's not even mentioning their unique design shtick with the heads. It's very budget-conscious!

A new bad girl in the city.

Yodonna's tongue thing is probably gonna wear down after awhile, but it's a creepily interesting way to introduce a new villain. She's honestly the best thing one can say about this one since it's an unfinished arc.

The hypothetical portal looked like there are multiple Hildon, Regani, Shelga, Basura, and Dagames with the same head-wear as the previous ones. Does Carantula make multiple versions at once? Does the Emperor revive the defeated ones?

Using the Yodon Changer for "General Transformation" feels like a cheap marketing pitch on some level, and I know I'm not the only one thinking that. If they're gonna play it on that level, then Yodonna should have the ability to mold a dark duplicate of any weapon.
