I really want to see Tassel interact with the cast.

Here is raw to anyone who want watch Saber Dragonic Knight's debut

So, that pretty much confirms Kento becomes Calibur? If we don't see Kamijo or Kento's actors getting flowers, then they're still both candidates for Calibur. Kinda makes want a dual Calibur thing to happen. Tho, I'll be a bit mad if they play the "Who is Calibur??" game again for Q2.
Also, we still have to hand off Ikazuchi to another user since it's unlikely for Bandai to just throwaway a user of the main henshin toy. Plz be Reika or Mei. A bit iffy on the parts where the camera goes back to the SOL members cheering on Touma twice, but it's fine. Dragonic Knight looked amazing especially with the Not Dragvisor. It was cool to see Ren show any other emotions than monster energy happy. Him crying his eyes out to his idol was cool to see. Hoping he gets some development too since he IS one of SOL's youngest members. Next episode is King Blades' debut (heh King Blade), which is still too quick in my opinion, but eh whatever. Curious to see Calibur back already too. |
Okay, seeing the suit in action has made Dragonic Knight grow on me. And I take back what I said in the Saber toy thread about the jingle sucking. I blame the tiny speaker on the DX toy itself for not allowing me to hear the regal theme of the jingle. I could still do without the overlapping narration on top of the song though.
|
I just wonder who'll take over as Espada. Either Mei or a new member to take up the mantle.
|
So I just counted how long the Dragonic Knight jingle is. The entire jingle, song and announcement and all, is around 25 seconds long. So around the same as Jaou Dragon's 22-ish seconds.
Still longer than Brave Dragon's 14 seconds. Can't wait to see how long the final form jingle would be! And for reference I started counting the jingle after the "Rekka Battou!" part. |
Dang, they just Burai'd Kento.
|
yep Kento's not dead also CALLING IT wherver that dark dimension he went too Luna's there too

The dragon knight book is growing on me, it's bulky as hell, but the suit, its design, and the jingle sell it for me, but the boosters are still trash in my opinion. |

Where did slash obtain an additional giant book? I thought the rumors was the 3 main books becomes the power up item using the giant empty book as the main vessel. |
Just when you think Saber was gonna be another whimsical friendship-powered Disney-happy-go-lucky fairy tale the story took a Grimm turn.

Note I keep saying make Mei Espada because it's like we already have a BLOATED Rider cast as it is we do not need a new character just to do this, though it would 100% mean the Mei is Luna theory is true
|
Okay so I compared the DX toy jingle with the in-show henshin and I realised that for some reason they had Dragonic Knight's debut jingle overlap the normal jingle (the overlying narration) with the dragon summoning announcement (the choir part).
Makes my complaint about the overlapping jingles redundant, and I'm more than happy for that, but BOY did it confuse me for a bit. |

Drive - Chase's reveal as Proto-Drive Ghost - Takeru's First Death and Ressurection Ex-Aid - Lazer died. Build - The reveal of Bloodstalk's identity. Zi-O - Sougo destroys his Driver and creates the Geiz Revive timeline. Zero-One - Horobi saccs himself for Jin, Aruto kills Jin. |
sorry to the megiddo actors but I don't think they're very good. Legiel and Zooos interaction at the beginning :/
Actually that's the acting of everyone this week that was a bit too much, and the many shots at everyone's faces. Funny Mei always finding the bed of the injured empty :'D I hope it becomes a recurring gag. I like Dragonic Knight form. I don't know why, I thought it was bulkier, but no. I like it that way. so everything is set up for kento to become Calibur now. But I wonder how it will be explained after such a final discussion between characters. I hope the memory loss card is not played again. |

What on earth, I swear my ears are playing tricks on me. Should probably stop listening to music with earphones at full blast. |
I liked this episode a lot, it was a real good debut for Dragonic Knight.
|
Honestly this episode has it all. Drama. Emotion. Comedy kept to an appropriate level. Not much to complain about.
Though like everyone else, I wonder what the truth behind the Ankokuken Kurayami is. |
I'll say this right now: I'm going to be angry if Touma turns into one of those Riders who only ever uses his upgrade forms from here on out. I see regular ol' Brave Dragon in the preview, which is a good sign; Saber has been quite good about about getting the default forms in there despite all the Books already in the show. But what I'm more concerned about is Touma losing his unique storyteller fighting style in favor of just hitting things hard. The scenes of him trying out random side forms and doing weird special attacks, I love those. It's something unique to Saber and the variety it adds is a lot of fun. When have you seen a Kamen Rider get used as a sword by a giant robot before?
Dragonic Knight is pretty traditional in its execution, by comparison, but at least for the purposes of this particular episode, I did quite like it. It's a well directed fight scene, and Ishida even got to tell somebody to light something on fire, so you know it's good! The end bit where Saber fights Calibur in the form a purple ball of light is maybe a letdown, admittedly (could he not just have had five dragons or something cool?), but overall, it's a strong first impression. Hopefully, at the very least, they do creative and cool things with the not-Dragvisor's ability to read the existing Books though. I know I'm harping on about this, but it's just... there was a really awesome shiny silver form for the main Rider in the last show that got old quick for me, and I'd like not to feel that way about another one. In terms of the story for this episode, it's not doing anything I didn't expect, but I thought it was quite solid... right up until the end, where it did something I didn't expect and impressed me a little more. Again, Kento is absolutely going to be fine in the long-run (him and Touma have a promise to keep!), but I do like that there was some legitimate, immediate consequence to him rushing out to get beat up by Calibur three times in as many episodes. It added a nice bit of weight to the story, and helped ease some of the repetition of how many swordsmen have been out there heroically throwing themselves on the line lately. And it's seriously like everybody in this one. Daishinji chills at the base the whole time like the nerd he is, but for the rest of Sword of Logos, it's a whole lot of bruised makeup and laying on the ground making dramatic proclamations through gritted teeth. I don't hate it! It's all got extremely great direction (of course), and these actors deliver their lines with appropriate conviction. Funnily enough, the most legitimately emotional moment in the episode for me was actually when Rintarou did the homo-sapiens thing again. Struck a really good balance of heartwarming and chuckle-worthy. Sometimes it's the little things that count for the most. |
This still isn't doing much for me; the most I got was that Dragonic Knight was an awesome jingle. And it's a really awesome jingle! I don't think we've ever had anything that sounds so... so medieval, before? It's so sick.
I also kinda like that Calibur floated away in a glowy ball, and it looks like it's gonna be the standard villain-gets-away-and-the-hero-doesn't-try-and-chase-him thing, but then Touma just hits his book three times and shoots him down with a dragon. That was a great fight! |

I liked the Rintaro moment too but that's "typical Rintaro", that's his gimmick to be the nicest guy in the world, so we're going to have this kind of moment a lot through the show. But seeing everyone say a word to Kento's "final" speech like "I promise/count on us/let us handle this" and then Ren who can only spout wheezes and tears. Contrasting with his usual self confidence and cheerful attitude. Urgh. It hurts. Considering his dedicated spin-off events + his model/hero is gone, that guy might go through a dark arc soon. |
May is prolly the long term Espada.
I always wondered why the closing scene always show the yellow blue and red sword but May is the one dancing. Finally it made sense now. |
Yeah, Ren there's... a surprising amount to read into, and I have to say that he and Daishinji are my favourites right now.

Mei as Ikazuchi wielder will be mind blowing.
I meant, it's one of the three main swordrivers, you would think it wouldn't be given to ANOTHER "homo sapiens" |

It depends on the show.
In something like OOO or 555 or Drive, you've got Kamen Rider as 'the' hero set apart from all others. Even when secondaries join the fray it's in that same kind of, set aside occupied 'special' slot. Kamen Rider is still the hero. But then in other series like Ex-Aid and Build and Zero-One, not only do you have a lot of Riders but pretty much the entire main cast are Riders. There, Kamen Riders tend to just be what the cast are; Build, Cross-Z, Grease and Rogue are just the squad. Saber, of course, is pretty similar. So it does kind of stand out in those cases where you have the one, singular character of those casts and groups who isn't a rider. ... and who suspiciously tends to be the only woman. |

I honestly would not mind if Mei suddenly gets the sword, but very unlikely at the same time, it would fit with the ending dance at least.

maybe Mei will be tutored under that souther girl and whipped into shape, turning her hyper energy into focused sword wielder.
