Who wants Mei to become the new Espada?
 

It would be nice to see Mei as a rider for a change to battle Sabela!

While two female Rider's fighting each other sounds nice. Kento will forever be my Espada, unless he becomes Calibur.

I can see Kento dual-wielding Kurayami and Ikazuchi and get a power-up ala Kamen rider MBJR for a V-Cinema sequel spin-off. But to get back to the topic, yes.

But you know there is a Mei! You can't spell Raimeiken without Mei!

Basically, yeah, I agree. There was some resistance from some of the Swordsmen, mostly Ren, to her joining. But now Mei has proven herself a worthy and reliable member of the organization. With some training, I think she could be a great Espada although probably not experienced enough to rival Sabela on her own.

I'm for it. In the early episodes, I remember thinking she'd need to get a lot of character development to become a heroine and not just comic relief, but you know what? She has gotten a lot of character development. Even with mostly being in the background and sometimes still being the butt of a joke, we've seen her be brave, perceptive, compassionate, and clearly just as dedicated to fighting the good fight as any of the swordsmen, even though she doesn't (yet) have the power to actually fight.

Plus it would mean the ending theme finally had all three Swordriver riders dancing together.

I hope so.

I wonder who'd train her? Kento? Touma? Rintaro? Maybe Yuri since he's both a sword & swordsman himself!

Yeah, just saw the episode. Can't say I'm surprised, but I still consider him Espada, and it ain't too late for him to switch blades, not that I'm getting my hopes up, since Calibur's suit being used more is already great, and I'm not opposed to someone else becoming Espada.

She needs to earn it. Unlike yaiba or reika, Izu and tsukiyomi are still robots and a fighter/daughter of some super powerful timelord family. Mei is like akiho from w , the comedy relief character, but recently she kind of become the kiriko type. I'm leaning towards more of a misora character growth for her where she's like the emotion centerpiece of the show with laughter and tears that brings the dudes together.

Unless he's going to stay a villain, Kento will no doubt take up Espada again

Do you picture Saikou training Mei to earn the title of Espada?

- As sword form, he helps master her stance and fighting ability and how it’ll come close to Kento’s in a way.
- She’ll face Saikou Shadow
- eventually slowly, until Saikou XSwordMan

I'd agree on this, if this wasn't the most boring possible route.

As much as I'd love to see Kento as Espada again, seeing him as Calibur is cool because it's something new. And as much as him coming back to Espada would be nice... I'd want Espada to have a new trick up its sleeve instead of Kento sorta being like de-leveled since Jaoh Dragon is way cooler than Golden Alangina.

What I'm trying to say is... if Kento does get Espada back, then he goes for the Jaaku Dragon/Lamp do Alangina combo and dual wields Ikazuchi and Kurayami.

Oh I think they're gonna drop an upgrade for Espada, or at least some sort of kitbash or premium bandai thing. I doubt he'll keep using the Kurayami though.

I just hope for Mei to become the new Espada. Imagine the ghost of the previous Espada appeared before her!

That goes for Yuri training her after becoming Espada on her first try.

While I wouldn't mind Mei as Espada. I think it'll probably be a just one episode thing. They've been teasing her as Espada since episode 1 but they haven't done it for whatever reason. During their reunion with the Zero-One cast Mei's actress asked Izu's whether she would have liked to transform at some point, I would like to imagine that her agent told her something about it but that wasn't confirmed at the time.

Other thing that keeps her from being a rider is her lack of training, sure Touma didn't have that either but the story shows that his imagination maximizes the power of the Ride Books in a way that fighting skills don't. However, I think they can ask Rintarou to train her, when he eventually becomes allies with Touma again, maybe in a forest or another empty environment in her early stages and then in the black room that they have at the northern base.

In regards of her fighting Sabela, I think either Touma or Rintarou has to take her down, I just feel it would have more emotional impact. On one hand Touma would go against the person framed him as the enemy. On the other hand, Rintarou vs Reika would be a battle between two types of loyalty for SOL, Reika for the institution and Rintarou for its members, his familiy.

Reika vs Mei would be, in my opinion, just girl vs girl, I don't feel those two have enough story together to create an exciting battle.

Mei should become the new Espada! Or if Kento returns again and Desast becomes the new Calibur.

I'd honestly love it if Mei took up Espada. After becoming a monster and being more than willing to be cut down in order to protect everyone, I think that alone proved her worth to the group.

As for Kento staying a villain, no one said just because you're Caliber means you need to be the villain. The sword of darkness is still one of many swords. Yuuri used to wield both. So it's not a weapon designated to evil or antagonistic characters. I can totally see Kento continue to be Caliber from here on.

I'll be real, I'll never get why people want Yuri to dual wield Kurayami with Saikou because it's the most boring thing possible. Because it's like the most predicable thing possible.

Given how Kurayami holds importance to Kento, if he was Espada I'd rather him dual wield it instead, honoring his fathers memory, etc. Give him a new form while we're at it!

I agree, but still feel differently. Anyone dual wielding Seiken implies that we basically lose out on a Rider. While I don't expect every Seiken to have a wielder by the end of the series, not having a Calibur just sounds too sad to me.

Then again, Kento dual wielding Ikazuchi and Kurayami is basically the show going full circle.

I like the idea of Espada duel wielding Kurayami, but I think he'll just use it as a sidearm.

Setting aside everything else for a moment, I do really like how the yellow lines on Jakku Dragon look together with the gold lines on Espada's base suit

I personally didn't want Mei become Espada...

I prefer Mei become a new Rider in Saber series.....

Espada suit design is more suited for male user in my opinion...
