Kamen Rider 555 is coming to TOKU HD
 

Following the big & unexpected news of 555, Agito, and Ryuki being available for free in Latin America, through FreeTV, an ad-supported platform by Olympusat (owners of TokuHD), it didn't take long for the company to use the 555 license for something else.

To the misfortune of many, the show is coming to TOKU HD very soon. The show will start airing on Toku's television channel on Monday, April 26th, 2021 at 5PM (EST), with two new consecutive episodes every Monday to Friday.

There's currently an empty page for the show on Toku's streaming platform, so, they might add new episodes after each broadcast, just like they did with Agito.

Those subs, holy moly! They’re official?

Well at the very least we can ingore this since Faiz already have fansubs same with Agito especailly with Tv-Nihon V2 shame that it can be said for other shows.

Gridman, Mirrorman, The☆Ultraman anime hopefully one day getting proper translations.

I’d say that at least they’re consistent, but they can’t even butcher Orphnoch the same way twice.

That is consistent for them in of itself actually; with their Gridman subs they also found approximately 17 different ways to misspell "Kahn Digifer".

I think "Can Digifur" was my favorite.

Makes me wonder if SHOUT and TokuHD are going to be constantly taking turns for Heisei. If so, I hope you're all ready for awful subs of Hibiki, Den-O, and Decade!

I'm currently checking Toku's TV listings on their website, and they're airing episodes 11 & 12 this Monday, which means that the TV broadcast of 555 actually started in April 19. :eyebrow

I'm afraid we're in the middle of a "Stream-Toku-Officially Bidding War" given that Mill Creek and SHOUT! are all chummy now and TOKU is being shoved to the wayside. Technically speaking, TOKU and Crunchyroll had Ultraman BEFORE Mill Creek and SHOUT! I have fears that TOKU will cry foul since SHOUT! now has Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai in some form or fashion and this ultimately leaves TOKU with little to distinguish itself.

Someone said that SHOUT! wants more Tokusatsu material, but I don't know the particulars.

Between this and the continual inconsistencies and incompletion with the Toei YT Channel, this is getting messier with time. They say fine wine ages well, but this glosses over the fact that not all wine is "fine"! Some wine is bitter and terrible... and won't get better with age! I'm hoping the World of Official Toku Streaming is a "fine wine" rather than "bitter and terrible rotgut".

I laugh so hard every time I see the subs from these guys and am super amused for about three minutes. Then I come back to Earth and realize this means we won’t see decent official subs for these shows for the foreseeable future. Dagnabbit.

Yeah, like... as someone who didn't enjoy 555 much, it's a travesty that a season so intensely popular, iconic and influential likely won't get good official subs, and a chance at a physical release. It makes me all the more happy that Shout very quickly acquired the rights to Kuuga; I really don't want to see TokuHD snag up any more of these

Are the translators of 555 also the same group that subbed Gridman and Agito? Surely the people at TOKUHD know that the subs are―how to say this?―less than stellar. Why are shows being allowed to air with such crappy subtitles?

It's good they at least seem to realise something's up. I expect this means TokuSHOUTsu should be allowed to do Agito, 555 etc in the future if they wish

Subs for Faiz on the same level of quality we now have for Kuuga would be such a dream come true.

555 and OOO spring to mind as the seasons I'd most want to see new subs of, so heck yeah

All the episodes of Agito and 555 are now available on Toku's Amazon Prime channel, with subtitles in English and Japanese. In the past months, 555 was Japanese-subtitled only, and Agito just had 25 English-subtitled episodes.

Did they change anything?
