The movies not being here makes sense since these are full 52-episode series -- they were only bundled with the New Gen stuff because those were 26 and it was feasible to squeeze them in. I imagine we'll later get a release of the TDG movies like we got for Zero

No it was confirmed by someone working on the Mill Creek releases that they do not have the rights to Final Odyssey due to a music licensing issue.

Yup. I’m glad Mill Creek releases what they have. We’ve gone to a handful of Ultra series stuff released to the states to more then half in two years so it’s nice to be able to watch all of the Showa stuff. Those omissions are going probably super annoying in a few years.

Unfortunately, I think this basically confirms we won't be getting V6's "Take Me Higher" either.

Who knows? They might have the international rights to the song for dvd release of the tv series but not the movie. music rights is a pain in the ass. You need to get licensed every possible release for each individual project approved.

The worst part about all of this is Take Me Higher is used in the show a couple of times. Not only that there a couple of BGM track that uses Take Me Higher as a leitmotif will those get removed too?

In this case it does make sense due to the whole licensing with the song; unlike the re-used TokuHD subs for Gridman and Mega Monster Battle I can hardly blame them for this one. Just... ultimately, man; it does suck.

That is... so weird. If there is ANYWHERE I'd prioritise keeping Take Me Higher, it'd be fight scenes and Episode 1's OP.
