I'm pretty sure that's just disclaimer legal speak; they have this for every PB gimmick item. You can see on the close-ups of Zenkaiser's gear that it's the exact same as the normal releases, so there's no reason it won't work exactly the same.

Glorious. Those are gonna be awesome. Something about metal trinkets are just so nice to handle.

Oh but I bet they will work with the Memorial GeartLinger no doubt coming later

I think that disclaimer is mostly to avoid complaints if something in the Geartlinger breaks since it wasn't designed to work with metal gears.

I'm a casual merch person so someone else will have to explain to me what is the appeal of them being metal in the first place.

Makes for a nice display piece I suppose, if you don't want to risk tearing apart the inside of your DX toy.

Okay, we got clarification on it. Basically they do have the ID code and will be read in the Geartlinger, but they said "recommend not to use it" as a disclaimer against complaints

That is a very reasonable and good warning. I have a friend who makes metal dice out of aluminum and brass and the amount of people who complain about how the dice dented their cheap MDF tables is unbelievable...
