Summer time awesome.

The Kiramagers are appearing again in Zenkaiger! Could this be...a possible team-up movie between the Zenkaigers, the Kiramagers, the Showa Super Sentai Teams, the Heisei Super Sentai Teams, the Reiwa Super Sentai Teams and AkaRed very soon right after the Yodonna 2 Spinoff? I know the cast of the 2020 Super Sentai Series are too busy in their separate schedules right now. But when it comes for Toei to recall them again, who knows when will these guys come back? I want interactions between Kaito Goshikida and Juuru Atsuta; Zyuran and Sena Hayami; Gaon and Tametomo Imizu; Magine and Sayo Ooharu; Vroon and Shiguru Oshikiri; Zox Goldtweaker and Takamichi Crystalia; possibly Secchan and Queen Mabushina; and other Super Sentai Teams of the past as well as AkaRed! I will be sad if that dream won't come true!

Great news for Sun Vulcan and Kiramager fans: Your Gears are now tied with Kyuranger and Hurricanger in first place for popularity!
I may not have watched Changeman yet, but I do recognize the power from Jake using Black Blitz's Legendary Mode in the Legendary Battle Extended Edition! |
That was a fun episode! I had a smile all through out while watching. It was fun seeing vacation world enjoying competing with Kaito and Zox and the rest of the gang.
|
This is probably one of the most wholesome sentai episodes Ive seen in a VERY long time
|
What a fun time! I realised pretty quickly that this was essentially just an episode of the characters having fun playing games with each other, and... and really sometimes that's all you need! Just awfully cute
|
This episode somewhat reminded me of the Dairanger episodes where the team competed with the Three Gorma Stooges in sports.
|
It feels redundant to say but Zenkaiger is the best show in the world.
|
Why/ Because Zenkaiger beats Gokaiger when it comes to a Super Sentai Anniversary? I don't think so.

What's that, you wanted some follow-up on what's going on with Stacey? Kaito's parents? Sorry, but the plot's on vacation this week, along with everyone else! I sort of wouldn't have believed a show like Zenkaiger could find a way to do an episode about everyone goofing off and having fun when that's already most of the series anyway, but I really should've known better. It's like, yeah, they're always goofing off, but in this episode, they're full-power goofing off. They are literally rendered incapable of doing anything besides goofing off. It's the kind of crushing defeat for the heroes only this show could come up with, where the heroes don't even realize they've lost 3 minutes in, which is fine, because most of the villains forget they won right after that. The entire logic of this episode is as aggressively Zenkaiger as it gets. As in it's going out of its way to look like it has none whatsoever, despite putting enormous amounts of effort and consideration into every last aspect of what you're watching on-screen. It's skipping straight to the climax, but I'm almost baffled by how great the "fight" in this one is. That entirety of it was easily one of the most elaborate and exciting sequences of action in this entire show so far, and it revolves around everyone chasing after watermelons. And they make that so epic and chaotic! With big long takes and tons of characters in a given shot! That had to be a huge pain to film, and that's why it so perfectly represents Zenkaiger's unique style. It's like this masterclass of raw talent that handily outstrips so many other shows, and yet the staff is always consciously choosing to apply it to the most unorthodox and just plain weird crap imaginable. But that's also the secret, I think. They can only get this fired up specifically because they're allowed to goof off so much, and hey, that even ties me right back into the plot! Because that's what this episode is about, underneath it all. It's heroes and villains alike putting aside their differences and realizing they can all have a great time together if they stop worrying so much about sticking to the formula. Like, I don't know if you can call it a moral, exactly, when they genuinely should not be goofing off under these circumstances, but it's definitely a theme, and it comes together pretty nicely when the Zenkaigers aren't even the ones who finish off the monster of the week. After all, how could they destroy a guy they became such pals with, right? You get a return to normalcy for the robot fight ("normal" for this show meaning the set is still littered with beach decorations, of course), but even in the very end, Kaito is left wondering "what if?" What if there the day came where everybody could all be pals and party for real, without it being some sham they were forced into? How cool would that be? And if that world looks anything like this episode, I can assure Kaito that it would be awesome. ...Just don't forget to tidy up the house at the end of the day though, alright? It gets messy faster than you'd think. |
They even showed the store remaining empty during the intro lmao! Damn I love this series haha!

Zenkaiger is celebrating Sentai's history in it's own way that isn't just "Applause for special guest", and it's not letting the fact that it's an anniversary weigh it down with forced references, and as a result, has it's own identity in doing so. Like, let's be real. Seeing Gai return in Gokaiger was nice. But recreating the ending to Jetman in Zenkaiger was amazing :lol I'm not saying Gokaiger is bad, but I honestly feel Zenkaiger is both a better anniversary and a better show overall. |
I personally like both on about the same level? They're going for very different approaches and they both pull it off beautifully; I'd rather not try and work out which one is better when they're doing very different things. Both are SSS+ tier in my eyes! :lol
|
I like both as well, but after rewatching Gokaiger, I just felt so...Uninterested in the actual Gokaigers, you know? Like, it honestly felt like Don and Gai were the only ones that had personalities at times :lol
Like, watching it and knowing how the plot plays out, and how the characters grow, to use the term loosely, things felt so flat. Aside from some brief moments with Marvelous when Basco is involved, or Joe's episodes against Barizorg, there really wasn't much to the Gokaigers beyond how flashy they were. |
To me comparing Gokaiger and Zenkiger would be comparing steak and sashimi. Both are of the high-end meat category but not enjoyed the same way in many aspects. Likewise, Gokaiger and Zenkaiger I feel have differing fun factors though they are both milestone shows.

I have to agree with Matrixbeast here. I've already given my general opinions on this in the Episode 1 thread, where I compared the two shows and their gimmicks as well, concluding that Zenkaiger is just better, IMO.
23 episodes later and I think that's still true. It's a celebration of 45 seasons of Super Sentai, but it never feels suffocated by that legacy the way Gokaiger did. Even Zox as Twokaizer, who's based on Gokaiger, seems like a parody in an attempt to contrast and show in typical comedic way that Zenkaiger is the Sentai we should be supporting for their conventional values of heroism and justice and moral standards that we expect from a Sentai. There's also the excitement when they use a Gear, since you never know what power's going to appear. Matrixbeast mentioned the Jetman Gear and that's easily my favorite for how crazy that was, but there's also the OP as hell Goseiger Gear giving Zenkaizer the entire freakin' Tensouder and Gosei Cards and that was awesome! I love how the gimmick integrates Sentai powers in a simple and minimalist way that functions as a convenient device for humor and cool references, without being some super important plot key that the show becomes overly dependent on. |
Considering how we actually have Vacanes World genuinely attempt to befriend the Zenkaigers (even if under the influence of his power), I really hope there is a future episode where a World just... wants to be good.
And so the Zenkaigers end up helping said World, protecting it from both the Tojitendo and the people of Earth (and maybe the pirate family as well). |
Zenkaiger definitely feels like a love letter to Sentai. The deep dives are really surprising in just how far some of them go.
Until Zenkaiger, I would've put Akibaranger at the top of the list for meta fiction and Sentai reference, but even just halfway through Zenkaiger I can only see surpassing that show in sheer volume and intensity. |
I really don't like this episode.
I am usually excited when I am watching Zenkaigers episodes but episode 24 is very boring in my opinion.. Even the Vacation Monster is really annoying to me.... But I really love the Vacation Monster are destroyed by Barashitara because this is third time the Tojitendo Monsters are destroyed by Tojitendo General. The other two Tojitendo Monsters actually are already destroyed by Stacey in episode 8 and episode 13... The next episode looks more interesting especially because time rewind story and Stacey are appeared again.... Quote:

This has to be the dumbest episode of Sentai we have had in years....
AND I GOD DAMN LOVED IT ! Oh dear lord was this good ! THE LAUGHS ! OH THE LAUGHS ! I died when the damn Kudaitest looked into the warehouse ! |
It's always funny when you have a seemingly harmless looking monster actually come somewhat close to winning and beating the heroes. But because Barashitara couldn't let go of his hard ass-ness about his troops being lazy, he ends up saving the day. Though on the other, they wouldn't be doing much conquering and enslaving if the troops weren't doing their jobs.

"Every episode in One Piece is a beach episode" and One Piece is great. But Zenkaiger may just have the best single beach episode. Period.
This episode was an absolute blast! It was fun, wild, and full of Zenkaiger's iconic shenanigans, that was simply pure fun from start to finish. Every season we'd get that one Villain who seemed nice, or would "help" our heroes, and this one was perhaps one of the more outrageous "buddy" kind that was just so entertaining to watch playing with the Zenkaigers and Goldtsuika/Goldtweaker (I still don't know which to go with) family. Also, hilarious that there's a beefed up Kuddack, and even the Kudaitest having fun. There really is never a dull moment in Zenkaiger. And seeing everyone talk about Gokaiger only makes me want to see it more. Next Episode: *Click* *Rewinding Noises* Breakdown! Breakdown! |
