I'll be curious to see if any of the cast come back to voice their characters. Not sure how many are still active and/or do voice work.

Seeing people talk about the crew, this definitely excites me.

Makes sense that Sanjo is behind series supervision. This means we can rule him out as a candidate for next year's Rider series too.

Great to see Nakagawa and Naruse coming back for the score. I had issues with W, but the soundtrack is sensational.

The people working on this are looking great! Definitely in good hands. Only hope they stay true to the material, there are some scenes I'd love to see. Some Kaguya-sama staff are working on this as well, so Shotaro's expressions are going to be on-point.

Here's to hoping that the voice actors from Memory of Heroez make a return.

Looks great! I'm glad they're not going the full CG route Netflix did with Ultraman, and definitely interested in seeing how they do this. Given it's much of the original staff from W, it will definitely live up to it's predecessor, at least as far as I've read of it.

Fun little detail on the second image: Phillip's whiteboard features the word "taiyaki" which he had a fascination with during one of the early episodes.

I have a strong feeling that's exactly who they're bringing in for this. Unless they throw a huge curveball at us and have the original cast, though I won't get my hopes up.

Shotaro looks like Kotetsu from Tiger and Bunny.

Philip with green hair is accurate to the manga but still looks kind of weird. Guess it's more "anime."

Akiko looks cuter but Terui looks about what I would expect.

The new Heroine looks cute. Will Shotaro's luck with women finally change?

Nakagawa and Naruse back will ensure the music feels like Kamen Rider and like W.

I'm curious why the Dopants' need their own specific animation?

They keep showing the civilian forms but I want to see some Kamen Riders! Ah well, the bike looks great.

I guess now the only question is the voice cast but I think we'll probably be getting the Memory of Heroez VA's back for sure.

Probably a good time for Team Rider to get all of W subbed after they're finished with Ryuki and Zero-One.

I was just thinking yesterday how it's been a while since this was announced. It looks great, not anything mind-blowing. Just kind of a typical anime style but faithful to the manga.

It was green (well, white because it's a B&W manga) in the manga as well, but if you look at the one pic you can see his darker roots, meaning he's just dyed it in-universe.

Been a while since I read the manga (because it stopped getting fan translations) but personally I think it was done to make him and Shotaro more visually distinct, since in B&W two pretty boys with medium length messy hair can be a bit redundant. :D

Seeing that a lot of previous members of the Symphogear staff, especially the action director, are coming on to work on this makes me very happy. If there was one series that knew how to have bombastic fun with its action scenes while also taking a lot of cues from tokusatsu, it was Symphogear.

And even if they dont explain it I think it's fine. Heck, even Vegeta was a funky color scheme one time when he debuted in the anime if I recall. I think it was the one where his hair was brownish and his suit was very multicolored?

Getting the composers back makes me hopeful we might see WBX back in some form (or at least the Opening will be on point) as well as the insert songs and general OST.

I was confused when I saw it for the first time as well. But when I actually read it, and really thought about it, it's pretty much a reference to W's color scheme:
Shotaro/Joker=Black
Phillip/Cyclone=Green

I was more surprised Shotaro's hair got fuzzy in the back. :lol

I would love WBX back or a cover of it. Definitely needs that jazzy flair.

Cool! I really enjoyed W, so I'm definitely up for this.

I definitely need to watch W myself before jumping into its anime sequel. I think I’m planning to jump ahead on my Kamen Rider viewings and start on W after starting and then finishing up Ryuki which is most likely sometime after the start of the new year at the latest. It helps that I found myself already invested to the concept of this particular KR series ever since I saw the first two episodes.

Oh, you need to get on that. Trust me, you are not gonna regret W.

Anywho, on topic, after seeing Gridman, I'd wanted more toku anime, I can't wait to see this. I've actually been thinking of a Gridman-inspired Ichigo reboot anime that I wanna pitch to Toei some time in my life. Definitely not now, I'm not even 18 yet...but that is my life's goal, currently. Move up the ladder in the manga or anime industry and pitch that to Toei. Definitely.

It is a miracle how this Kamen Rider W sequel even got the green light to be animated. I know there are people, myself included, who have been yelling Kamen Rider Spirits anime from the top of their lungs and still got nothing. My assumption why it is not being done is probably contractual reasons, such as likeness issues or how way back when the manga started, around early 2000s, they agreed that an anime adaptation will not be planned, etc. But if you want more toku adaptation of anime, I suggest checking out the Kikaider OVAs, the super-obscure Barom 1 OVA, the Skullman anime, and the Netflix ULTRAMAN anime that was done by the people who made Linebarrel. The Kikaider OVAs are what you are probably looking for the most since the rest of the titles that I mentioned are re-imaginings. Heck, Netflix ULTRAMAN made them all Iron Man pretty much. :lolol

I kind of expected to see Kamen Rider W in the Kamen Rider W anime trailer but hey.

One thing I hadn't thought about until now though - they better not animate the Rider action scenes with crappy CG models. I saw a CG bike already. What is it with anime and bad CG action nowadays? I mean I know the answer...

...but I'm tired of looking at cheap videogame cutscenes when I want to watch anime.

It may be that or maybe because the usual people who animate these sorta things (I.E. Mecha animators, because Kamen Riders are technically mecha-lite) are getting too old now or there are too few trained in this department. Chalking it up to just money feels disingenuous, I feel.

Still, they do have animators from the Brave Series, and Symphogear, such as Yamane Masahiro and Kabashima Yousuke, so at the very least Double might get some 2D scenes.

I have to admit, toku anime is a hard sell for me. I love W and all but that trailer looks like the most generic anime I've ever seen, not something with the infectous energy of W. So color me wary I guess.

I think most people expected they'd get the MoH VA's, but I think they did a solid job capturing the characters in the game so I can live with that.

The only issue with the trailer, which looks like W in animated form, is no Kamen Rider W. I want to see what W looks like animated.

You're absolutely right. I just finished W about a week ago and I seriously loved it and with several months to spare. I even watched the summer movie, the crossovers they have with Decade and OOO, and a pair of V-Cinema films centering around Accel and Eternal. Definitely ready for the anime sequel. Now, count up your sins! :D

I can deal with the Hardboilder being CGI. The simple reality is that drawing vehicles, especially detailed ones, consistently and repeatedly is expensive and difficult. I don't like it, but I can understand it.

If W himself is CGI though I'm 100% not watching it. I barely survived the sometimes-CGI Whitesnake in JJBA, I don't think I could watch a whole show with a stiff, lifeless main character.

Super pumped for this! I haven't watched W since it was on air back in 2010-2011, but this gives me the perfect excuse to count up my sins once again. Definitely looking forward to August, now.

Yeah, I think people will probably be more open to the bike and other vehicles being CGI than they would the actual Riders and action sequences.

I'm excited but personally, I wish Renn Kiriyama and Misaki Suda reprised their roles, but I understand why.
