What's next? "Shin Gorenger"? |

Well, gotta say. Didn't expect Thunderbirds to be the one to get a Shin film.
Also, next up is totally gonna be Shin Ninja Captors. |

Nifty! I don't know what this is (though I probably will soon), but Anno is really going all out with these "Shin" movies. I guess now that Evangelion is over, he's now going all-out on whatever he thinks would be cool.
Here I am waiting for Shin Gamera or Shin Akumaizer 3. :lolol |
I think Jetman would make for a good Shin Sentai

Also, Shin Akumaizer 3 would be sick as hell. |
It also directly inspired Tsubaraya; he and the creator of Thunderbirds were good friends! If you're familiar with Thunderbirds and you end up watching Ultraseven you'll get a lot of deja vu with some of the miniature sets

Thunderbirds is British, no? Maybe we'll get Shin Dr. Who next. Or for stuff outside of Japan that is popular there, Shin Minions. Shinions, if you will.
That being said, it's cool to see him working on so many things. I'm guessing this means that Shin Ultraman turned out well, and Shin Kamen Rider is likely going smoothly...because why would they hire him if those productions were a mess? |
So, from what I can tell, this isn't quite a full movie (which is a shame, Thunderbirds could use one of those that isn't bad), it's a re-edit and update of some compliation Anno made of Thunderbirds back in the 80's which was released on Japanese Video tapes. Which is still neat he's being given the chance to do that. but it's not quite the next Shin Ultraman
