Do any of you guys remember the 1st PS system from the 90s?

I was curious as I have a PS 1 mini and flash drives with games for it.

What games have you guys played on it?

I agree, those were good times. When games would come out every year (Final Fantasy VIII even released ahead of schedule and completely polished! That's like, the opposite of Cyberpunk!), wouldn't take hours to download several GBs in addition to regular patches and you could just to take the time to appreciate the mechanics and art of the game. I'm a late 90s kid, so I grew up on the PS1 and have a lot of good memories playing Tekken 2 and 3, Tomb Raider 1-4, Spider-Man 1 and 2 and the Crash Bandicoot series. Regarding FF VIII, I missed out on that but I did purchase the 20th Anniversary Remastered version on the day of its release!

I am terrible at games and just didn't often spend loads of time on them, therefore for reasons of both enjoyment and cost-effectiveness I remain about 15/20/30 years out of date when it comes to consoles, at the risk of sounding like some sort of hipster lol. I currently have a PSOne and just for interest have that Sega Mega Drive/Genesis classic console thing, but I have got a not-currently-working PS2 and you never know, maybe in 2024 or something I'll ''finally'' get an Xbox 360 lol

The games I have are just Crash Bandicoots 1 and 3 so far by the way!

I play Play Station 1 games on my PS1 Mini system with blue flash drives. When I got all 5 that was beyond cool.

After thoes came in I was playing Final Fantasy IX having finished VIII on my PS1 (Except for the sorceress boss at the end)

I even played PS 1 Time Force and managed level 5.

PS 2 got both Mega Man and Mega Man X 1 - 6 (X4 - X6 actually were PS 1.)

Also I play quite a bit of Tekken.

Another PS 1 game I looked at was Die Hard Trilogy.

But given the DL size of PS 3 and 4 games give me PS 1 or 2 any day.

Final Fantasy XV is a massive 50 gigs of space. Tag Tournament 2 eats up 7 gigs on PS 3.

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy I on PS Mini and have a 16 with 4 Mythryl swords. Going for the 1st Crystal.

I have a PS2 so the plan is to get RPG games from the PS 1 era.

Final Fantasy is the best game in my opinion.

Playing Final Fantasy VII on PS Classic and Final Fantasy IX on PS2.

I'm hoping to finish up the PS 1 era of Final Fantasy soon. I finished the main game on Final Fantasy VIII years ago.

The SNES Trilogy is also on PS1.

I loved the ps1 growing up. Legend of Dragoon was my favorite game, but I was also super into Digimon World and Spyro. Unfortunately, most of the games I had when I was younger have cracked cases :\ I didn't keep my room very clean and they got stepped on or crushed :lol :(

In my teens, I was a huge Metal Gear Solid and JRPG fan, and any games I picked up later (MGS, Wild Arms, FF7, FF8, Xenogears, Chrono Cross) are still in great condition.

I have 4 out of 5 Metal Gear Solid games with Part 1 on PS Classic.

After I get MGS V Part 1 Ground Zeros for PS3 I may play the series from the first game.

Metal Gear Solid V had been split into two games for some reason. I hope they didn't do a Harry Potter type deal on us and split the last game in half. I was thinking Phantom Pain was the 6th game.

I used to play Street Fighter EX 2 Plus , Tekken 3 and Tomb Raider III quite a bit. I got the PS 1 after I had the SNES. After PS 1 that was more my main home system line up to PS 3.

They split it into 2 games because the development time was taking so long, and Kojima wanted something for fans to play. Think of it as an episode 0 prologue type of thing. It's pretty fun, but there's not a whole lot to it. There's a pretty small open world, with a main story mission that takes an hour or two, and a few side missions that each take about an hour. The story bridges the gap between Peace Walker and MGS5, but if you haven't played Peace Walker it's skippable. That said, you should definitely play Peace Walker. Add it to your list if you don't already have it.

If you're playing chronologically, it goes Metal Gear Solid 3 -> Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (which has questionable canonity and isn't necessary) -> Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker -> Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes -> Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain -> Metal Gear -> Metal Gear 2 -> Metal Gear Solid -> Metal Gear Solid 2 -> Metal Gear Solid 4

For release order, though (which is what I actually suggest because playing in thematic order is more satisfying than chronological order) it goes Metal Gear -> Metal Gear 2 -> Metal Gear Solid -> MGS2 -> MGS3 -> MGS Portable Ops (again, not necessary, but it goes here if you're interested) -> MGS4 -> MGS Peace Walker -> MGS5 Ground Zeroes -> MGS5 Phantom Pain

I know you didn't ask for all of that :lol but Metal Gear is one of those things where, once I start talking...I don't stop.

Shipped in Tomb Raider I - V on PS 1. Will be playing these due to backward compatibility on Play Station 2.

In March I may get other Play Station 1 games. I ginny pigged it with Final Fantasy IX.

A friend and I finished the 1st Metal Gear Solid. He had a Play Station 1.

I'll be playing the rest of Metal Gear Solid on Play Station 3.
