Neo Batta is one of the most blantent Legend Rider form in this show in both color and powers.
|
Opening finally updated, must because movie-advertising time is over at last. Just want to say I really dig the few new visuals of the other riders!
|
Kagerou's back. I guess Hiromi being out of the way means Kinoshita now has room to accommodate Daiji. Next week he transforms too, as a Kagerou fan, I am pretty happy.
Neo Batta's nice to see, kinda odd to see given the context surrounding it, but I guess George learned a thing or two after the movie. That also means the movie is canon. So, I kinda don't like that Aguilera joins forces with Orteca. The man backstabbed her and she thinks it should be fine to join with him again despite the fact that he might pull the curtain on her again. I guess desperate times calls for desperate measures? Hiromi's body is missing. They're not really trying to hide it. Most likely Weekend got him and the mystery man might be him (some say it's Hikaru, but why would he be disguising himself in his own base?). Or he just got up and left lmao |
The white masked man probably is the true Weekend leader.
Maybe he also creator of Rolling ViStamp. Anyway, I personally really happy the trio Deadmans members are replaced by Weekends members in the Revice opening. :D |
This Episode probably Mixed Bag for me because MoTW plot...
But i like all scene that bassically aftermath from previous Episode.. Also Jack revice definietly Symbiote inspired.. i like the power of this Form we potentially See Neat Image between Demons and Jack revice here :D Just as thought Roller vstamps is not from george which is interesting and i like This rider form is strong but not overly OP because i can see KR Demons olteca go toe to toe with this form... |
Seen the Jack Revice debut and all i can say is that form reminds me of Hakumen and Jubei from Blazblue with all that ink effect on his attack, which easily means i love it.
It also help that Jack Revice is the best looking form for Revice so far |
Jack Revice feels like it has the pure, raw, fighting power of a berserker form but without actually being a berserker form since Vice is fully in control, he's just completely free to cut loose.
|
This was about what I expected, which isn't exactly a bad thing. You've got a super fun, lighthearted plot about what a great duo Ikki and Vice are, that is also laying it on real thick precisely for the purpose of forming a contrast with Jack Revice's debut. And that's a pretty good way to go about this, I think! We've obviously ended up a bit of a pattern at this point with Rider shows having some form debut in the mid 20's where the main guy loses control, but considering in this case, it's just the other 50% of the main guy taking over, they've found a decently fresh spin on this. Plus, Eitoku totally gets to say he was the suit actor for a primary Rider now, so that's pretty neat! I'm kind of a sucker for all of these forms to begin with, so it's not too surprising, but yeah, I'm digging Jack Revice right now. Shibasaki's direction also very clearly pays off in the visuals for the transformation and everything, too.
I'm also perhaps even more excited about the other form changes here, though. I'm not sure I'll ever get tired of seeing the Zero-One finishers recreated, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Kong and Megalodon getting in there for a second. I don't want to get my hopes too high, considering we're not even quite past Revice's halfway point yet, but I'm really appreciating how many forms are getting time to shine right now. And what was even more exciting than all that might actually be the brief scenes with Tamaki here? I kind of like how you read into Aguilera's decision to cut ties with him at the start as her way of sort of protecting a powerless Julio from getting caught up with Olteca, assuming she had already made the decision to team up with him. Or maybe she really is just being a jerk who only cares about her own goals, right? It's nicely ambiguous that way, but what isn't ambiguous is how adorable a heartbroken Tamaki still walking around with those melted ice cream cones is. Good on Sakura for taking the poor guy in; he's had enough things going wrong in his life lately. (Also, Fenix director dude is making the worst possible choice expecting Daiji to fill the void left by Hiromi. When you're running some secret evil scheme, you want a guy who doesn't overthink things the way Daiji does in that position. You just know he's going to ask one question too many at some point.) |
That was a refreshing way of introducing a "Berserk" but not so berserk Form.
I don't expect Vice to try to eat humans or anything like that at this point, but I think next episode will be interesting. Also, this Vistamp not being created by George might means that someone at Week End did that, but then why would it be given by a Fenix agent? Could the "not Shady at all" director be behind this? I wonder what will happen next. This series, for the moment, is still doing the right things for me and it's still hella entertaining. I think Aguilera fired Tamaki to protect him...since he can't even protect himself anymore. Potential new Rider? Which Kamen Rider Revice is "canon" then? |
Anyone find this episode had slight homage to Zero One.
1. Neo Batta Genome 2. The fact it's focused on comedians 3. The producer at the set of the comedy show at the end was wearing Aruto's attire, the one with the black jacket over a red hoodie. Also another thing I noticed, is the weird dance that Vice does in the OP (the one were he stair walks in one spot with his arms behind him) he does it there when Revi uses his Revi Brachio Slash. |
Okay, yes, Revice is officially clicking for me now. I feel a little bad saying this, but I think taking Hiromi out of the picture is letting the show feel more focused. We have a refreshing take on a berserk form, some great scenes for all the main characters, and a good balance of levity and drama. I think Vice is not exactly betaying Ikki so much as he is enjoying his newfound freedom a little too much, kind of like a dog that slipped its leash off and won't come back to its caretaker, haha. I'm looking forward to seeing the two of them work out their differences. Daiji got some good scenes trying to cope with Hiromi's "death" and his incredibly suspicious boss, it's been so long since he's done much of anything! Aguilera has approached Olteca to try and work together, and whether she fired Tamaki out of good will or if she was just using him is left interestingly ambiguous. I'm still rooting for her redemption but she does NOT make it easy sometimes. The Sakura taking in Tamaki was really great, poor kid deserves a nice place to live and a second chance! The fights were also cool! They really showed off both Revi and Vice's coordination AND Jack Revice's ferocity! This might be my favorite episode yet!

So the plot's back into the MoTW format along with a civilian asking for help at Happy Spa here, a breather episode. And with a new opening of featuring the Weekend.
And that relates into the duo aspects between Ikki and Vice, pitted against the other comedic duos relating the featured Kuuki Kaidan (with manager Mayu) and the opposing duos Kashiwamochis and Pavlov’s Dogs. Honestly for now, perhaps they should focus more on the other important plot aspects like Weekend after such a big set up of those and these parts can be a slog for the main plot development, but for now, I get the feeling that the ones behind the Deadman can be either (the "twist" type) Mayu with her not being used to the new situation after Kuuki Kaidan's big break and excusing herself in a call or the Kuuki Kaidan (Mogura specifically) with their weird "busy" activities. It's also probably just made as a setup for Ikki and Vice to get up to fight so they can work up on Vice's complications of apparently their henshin and fight as Revice, with eventual Jack Revice debut, and again showing Ikki's growing concern for him, as well as him looking forward with more time to spend with Vice later on as a duo as Vice talked about moments that only can be enjoyed as a duo. Albeit Ikki can still get exasperated with Vice's more reckless actions (which is honestly good)... or Vice being an usual attention whore in front of camera. I'm just wondering if Vice does still have some problems as shown at their comedic duo audition of assaulting the jury (and that Ikki has to restrain him, good thing that Vice would listen to Ikki better as they're now buddies though), or that it's his version of comedy, or obviously, about Jack Revice's debut which can show Ikki's concern biting him back (apparently having Ikki act as Vice's inner demon from the previews). George here is still "supporting" Ikki by giving new ViStamps such as Neo Batta Genome resembling Zero One's, fitting the current episode's comedic duo focus, but the focus now is showing the rift between them (at least in Ikki's side) with Ikki showing distrust towards George due to his lack of (outer) concern towards Hiromi, and now accusing him of using Ikki as his guinea pig too within his Revice. The parents apparently didn't really notice Ikki showing open hostility to George, different of how he interacted with George before. Apparently a random Fenix member was the one that gave Ikki the Rolling ViStamp. I'm probably can be onboard with a major player of Fenix being an ordinary soldier if he's going to be elevated (but he can just be someone ordered by other major player to give the ViStamp to Ikki), other than more specific positions like George being scientist, Akaishi being director, or Akemi being a doctor. Is that a setup too for likely some infighting inside the Fenix? Otherwise for that George. The fight with Zero One, the usual stock pause in the finishing moves being named and announced, as well as Revice ja naito catchphrase play. Jack Revice looks sick though, and with the power of utilizing black liquids, giving a symbionte feeling, despite that Jack Revice looks less like Venom unlike Revice Rex Genome. Jack Revice also had one of the better finishers of the additional attacks in the black liquid's barrage and the grinder (though not sure how the grinder can enhance the Rider Kick..). Though I'd like to see the intangible aspects of demons get utilized in battle as Rider's power, like probably controlling their body to be intangible or not. With the focus (misdirected) lying on mostly the comedic duo environment, the other parts are more of a setup on his episode, of Daiji starting to deal with the unpleasant aspects of Fenix, starting with his concerns regarding Hiromi being dismissed in Akaishi's eyes, and just treating Hiromi as expendable, grooming Daiji as the successor that has to live up. Kagerou shows up again, to taunt Daiji and make them switch places. I wonder what's up with Kagerou here as Ikki isn't related there, what'd he use Daiji's body for if it's regarding Daiji's worry on Hiromi (not enough dynamic shown between them..). And further it shows that how Daiji will act to someone he actually hates (Kagerou) vs someone he doesn't actually hate (Ikki, despite insecurity), that Daiji outright mad to tell him to shut up and get lost. So much for the redemption talk for Aguilera here, just because she's backstabbed. It's just expected of her to try to form an alliance with Olteca again here, as she's shown to only want Giff like her at the beginning before, and that she herself pointed out that they have the same aim, as shown in their goal parallel in ep. 20 before. Of course it's unknown how it'll play out later, or that if Aguilera now has a trick up to her sleeve to prepare for Olteca's further backstabbing as he now becomes much more cruel and sadistic than their time as teammates. Regarding how she fires Tamaki for being useless here, it can be ambiguous yeah of her being tsundere-ish concerned for him (her picking him up after Revi and Vice separated him from his Demon) or her just treating him like a trash (her daily abuse to him and that she goes back to her evil schemes here). Either way, still far from her being redeemed at this stage and not looking like she's going into any direction. With Tamaki just being dumped now there's another set up of Sakura taking Tamaki to live on Happy Spa. I wonder and kinda hope that it'd be set up as bigger thing, with Yukimi being familiar against Tamaki Orifu (no, not about Tamaki scheming against Sakura or such, now Tamaki's genuinely friendly with her) than just some comedic hijinks. As previously Tamaki is played up as comic relief again with his over the top reaction while visiting Sakura not unlike when he schemed against her at the karate dojo back then, as well as him wiping his tears with the melted ice cream he constantly holds. I'm infuriated again however with Sakura being abusive to Genta, though Genta irks me with the constant boyfriend talk. Quote:

I do kinda wish things would speed up a bit since but this was around the point where Saber finally got good last year
|
To clarify here, I feel bad for Aguilera because she obviously had a really screwed up upbringing and she occasionally shows glimmers of kindness that interest me (trying to cheer Tamaki up, showing a sense of fair-play when she offers to fight Sakura for the Gifu Stamp, etc). I really do think she could be redeemed in the end, but she often just starts making terrible decisions like teaming up with Olteca instead. I guess I sympathize with her like I would anyone who had been indoctrinated into a cult but struggled to break away from it and the bad influences it had on their behavior. I am wondering at this point if her actions will just lead to her death instead though, it could go either way.

It was bound to happen. Ikki and Vice decide to follow in the footsteps of their Legend Rider Senpai and became comedians.
Good episode, great if you consider ReVICE's debut. Out of the powerup forms, I'd have to say this suit takes the win out of Revice's arsenal (who knows, maybe Live/Evil's final form will ultimately take the throne), and it's a great way to give Vice some actual spotlight in the fights. Neo-Hopper was cool, but I've already said that when it was revealed for Beyond Generations, which this movie references (give me a break, I've still yet to see Senki, and Beyond Gen's not even out on physical in Japan yet.) This is bugging me, but people have seen Aguilera, right? And yet everybody's chill with her hanging around a cafe. Either way, friendship ended with Julio, Olteca is friend now. At least Julio/Tamaki's now crashing at the Igarashi family's place for the time being (poor guy wandered the city with melted ice cream). I may not have seen a whole lot of Kamen Rider seasons, but I still feel like I know where the monsters-of-the-week plot is going. And Hiromi's going to return as the new Calibur. :lolol Next Week: Vice dances around the city, mercilessly beating up the Deadmans. |
Did Sakura... Just invite Julio into their home!?
Let me get this straight... Sakura invited a wanted criminal with his face all over the news, searched for by the organization she works with, who has people constantly coming over, who would immediately realize who he was without telling her parents who he is, potential incriminating them for aiding a wanted criminal!? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXm6F-K6Ffo This has to be... one of the dumbest moves I've ever seen in either Rider or Sentai... And I've watched over 1500 episodes... Congrats Sakura, you are a certified idiot... |
