What Are You Watching? (Space Sheriff Edition)
There were a lot of shows in this line. I figured start at the beginning.
Gavan (Episode 02) |
A lot? There were three....
|
I’m starting to think wentwood dropped out of school at some point.
|
I like the enthusiasm. Space Sheriff certainly was iconic. I'm not sure this really needs its own topic, though. Ultraman isn't even important enough to get its own :lol
Maybe it'd be better to post in the Other Toku Series thread: http://www.tokunation.com/showthread...t=metal+heroes edit: well, people are joining in on the convo. More power to ya, then. |
In progress:
Metalder On Deck: Juspion |
I am planning to start watching Gavan and/or Spielban at some point this year myself. This also reminds I need to really start re-watching Metalder. Would've liked to watch Shaider, B-Fighter, and B-Fighter Kabuto but no such luck.
|
I could never get into these shows. The weird pacing and editing has always made every episode I've watched feel really disjointed. Some of the best theme songs ever, though.
|
Gaven started this but there could have been others.
|
No offence but it's probably best to at least go Metal Heroes rather than just Space Sheriffs, ''went''! :lol
I watched Shaider and Metalder last year and both were fun but Metalder narrowly edges it for me. I would genuinely like to see a 16th original Metal Hero in some form as opposed to just reboots with new actors which I'm not the biggest fan of in general. |
I grew up with Beetleborgs, so I've always wanted to check out B-Fighter. Jiraiya seems fun to, but my interest literally only stems from how fire that opening is.
|
I'm watching this franchise from Gavan forward on the Toku channel. I saw the 1st Rider and Ultra episode each so it's a 3 way run.

To top it off, I already made a thread previously regarding Metal Heroes and its potential discussion points. https://www.tokunation.com/showthrea...t=Metal+Heroes I suppose this thread still has value, but only the Mods can adjust the title. |
The Toku Channel sort of started that by calling it Space Cop actually.

Metal Heroes was always, by definition, a loose association understood by the robot and/or armor themes the protagonists are known by. "Space Sheriff" started it, but by no means ended it or was intended to imply that everything that followed was part of the "Space Sheriff" series. Winspector is Metal Heroes, but also known as the start of the "Rescue Heroes" trilogy. |
