What is the worst Kamen Rider series in your opinion?
After looking at the news that Fourze is becoming one of the lowest ranked series after Decade I got to wondering what could be the biggest stinker in all the KR series.
I'll have to go with Decade here. Continuity isn't tokusatsu's strong point but Decade made it a point to make sure no one understood what the heck was going on. Plus the main Rider is unlikeable and a Gary Stu with lame friends and a confusing storyline. I was wondering what are your thoughts on this matter. |
hmmm. not sure, will have to think thi- KKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
horrible writing, hardly any good characters, no explanations, kabuto can suck a d*ck, and worst one of all............drake. also to u tendou supporters let me just say this, his complete opposite and DARK version is the nice one!!!! |
Sorry but I'd actually have to say it's a tossup between Blade and Fourze. I like both of them, so calling them the 'worst' is unfair but Fourze is far too goofy and gimmick oriented and Blade just never felt all that great to me.

I'll start by saying that I don't think there's such a thing as a truly bad Kamen Rider show. I've enjoyed every single one that I've seen in some manner or another. Ultimately, however, there are some shows that I thought had some serious problems that kept them from living up to their full potential.
Of all of these, I'd have to say the most disappointing is definitely Faiz. Faiz has a cool concept: in a lot of ways it's like reverse X-Men; humanity fighting against the next evolution of the species. There are some good characters in the show and some awesome designs. It also has a fantastic plot twist midway through the show that makes perfect sense but still came out as a surprise. Where the show fails, however, is that the writing gets so far up its own ass that it can no longer see the sunshine. The entire plot swings on every character refusing to engage in open dialogue with each other and the show goes to almost ridiculous lengths to be "dark and edgy." While a mature show isn't bad, most of Faiz's drama is reliant on over-the-top melodrama and people being idiots. It makes it even worse that we have Kusaka hanging around contributing nothing but more and more interpersonal conflict, none of which can be easily resolved without people talking (which means, of course, that it all goes unresolved). And then there's the end, which fails completely at wrapping up any ongoing plot lines. It's just a huge mess of a show. There are a lot of parts I like, but they tend to get overshadowed by all the stupid. |

Decade.
Decade Decade! A series about a dimension crossing Kamen Rider who has the power to transform into the previous Riders and use their powers. That alone sounds like a lame fanfic. It fails character wise because it tries too hard to make Tsukasa the ultimate Gary Stu. He's perfect at everything (With a token weakness of "Can't take pictures"), even gaining abilities as he crosses worlds. He can apparently outfight everyone. He has a dotting girlfriend who would go to the ends of the earth for him and his only reactions is to just blow her off. He has a best friend who would go to the ends of the earth for him and his only reaction is to just treat him like he's dirt. He's an amnesiac with a "Mysterious" past, and he's also the leader of Shocker. And that's just Tsukasa. Natsumi is only there to play up Tsukasa. She experiences no growth or change. She exists solely to occasionally act as Tsukasa's morality bug. Yusuke was only important on 3 occasions. Kuuga world, Agito world, and Den-O world. Kaito is pretty much the closest thing this show has to an actual character, and even then, his storyline with his brother and the Dark Rider world was never resolved. Story wise, it's just a giant whirlwind of failure. It features a plot that's semi interesting (Decade going around befriending the riders, only to find out that the AU worlds were supposed to be destroyed to allow the original worlds to survive), only for it to go nowhere and, literally, unresolved. Writing changes to the finale and the movie making it feel extremely incomplete. Characters never really grow or change, just kind of stagnate there as the series goes on. Tsukasa as a character never becoming endearing. Action wise, it was awesome. But it's Kamen Rider. All the series have awesome action. It's an anniversary series that only exists to show the old costumes again. That's no excuse for being such a horrible series. That said, Decade is a great series and I will happily rewatch it. |
I look at it more as which series had the most anticlimactic/unsatisfying/abrupt ending.
|
My problem with Fourze is that it is a good show, but just not a kamen rider...now is this for all? Because if that was the case I would actually Amazon... sorry, but a boy who lived on the jungle dropped into civilization... no. If not him than maybe oh...Shin?
|
Of all the series I've seen(Ryuki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, Double, OOO, and Fourze), I'd have to say Decade. Just didn't feel very satisfying in the end.

im gonna say Faiz as well, the show is just so friggin slow and theres no likeable characters whatsoever. second & third place has to be Blade & Kuuga though for me neither are that great and quite boring. not to mention Kuuga has the most boring rider designs ever
|
Kuuga ?! KUUGA ?!!!!!! Really ?

ok first, inoue a bad actor, i get that. tsukasa probly was supposed to be a good character but wen u have a bad actor u have a bad actor. he probly was supposed to be all nice and caring but he cant pull it off. hes supposed to be perfect, i dont see anyone arguing the f*ckin gokaigers here! (though this is coming from a guy that has not fully watched the series yet.) to the girlfriend i refer u to my acting statement, blame the actor not the show. same for friend. unless im reading this wrong u dont have a problem with the mysterious past thing but if u do.... evil f*ckin high heels, all further arguements are invalid. wat was wrong with the story, wat just cause it goes all little off the rails. if thats the case y's evryone defending kabuto?!!!! and for the big one........ the one EVERYONE talks about. onodera. i just gotta say to all the people asking y hes only important to 8 ep. of the series (im counting the two part finale), the f*ck u think was gonna happen! they wanted to give fans some service by giving an old suit some fame again other than two episodes. plus they needed a sidekick to decade since they kinda went a wierd route with diend in not really helping til the last episodes. y do u want more of him if he gets 8 episodes, thats a third of the f*cking series! and if u didnt notice this is kamen rider DECADE not kuuga. if u want kuuga go watch kuuga! u see how long this is, try and object me i dare u!!! |
hmm...well the fact that Kuuga was the first of the new styles of Kamen Rider, the idea of the first and the latest having the adventure together to see how all that came before and after would affect them. Tsukasa was never a developed character. Why was he displaced? Why was Wataru used as the spirit guide? What was the deal with the old guy in the rain coat? WHAT WAS THE FREAKING DEAL WITH EATING SEA CUCUMBER?
Decade should honestly have been a movie character only, like New Den-O. Could have had 3 nice movies, even a cameo in what ever was on TV at the time... You could have had anyone in the rider role, but that script and story line? Sorry, Dragon Knight made more sense... As for Kabuto? There was a definite start, center and finish. Hell the movie was the reason the meteor hit...so all was tied in. Were there flaws? Drake, where did the hopper Zechters come from...sure...but in the end, we got a solid story. I didn't put it on the spot...but you did dare an argument... trust me...as you will one day be told..."it's ok...length doesn't matter..." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...808_020339.jpg |
As far as series goes, Fourze killed it for me. It's too goofball to be a Kamen Rider title.
In terms of anything and everything Kamen Rider in Japan, Kamen Rider The Next takes the cake. Absolutely nothing in the film can make up for its horrid story execution and numerous plot loopholes. However, if you count foreign adaptations, Saban's Masked Rider is the undisputed worst Kamen Rider series of all-time. |

Oh Decade was bad but it was so bad it was entertaining. |

how can you hate the most action-packed cooking show of all time! :lol but out of the ones i've seen, Blade is the weakest for me, and i am one of the ones who like the first and the next for what they were |

And stop trying to belittle Kabuto. It had a plot that resolved, characters that grew, and overall, was just superior. Tendou is an example of how to do the perfect thing. And what does this have to do with the Gokaigers? Because I got some words about them, too. |
I've only really seen OOO, Decade, Den-O, and some W. And I enjoyed all of those. Especailly Decade.
But one I did see, that did have Kamen Rider in the title, was Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. And that was bad. Not because of the acting, or the story, or anything like that. But because of the budget constraints towards the end of the series. |
Hibiki.
As bad as Decade and Black RX were, I managed to finish them. On the other hand, I got extremely bored with Hibiki and stopped watching it around episode 15. The emo kid really got on my nerves, the episodes were the same thing, just with a different creature imitation from the guy and girl, and the effects for the giant Makamou were beyond terrible. Not to mention it usually took 17 minutes before anything happened, so it was boring. |

and no one argued my kuuga rant, i guess everyone agrees. |
Oh, the Gokaiger's will get theirs, just as soon as I have the proper place to post it~
Anyway, I'm sticking to Decade as worst. |
dis·place (ds-pls)
tr.v. dis·placed, dis·plac·ing, dis·plac·es 1. To move or shift from the usual place or position, especially to force to leave a homeland: millions of refugees who were displaced by the war. 2. To take the place of; supplant. 3. To discharge from an office or position. dis·placea·ble adj. dis·placer n. I'm getting scared of the Madison Wisconsin education system here... |
Fourze is awesome. Yeah, there's goofy moments, but when it's time to get serious, it blows away every other show I've seen. The directing has been awesome.
There's the scene where Gentarou is trying to become buddies with the individual who is the Virgo Horoscope. After a heart-warming scene, an arrow pierces the chest of Virgo, who falls to the ground, revealing the Saggitarious Horoscope. Virgo transforms to protect Gentarou and his friends and takes a bunch more arrows.... ...leaving Gentarou and Ryuski to grab their belts as epic music plays. They do a running, powered up henshin... *while running, epic music playing* Fourze: Space kittaaaaaa! Meteor: My destiny will call upon the storm! Saggitarious: Very well ... let's play. Virgo then transports everyone to safety as you see the two KR's and the new main villain fight in the background. That's pretty damn epic. OR HOW ABOUT After Meteor betrays Fourze and kills him, Ryuski (who is Meteor) feels guilty for betraying Gentarou, and thus, tries to save the Kamen Rider Club without his powers as Meteor. As he falls over, exhausted, beaten, and bloody, Gentarou appears, catches him, fights off the bad guys, and eventually transforms in to his "Cosmic States", his final power up, and just blows the Aries Horoscope away. That was so epic it's getting its own DVD release with "extra footage". Fourze is just fine. It started off good, slowed WAY down, and picked up steam. ....at least it's not as bad as Gobusters. :p |

And not to undermine your opinion Kick but how many Rider shows have you actually seen outside of Fourze? :eyebrow |
Out of what I've watched, Decade takes the title easy. It has fun 2 episode arcs but that's it, there's no real overarching plot and no real ending. It's just a big mess with loose threads everywhere.
He does have a real nice base suit design though =] |
dude, Fourze is a good Toku SHOW...just I don't think he should have been a KR. Honestly he could have been a franchise unto himself...in fact could have given Bandai a break on the KR restriction have a goofy fun show, then BAM some badass bug faced KR is back in action...
|
I haven't really fully seen enough Rider shows to say for sure, but my experience with Faiz was a lot less than what I'd hoped. It was just incredibly boring. Same goes for Agito, but that's no mark against it, considering I only made it through four or five episodes, and almost every series has a slow start.

the first one i give u. second one is u really didnt finish the sentence is y i was confused Quote:

oh I finished off the sentence...Kabuto spirited away with the other half...
they see me trollin'...they hatin'...always trying to warn me for posting dirty... |

but seriosly wat did that second sentence mean |
Having seen only Den-O , Fourze , Ooo's , half of W and a majority of Decade. I can certainly say Decade is my least favorite. But it isn't terrible in my opinion, otherwise I would have quit watching by now.Decade certainly lacks the charm that the other main Riders have that I have seen. I'm reluctant to try Kabuto if he is a bigger dick then Decade.
|
its not that hes a dick, its that he doesnt take his job as a superhero seriously and acts as ifits a pain
|
Kabuto is much, much better than Decade. Tendou is kind of a dick, but it's his interactions with others that makes it bearable and hilarious.
|
Noted. Just from everything i have read on here I got that impression.
|
Least favorite would have to go to Hibiki, since I haven't been able to make it past the first 10 episodes. Twice.
|
Hibiki is just...a rough start...I need a second attempt at him and Blade...
|
I don't think I need to say much here. My least favorite Kamen Rider series is Decade. You all knew was going to say that. I am of course limiting myself to shows I've finished or seen a lot of.
|
I'll leave this here to state my reason for picking Decade. Read the caption as 1 sentence.
