Could live with a home media release, would love to get a chance to see it in theaters tough.

I'm hoping for a theatre release, which seems likely - why would they do this sort of announcement for just a blu-ray release? But I'd be fine if it just got a home release and that was that.

Hoping Europe includes the UK, and I hope the UK includes Northern Ireland.

I loved the movie when I saw it in NY, but I will admit that I believe it will be a harder sell in NA than even Shin Godzilla was.

And like Shin Godzilla, I'm betting post-theatrical sales like blu-ray and streaming will be better than theatrical showings.

My only hope is that any North American theatrical release would include both subtitled and dubbed showings.

No way this gets a dub, that would be terrible.

I'd rather not have a dub, because then there's the fear that they push for that for the US Release like they gave you only the dub for Destined Crossroads.

Cause um... I'm not confident in their dubbing I'll be real. It's a fun little side thing but I would not pay money for their dubs. So it'd be a deal breaker for me and I'd rather wait until I could see it subbed.

Dub would probably take way too much time to cast, record and edit. Maybe for an eventual phsysical/streaming release, but I expect this to just be a simple subbed version.

I agree but I know that TsuPro likes to make English dubs for higher profile releases and movies. I remember back in 2017 when they did the Ultraman X/Ultraman Ginga S roadshow at the local arthouse and both movies were dubbed.

As cool as it would be to see it in theaters, I'm happy we won't have to wait long before we get to see it.

Apparently tickets for an LA screening at Beyond Fest went on sale this morning. But by the time I logged on to check if they were up yet (at like 10AM), it was already sold out. :mad:

Anyone get lucky? Or will it just be a screening full of critics and non-toku fans who happened to be on the Beyond Fest mailing list?

Ah. I guess I misunderstood your "Double damage" comment. My line of thinking was that you were double upset because the screening was so close and you missed it. But it's the opposite - it's too far. My mistake.

It's okay! It does suck that I won't be seeing it for another year, but again, at least spoilers haven't been as rampant as it was with Shin Godzilla.

And yet, when Shin Godzilla was released internationally, it was in a more backwater town than where I reside...

I lived in the middle of nowhere back then and had to drive about an hour to see Shin Godzilla, so I feel you. I'm thankful to now live in a place that is so highly-prioritized for this type of stuff (living in LA means I'll probably still have to drive an hour though :lol)

Shin Ultraman has two showings scheduled as part of the Chicago International Film Festival. Tickets for members go on sale at 11am CDT today and for non-members on Friday at 11am CDT.
