Cosmic Fury suits fully revealed
1 Attachment(s)
Amelia got a promotion!
|
I'll say this.
The Cosmic Fury suit for what I assume is Zayto actually works because it's not sticking a pre-existing Dino Fury helmet onto a new suit. Not the best, but it works. I do like how Red just has like, Mjolnir though. But it is kind of funny how you go from kinda toyetic with how Blue's weapon looks into just "This is a prop" when it comes to Red or Green. |

White doesn't exist for Ryusoulger, so as a result it isn't pre-existing.
My mind works in weird ways, don't question it. |
Simple but cute. Although it confuses me that even in the processed pictures the costumes look very crumpled.
|
Doggie: "What would you say if I made Syd the Red Ranger?"
Sky: "Syd? But sir, she's a girl. She's not cut out to lead the team." 2 years earlier.... If there's any character who deserves to be the first full-time female Red Ranger, then I totally think it has to be Amelia. I'm proud of her! Of course, like Rocky, she's still going to be SIC, but it's a big deal for sure. :D Zayto was Red in Dino Fury, then White for like half a minute and now he's going to be Silver, which makes sense considering that there's no white-colored Voyager, but there is a silver. |
Okay just based on what live action stuff we've seen without the helmets uh... I retract my earlier statement.
Amelia's is the best looking suit in live action so far, but the translation from concept art to live action is... weird and not the best I feel. The chests feel too bare, there's not enough going on in the middle aside from the oddity to make everyone's chest more pronounced with the padded suits. Other than that, the colors look off. |
I feel the material just does not look good. I'm also realising something seriously missing on these suits is a focal point -- think about say Kyuranger's stars, or Ryusoulger's lightning bolt, or even when they keep it simpler something like Toqger's tracks. These do just feel super generic and bland to look at
|
Still say Kyuranger should’ve been fully adapted, INCLUDING the suits. I’m SURE Hasbro would’ve found a way to make a female version of Kyuranger Red work

I think there is still a chance given the shortened season. They can change costumes in the next one, gaining a few extra members along the way. |
I still think the suits are okay, however I feel like they could've used a secondary color other than just the silver and gold in the armor, i.e like how Aiyon has navy for his arms.
The lack of a key focal point on the suit doesn't necessarily bother me, but now that people have pointed it out, it is very noticeable. Still feel that the legs are a little too barren, but that's probably fine. |
Gonna be a free-for-all regarding how these suits will mesh with Kyuranger elements.
I feel as though we're being played! They say one thing and release artist/digital renderings, but every time that happens the reality will be completely different regardless of the franchise. The Kyuranger Voyagers don't match the new suits and doing another MMPR "Zyuranger Suits Piloting Dairanger Kidenju AND Kakuranger Chouninju" is setting oneself up for failure! The only Kyuranger Voyagers which really kind of match (but not really) are Ryu Voyager, Tenbin Voyager, and Hebitsukai Voyager, with Houou Voyager and the Battle Orion Ship rounding it out. This would basically mean that Ryuteioh, Gigant Houou, and Orion Battler are THE Cosmic Fury Megazords! Unfortunately, Kyurenoh was already kinda teased in a video previously...unless that's one of the ways they're playing us! Make us think one thing, and then surprise us with something else. I do wonder if there are some new Cosmic Fury Zords that haven't been announced yet! That might help with the lack of symmetry between Cosmic Fury and Kyuranger. The 10 Episode Count thing is another reason that a Kyuranger thing is debatable here. It would severely curtail how many suits will appear, unless some of them appear in crowd scenes like the old days when suits were recycled and used to fill out instances when a lot of monsters and villains and extraterrestrials were needed. If Zedd is going to be the main villain, that also curtails how many Kyuranger Villains will appear. Another trope of the old days was to make a major Sentai villain a random super strong monster in Power Rangers! That should probably be expected here. In addition, Zedd may be the main villain of Cosmic Fury, but it would be odd for him NOT to appear in Once & Always! That may be the key... Cosmic Fury as well as Once & Always are two sides of the same Power Coin! Zedd will likely appear in both, and it's possible that Cosmic Fury will have some kind of role to play, but severely reduced from their own episodes so as to give the Legacy Rangers more screen time and focus. I also think that some leftover Kyuranger Villains may appear in Once & Always for aforementioned reasons, but they'll play second fiddle to the Legacy Monsters. Since Goodson is signed on to voice Rita again, this opens the door for more of the Classics. |
The details are really nice, but the barren stretches of plain color fabric on the suits look so...boring. Like they stopped the creative process have way through suit development.
|
Bahahaha... they gave them fake abs and pecs!?!? And boob cups for the girls??? Oh lord, what a terrible, terrible mistake.
Oh, yeah, I'm confident now that Hasbro is gonna fuck up the new reboot. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmskuS8X...jpg&name=large |
... oh my god that IS boob socks isn't it. Ouch
|
Zayto's new form is christened "Zenith Cosmic Fury Ranger"!

Yikes. These suits don't look good at all. Maybe they're better in action.
|
I don't care about Power Rangers, but the idea of a female Red Ranger is cool though.

Cosmic Fury's our first series to have a female red ranger from the start who is also a main character. Samurai/Shinkenger came closest with their female red, but PR still ended up beating Toei to the punch without any technicalities this time. |
Noice
|
A lot like MMPR S2/3 though, the red isn't the lead character this time around, right?
|
I'll give the new suits this, they atleast look better than the Ghost Ranger did.
|
While I am peeved about the zord situation suits look cool. Loving the Zenith Ranger suit.
|
Oof, the sculpted abbs and boobs is such a stupid look. Totally out of place with the usual style borrowed from Sentai
|
I feel like the decision not to use the Kyuranger suits was partially to spite Bandai.

Man, the Titanium Ranger suit and the Cosmic Fury ones are like night and day. TR actually looks like it came from a Sentai, these new ones look like they would fall apart in a single action scene with how cheap they look.

Everything else: Not nice. |

Based on her portfolio, she did costume design for Dino Charge and Ninja Steel, but considering any Western-only changes only amounted to changes to the base Sentai suits, this is more than likely the first time she's designing wholly original costumes...
Given her other work outside of PR, these definitely feel like they're made by someone who's done trendy or minimalist costume design for dramas but never for an action series. No wonder they feel so drab. |

Personally, my only complaint is that Gold's boots should've stayed navy. Other than that, the suits look awesome!

...Wait, these are the real suits...? ...Oh, sweet cheese and crackers. Okay, starting out with the positives: I am very glad to see that Cosmic Fury is giving us a female Red Ranger. I know, we've had female Red Rangers before, but in neither case were they the Red Ranger of their season. Charlie was a twist villain and the Red Ranger of a side team, and Lauren was a character who temporarily took over for the season's main Red Ranger and gave up the role once Jayden came back. Whereas in this case, Amelia is the one and only Cosmic Fury Red Ranger. ...Yeah, that's all I got for positives; these suits suck, they suck so bad. They're incredibly bland, and they look more like the suits from a parody skit of a low-budget 60s sci-fi show, but with Ryusoulger helmets slapped on. Actually, wait, scratch that; Pigs in Space had better-looking costumes than this. And the fake abs and boob cups are absolutely ridiculous. They're elements I would expect from cheap store-bought Halloween costumes. The best case scenario I can see is that they're going to CGI better-looking suits onto these dreadful costumes, but I doubt that would actually look good. |
Hey guys check out this edit someone made. What are your thoughts on it?
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmyXgSWa...pg&name=medium Personally think this is SO MUCH BETTER. Than the actual product we got it helps break up the blandness & helps convey that this is indeed a continutation of Dino Fury outside of the helmets. |
Maybe this is just me being a silly contrarian, but I don't think the suits look that awful? The material is probably the biggest letdown, and abs/boob cups aren't amazing, but the designs themself look alright - I like the silver extension frim the belt, and the chest plate is a neat addition. In something like:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmxDXsTW...jpg&name=large Or https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmySLmbX...jpg&name=large In any case, it's a 10 episode mini-series. Claiming that you can tell an entire set of shows is going to be bad because of one costume design is kinda silly imo. |
