Which Sentai would have the possible potential to become Power Rangers right after Cosmic Fury?

• ToQger: Sad no for the trains.
  
• Zyuohger: Highly doubtful.
  
• Kyuranger: Seems Cosmic Fury is taking the space route.
  
• Lupinranger vs Patranger: Bad idea due to cops
  
• Kiramager: Perhaps the comeback of the Zeo Crystal with Zordon revived there?
  
• Zenkaiger: Already packed with all the Sentai. May not fit with Power Rangers.
  
• Donbrothers: If the whole season doesn't go as a whole, perhaps extract some pieces of the series like the Nouto into another season. Like with Rito Revolto.
  
• King Ohger: As it's still fresh, it's got an insect theme along with kings. Perhaps it could work. Change the swords to different morphers though in order to be given a gimmick.

Kiramager would definitely be the most safe option. If not that, then most likely Zyuohger. Regardless, I'd want them to save Zenkaiger for the 35th Anniversary.

I don't know how well King-Ohger would translate given all of the CGI backgrounds that would be really hard to match with New Zealand footage.

If there is any more sdaptations, Zyuoh and Kiramei are the only ones I could see being at all viable. At this point I'd rather Hasbro just make their own stuff though.

That's the popular rumor, but it's still just a rumor. The success or failure of Cosmic Fury will greatly determine the overall future of the franchise from the sound of things. Hasbro probably wants to cut the existing ties with Toei, and it probably needs to in some capacity, but everything may hinge on CF!

Personally, I can learn to live with either outcome. I believe any Sentai can be adapted, even ToQger and LuPat. It's the nature of the adaptation and whether faith to the source material is right for the times or whether a wholly original story that deviates heavily from the source material is right for the times.

The benefits of a wholly original story unencumbered by a pre-existing Sentai or its footage makes things new and exciting again, with twists you may or may not see coming. Power Rangers was able to succeed partly because it was new and exciting and you didn't always know what to expect, especially in the old days, because you didn't have access to the source material! If you know how a Sentai will occur when the adaptation is announced, then you start wondering how faithful they'll be while still accepting a familiarity with the designs and footage that you've already technically seen (assuming that one sees the Sentai an adaptation is based off of first, of course).

If they do a show which decides to distance itself from pre-existing Sentai footage, then you won't quite know how it goes until someone sees it and starts reviewing it. It's the same with any of the recent fan favorite shows, be it Mandalorian or Succession or Picard or Stranger Things. There isn't much, if anything, that they're based off of so you don't always know how it'll go or the outcomes of battles/confrontations. There might be a classic trope or film reference that served as inspiration, of course, but that isn't necessarily the same as "recycling" footage from a show that already aired in Japan.

I hate the "not knowing", but I see certain benefits.

That said, I also hate the fact that useable Sentai are being ignored so blatantly! That's hours of useable footage and story-rich design concepts to pull from. Distribution of the Sentai Original is far more likely to occur with one that has been adapted. That said, if Hasbro does its own thing, then that might create a "gap" and a means for Toei to compete with Tsuburaya who is thus far succeeding with their push to distribute Ultraman in the West. Hiccups bound, of course, but that's to be expected (most especially in the post-COVID environment).

There is, however, another winkle.

There is the possibility that CF, while nominally based off of Kyuranger, is going to follow the recent trend of cherry-picking different aspects of different unused Sentai. Dino Fury made use of Madame Noir as Void Queen. The possibility definitely still exists for similar circumstances, especially since the suits are largely original.

These arguments may all be for naught if they pilfer too much, rendering any adaptation of unused Sentai moot. I personally thought a ToQger adaptation would've been predicated around Madame Noir from the beginning. Dino Fury forced me to rethink that presumption (though only by a small tad).

This is why either option can work. Cause, like most everything on this Earth, there are pros and cons to either outcome. CF is an experiment. Always remember that. It's our reactions and the overall financial outcome that will define our future and the future of the Power Rangers.

We should also not forget about the black computer blood splashing in all directions, which, it seems to me, is too much for PR. And I don?t think that their specialists will be able to skillfully cover it up on all frames. Of course, there is an option to say that sanagim are robots, and their blood is engine oil.

I agree with this part. Presuming they're returning to the 2 year format after Cosmic Fury, my current best case scenario for the next few years would be:

Zyuohger (2024-2025) -> LupinPatren (2026-2027) -> Zenkaiger (2028-2029)

Hopefully 4 years will be enough time for Bennett to change his mind about his unfortunate statement.

Yeah, while a conventional ToQGer or Kyuranger adaption seems to be off the table at this point, it does show that there are ways to partially adapt certain seasons, using original footage. Like, what they're doing with Cosmic Fury, it wouldn't be too different from recreating the suits from a Showa Sentai and giving them Heisei/Reiwa Sentai mecha. Who knows?

The immediate benefits of original footage, both for Cosmic Fury and for any Non-Sentai PR which may or may not occur in the future:

- No need to worry about location matching. A place in Japan won't always match a place in New Zealand or California.

- No need to edit a Sentai battle. Every PR has cut out aspects of a Sentai fight, but recent PR has cheaply slowed the footage down from its original frame rate.

We've seen both of these addressed before. Season 3 used Ninja Rangers and less Sentai footage for some time. Alien Rangers were brought in so they could cut costs by relying on the Sentai footage again. Disney constantly used original battles with and without Battlizer and Motorcycle stock footage to control the content and input more imagination.

It's not that we haven't actually seen something like Cosmic Fury before, but it's not been done in awhile and probably not to the same precise extent that we'll ultimately see.

Well considering the EP said in an interview that they are moving away from adaptations, it?s not a rumor.

The problem with Hasbro is that doesn't have resources to make similar visual/special effects from such japanese companies like Toei/Tsubaraya and doesn't have any acknowledge about the Sentai mechas/robots designs either.

Is there anyone here who’d vote for King Ohger? It’s got potential. I have the Nouto go to those guys…. Or the Nouto can go to Cosmic Fury.

I could see a LuPat adaptation making for a great prequel/tie-in to SPD if they decided to go for it. But unfortunately, Simon Bennett seems to have other plans.

Every Sentai has potential for adaptation. It comes down to what direction they want to go to, and ultimately the time and resources allowed to make it

LuPat probably has the lowest chance of happening. While both Saban and Hasbro were weary of ToQ because of trains' lack of popularity overseas, today's current political climate about police as well as framing the thieves as heroes probably isn't something they'd want to tackle just for an action show.

But how to make Zyuohger compatible as Power Rangers? What are stuff that need to be changed & added? Same with a title. I see Zyuoh TheWorld as Asperger's Syndrome.

That implies they wouldn't just change everything about The World. If they don't want to tackle his awkwardness in show, they would just choose to write those portions out (And not include the scenes where he sulks in costume).

It looks like Cosmic Fury is basing it after Cosmic Fury, but better. Hopefully.

Good thing I don't take a lot of stock in the words of an EP. I'd like to think a lot of people are starting to question them.

Bennett and every other ninny can say "doing it this way from now on" or "moving in a different direction". The main thing will always be the bottom line.

Public, business-based interviews never completely reveal EVERYTHING someone is thinking. It also never truly reveals what's happening in and around one person's comments.

If Cosmic Fury works on a tenable financial level and yields both positive reviews and clear financial returns, then Bennett's remarks and intentions might have a degree of merit and set the tone for more originality.

If Cosmic Fury fails, then "Part 2" will have to undergo serious reevaluation and a possible course correction.

I say "Part 2" cause there's an obvious gap or ringer. 10 episodes based off of Kyuranger with an obvious thematic violation via dinosaurs!? Something's not right here! My gut feeling is that we aren't being told everything.

All Hasbro has to do with their great gamble is drop the ball. Given their lofty statements back when they bought this franchise that have failed to truly materialize, CF might be the make-or-break moment.

The homepage here did an April Fool's joke about DreamWorks buying the franchise from Hasbro. There's no immediate validity to such outlandishness, but it does make one think.

Three Options:

- Cosmic Fury and any potential "Part 2" work and the franchise attempts more originality and divorces from Sentai for the foreseeable future.

- Cosmic Fury fails and "Part 2" is either reworked or scrubbed entirely and adaptations are back on the table with Bennett swallowing his pride and admitting the reality.

- Cosmic Fury fails and the franchise goes back on the market with some potential buyers considering originality on their terms and others thinking about straight-up adaptation.

Speaking of which, I already mentioned that it would be funny if Toei bought the Power Rangers.

I think they should readapt kyuranger for the ground battle footage and the interior mecha footage, and replace the already adapted mecha. They also need to adapt toqger and kirameiger
