Cosmic Fury Toyline Thread
When images and news of the toys starts to trickle out, you can share that information here. Also might help if you share the store and location you see certain items at when they are formally released.
As a start, the first images for the Cosmic Fury Roleplay Morpher have been released! https://morphinlegacy.com/2023/06/po...otos-revealed/ |
So much for western kyutamas.

Zord Link lives on!
|
There is an article on front page with more megazord images. Why doesnt that link to this thread? Why is this sites interface and linking so terrible.
It certainly is a thing. Glad zord link continues but its unfortunately looking to be a huge step down which is a shame since dino fury was a great translation and even improvements in some areas |

it looks great.

There are more images available for the Cosmic Fury Megazord.
It still looks pretty much the same, even with higher quality images. I think that they're intentionally ripping-off the Thunderzords of Season 2. They're not even being subtle about it. https://morphinlegacy.com/2023/08/co...ble-on-amazon/ |
That doesn't look like a $72.99 toy to me. Looks like something Bandai America would make.
|
I bit the bullet and ordered one -- allegedly it'll get here on Sunday. I'll let y'all know what its like if it actually gets here.
|
I kind of wish that Hasbro would give the franchise back to Bandai.

This is not a recent problem. From the very beginning lines like the Lightning Collection, which is supposedly for collectors, has been plagued with QC problems. And it continues to even the most recent releases. People had an open mind when Hasbro first bought the rights but the results have given people buyer's remorse. As far as toys go, people were expecting the zords to at least be on the level of Transformers. Which they aren't even close to being so. |
The problem is lack of care for the brand. It's gotten more obvious as years went on, but Hasbro's overall care and personal interest for PR isn't there the way we were lead to think.
That said, it's not to say they haven't put out good things. The Dino Fury Megazord had added articulation and play value compared to the Ryusoulger version. The Lightning Collection has had some absolute gems in it, especially the villains. That said you can feel the lack of investment they have in the lines between haphazard release schedules, missing paint, QC issues, cheap products, etc. The Cosmic Fury Megazord is literally a shorter, cheaper-looking version of KyurenOh for almost the exact same price as it. It's not very excusable. That said, I'd rather Hasbro keep and improve their approach to the license. I don't want any other company to take it over because what product they've put out that works REALLY works. |
Also the ZAP zords being $100+ with issues and should have been like $80 max. ZAP is just the studio Series for Zords
|
So I got my set and while it's not bad, it definitely feels like the left hand doesn't know what the right was doing. They've stripped almost all of the added articulation out in favor of a more stable combination. The addition of zord builder parts is a nice idea but since they also added a new single friction pin connector on the zords, it means the cross play is still limited. I'm also more than a little apprehensive about the lineup since Kyuuranger had a good selection of zords and Hasbro is 0/2 on full lineups so far. Overall, the whole set is worth about $60 in my opinion and the overall price of $72 isn't atrocious but it's definitely a hard deterrent for entry.
|
Still a better Megazord than the Drivemax Megazord.
|
i ordered today at Amazon with a low price is $55.43 for limited time.
|
Something about the megazord feels cheap for me. And the fact that this feels like a bad attempt at emulating MMPR season 2 is already a bad look, though I do love the Zenith Ranger suit. Seriously I think it's a missed opportunity that the suit isn't in Shishi Red Orion colors. And I find it funny how the source material and this are trying to recreate past iterations of their own respective franchises, Ryusoulger being a bad attempt at trying to raise plummeting toy sales by taking elements of Kyoryuger and to some extent Gingaman and Zyuranger at the time.
|
after the dino fury zords this just seems like a massive leap backwards
the dino fury ones where able to add in articulation wile this seems to go back to the basic arms go up and down and a waist i am normally not one to complain about price but.... $72 just ooof the toy is solid enough but just lacking |
