Keiwa and Michinaga are pitted against one another in a battle to the death.

Kekera has finally gotten his tragic Rider and it looks like Daichi is starting a cult.
Gotta say, I'm still not feeling Daichi as a reoccurring villain. While his plot to use the Jamato to gather intelligence is...Fine, it just still feels wildly out of character. He's gone from manipulative to world destroying levels of evil?
It honestly feels more fitting for a nihilist like Da-Paan, but PunkJack is hogging the panda head so he couldn't be reused :lol

I wish Neon's visit with her father gave him some greater depth, but no. He's just devoid of any redeeming traits. I understand that they said his heart died with Akari, but still, this was a nice chance to have a real conversation with Neon. Shame.

Anyway, the hints that someone with more desire could emerge and beat Geats is interesting. They're leading towards Keiwa, but his desire for world peace was for his sister, and I don't think "I want my sister back" is enough desire to truly beat out Ace's desire for a better world.

Also, Neon calling Ace out for only referring to them as their Rider names was nice. I was wondering when he'd finally start using their real names.

Well, I've recovered from the tragic death of Sara last week. It was mostly all I could think about from that episode. I'm totally still pretty mad at Daichi and Kekera for orchestrating this and I hope they both get their due karma.

It's especially rough on Keiwa though and I think his reaction, while clearly unhealthy and self-destructive, is actually understandable and sympathetic at the same time. I can't blame him for losing his sense of justice, but I hope he can find it again. If only to prove Kekera wrong about his twisted vision of what a Kamen Rider should be.

I'm not just talking about him losing Sara either. First Tycoon's ID Core is a campaign item and now his Final Form is Premium Bandai. Dude can't catch a break.

It's surprising how much Keiwa can suppress his emotion when he wants to, like how he shows up to save Tsumuri like nothing happened before persuading her to grant his desire for power. We know he has a talent for manipulation, since he deceived both Ace and Giroli in Episode 16, but here we can see how he uses that for his own benefit. Like, he's aware he has this image as a pitiful loser and he's not above leveraging that.

I actually don't mind Bujin Sword's head being repainted from Command, as I never liked that suit anyway. Honestly, Bujin Sword is my favorite Tycoon form. The narrower red eyes and the black armor solve the problem I had with the color clash of Ninja. The Raise Buckle is even better than Mk. III, love that unsheathing gimmick they brought back from the ZAIA Slashriser and Seiken SworDriver and the way the translucent blade highlights Tycoon's Core ID. It's no exchange for Sara, but I must admit that it's an awesome suit!

Michinaga's also suffering in his own way. He feels like he has to kill the Jyamafied humans, as he believes there's nothing else he can do to stop their rampage. Until now, he's always destroyed his way through any problem, but this time it's hurting him to have to kill more innocents, probably bringing back bad memories of his actions in the Heaven and Hell game, which Sara was caught up in. If that wasn't bad enough, now Keiwa's guilting him over it and punishing him for Daichi's and Kekera's crimes. I definitely have to pity Michinaga a little.

Tsumuri smiled when Win heroically declared he would protect her. Could she be starting to reciprocate his feelings?

Why was she in such a hurry to change out of that dress though? I thought it looked good, better than her usual monochrome outfit anyway.

We can't really judge whether or not Daichi is OOC, since we don't know that much about him, other than he's an a**hole who would murder a lovable character. However, as Ace gave everybody their memories back but abolished desire granting from his DGP, that leaves Daichi in a desperate position where he has to use the Parasite Game instead, regardless of the apocalyptic side effects. Looks like Kekera isn't the funny frog man you thought he was either.

Ace's powers as the God of Creation are limited by his ethics, that he won't sacrifice other people's happiness to get anything he wants, since that actually goes against what he wants. But Keiwa, a guy who's been pushed to the edge of despair and has nothing left to lose, could pursue his personal desire to a dangerous level now that he has Bujin Sword. It'll be intriguing to see how two goddess-given powers compare in battle.

Michinaga does that as well. It's quite common in recent shows, like Sophia from Saber, Horobi from Zero One, Geiz from Zi-O and Alain from Ghost.

Well, I watched two episodes at once. What can I say: divine powers are new to Ace, and therefore, like in the game of knocking the can, he is terribly incompetent. Let's forget that Sarah would have died even without the intervention of the DGP management and two bad supporters. Ace left the riders with a memory so they wouldn't lose their dreams and thus created the current Jamato-Daichi, who of course couldn't help but combine the mean with the terrible and take revenge on Sarah for the last game. Okay, Ace couldn't have predicted this, but what about this episode? He refuses to kill the parasites in the second stage because he hopes to cure them. I agree, not everyone can be Michinaga. But, instead of locking up the dangerous monster, Ace leaves it to roam the city and, as a result, Jamato, possibly harming civilians, dies at the hands of Buffa. It's more like not following principles or finding a better way, but more like wanting to throw off responsibility. Perhaps unconscious.
Keiwa and Michinaga in this regard act quite in accordance with their characters. They have always been opposites, blind idealism and cynicism. Therefore, Keiva does not understand that he is being pulled by the strings and that he himself could easily have been in Michinaga's place. Because Michinaga continues to kill Jamato and sees no other way.
The Black Shogun suit is perfect.First of all, how completely opposite he is to Ace's final form. White fox - black tanuki. The combination of everything Geats did and owned is a dark reflection of that of Tycoon. Ace in Geats IX almost does not stop - Keiwa in the guise of Black Shogun barely moves. Yes, their duel should be great.
The Neon family drama is simply painful to watch. It is clear that this is necessary to lead her to a revival, but I would prefer it not to be stretched out, but concentrated in one episode.
The promo showed Tycoon defeating Daichi. It's so direct that you involuntarily expect a dirty trick. By the way, the monster form itself is terribly dim.
If one day he returns as part of an extra in a big movie, then I will not be able to remember not only who he is, but even from which show.
Although Sarah was meant to be sacrificed, she managed to become a truly living character and the last episode gave viewers the most emotional scene of the show, immediately overshadowing Ace's reunion with his mother. Therefore, of course, I want those responsible for her death to be punished. But whether they should be punished by the hands of her brother is a big question.
P.S. But in the end, Tsumuri Takahashi still could not restrain himself in the end and hit the self-repetition.

Other than Shinji, Kouta, and Emu, seems that now Keiwa takes Aruto's traits too, of which what distinguishes him is the Ark-One part. Non-primary Riders are more susceptible to dark path even if they're as nice as most of them normally...

I've regularly said that it's not that Keiwa was weak to not achieve much since the Lamentation (JGP) arc, and actually it's addressed canonically.... of how Keiwa now feels powerless to fail to protect Sara, and acts on it to beg Tsumuri to give him the power that would make him unbeatable. Maybe I can feel less sour of this when it's addressed, and at least it'd be better than Zero-One of Aruto asking for weaker item after having Zero-Two. And I was worried that the shots may imply that Buffa is somewhat of a match to Tycoon Shogun, but I'm relieved that though it's prolonged, it's still one-sided on Shogun's part. Really bad timing for Michinaga to discard his Jamashin powers though... he should still keep it even when he's fighting the Jamatos. Should be when it's now shown that Keiwa isn't losing in the human fight against Michinaga albeit he's slightly sloppier. Though some people may ignore the equipment and think that Keiwa is stronger when he gives in to his darker impulses, rather than just a different item making the differences....

Character wise, seems that Keiwa's reason to make the world peaceful is to make sure that Sara can be safe on it. This actually makes the reason sound more selfish, but something that makes his actions all-encompassing but for certain one person. Which Kekera uses to claim he's a hypocrite. This is also present in many other characters in media, to work on improving the world for the sake of their loved ones only, of which it can make them occassionally disregard some people to achieve it, but Keiwa's someone who's also shown to be kind to anyone as well, but this aspect still affects him to feel that it's meaningless to protect others and improve the world if Sara's no longer in it, giving him some apathy in that time. Despite his condescending tone, Kekera still has some mentor aspects to point out that Kamen Riders don't give up...

Though actually still not later, when Keiwa still confronts Michinaga regarding his other casualties, showing that he still cares about other people. Though he has remorse on it before, regardless if the victims can't be turned back (or at least from what he knows), Michinaga's still what I expected that he'd think that he'd still view the casualties as expendable for the end goal, which means he still carries the end justifies the means view to view good in statistics. Now though, his first victim Sara haunts him. Like Gaim again, a purple Rider called Michi gets their victim hallucinating him, symbolizing his conscience that likely forms his redemption arc. Overall Sara talks about how Michinaga focuses on destroying, rather than protecting, which addresses his previous reason of joining Ace's DGP. And so this is what Beroba meant of goading Michinaga into fighting the Jamatos, to taste the misery coming from his conscience.

While the actual solution for Michinaga's argument of them can't be turned back isn't addressed yet, only Keiwa getting mad at him justifying Sara's death, at least Geats (for some reason using Magnum only) doesn't resort into killing the victims yet, and Neon would still think about saving Sara and the others while knowing they're incurable. So that debunks people's argument that any Riders in Michinaga position will also kill Sara, actually not. So now she learns about Sara's demise, from Ace, of which fills her with more self-loathing to also curse her powerlessness as a normal human that Sara and the others can't be saved. Well if you have only Beat, that'd not be enough either, as Keiwa shows. Though it's a good news for her that Ace calls her Na-Go cuz he's trying to remake her ID Core, with his DGP being made as typical world-saving Kamen Rider, at least enough to uplift her spirit.

And she also seeks power in asking Kousei to turn her into Kamen Rider again. Thought her confrontation with Kousei was to talk about the Jamato secrets, if it's known why he's arrested, but actually no. Kousei's downfall continues in him being disposed despite being the leader, but he still only cares about enhancing his corporation and using Neon as a tool, as usual. Yeah, being the leader doesn't mean that people respect or admire you, it's not only him who can use others, they also can as well. Neon here connects about the ability to love with happiness, as Kousei is miserable all the time after losing Akari and turning cold. Dunno if some people's guess would be also right that to get true love, Neon should love herself too, with her having self-loathing.

And it's hilarious that after Neon's speech, the scene cuts into a shop called "Loveless", a place to get Tsumuri's disguise. Though I like her usual outfit better, her hair beauty shines more in this one. Jit displays more characterization here, in contrast to Chirami, he's only concerned about getting the mission done, not caring about entertainment value, while always having a serious tense face. So Jit (with baton) also can have Ace on his ropes, albeit he gets more upper hand compared to Win, and later 1v2 them. A bit surprising when he can be more relaxed talking about Daichi's game, giving his thoughts on it. Beroba's now interested in joining forces with the DGP as it'd get the 2nd Goddess of Creation. More Orteca similarities, now Daichi's also starting a cult, likely phase 2 is only meant to transport them there. No one apparently realizes that the one making announcement about the Parasite Game is the Quiz King, like how no one's aware of Ace and Neon when they're saving people (unlike the fangirls on the shop).

Not about this episode, but a general thought on Geats. Since the disclosure of the true nature of DGP, I have been worried about the question of who is its cause, and, accordingly, the source of evil. And here's what I came up with.
We know little about the future, mainly from the words of Ziin, but it seems that there are no contradictions in them and the stories of other characters. The future is a world of artificially created people whose life is determined, up to the time of death. There is no place for strong emotions in the future and DGP was created to compensate for this.
And here comes the first inconsistency. Why do artificially created people of the future need to initially experience strong emotions? There are two types of needs: external and internal.

External ones are determined by the environment and if there are no strong emotions in the future, then people will not have a desire to experience them. Interest in them - yes, but nothing more. You don't feel like climbing trees or hunting mammoths, do you? And the Neanderthal had no desire to acquire a mobile. It's the same here.
Internal needs, in turn, are determined by our genes, hormones, brain structure. And in our time, people with an irresistible craving for the inaccessible may well be born (and are being born). But the people of the future are created artificially, and very carefully. This means that if they have a desire for strong emotions, then it was inherent in them from the very beginning.
And who else could do it, if not an organization with many employees, the ability to travel through time and control over the forces of the Goddess of Creation? This means that the DGP itself has created a need for itself, investing in the people of the future the desire for strong emotions. Therefore, they are the source of evil, and not the supporters.
And it made me take a fresh look at Beroba. If Kekera's desire to mold Keiva into her ideal rider may be an external need, then Beroba, who enjoys the suffering of others, is clearly driven by internal ones. Her need is quite rare, most of the most terrible people in history were guided by other motives and desires.

Such behavior of Beroba can be caused either by an internal deviation or trauma in childhood. From what we know about the future, there could not be a situation for childhood trauma (and do artificial people have a childhood? in principle. This means that the desire to make others suffer was inherent in Beroba. And here, too, it could not have done without DGP.
Developing this idea, it is easy to come to the conclusion that DGP needs a Jamato suporter. If the monsters become too weak, defeating them will no longer bring strong emotions and hurt the show. But why invest in the development of Jamato by yourself, if you can create a sponsor for them?

Simply by investing in one artificial person of the future a couple more forbidden desires, in addition to craving for strong emotions.
And then this puts Beroba on the same level as Tsumuri, because even having rebelled against the DGP, both continue to play their assigned roles - the Navigator and the future Goddess for Tsumuri and the enemy of the riders for Beroba.
So if I'm right, DreadBringer is wrong in calling Beroba the worst person on the show. At the very least, she can't be worse than the one who put those desires into her. For simplicity, I will assume that this is Sueru, but most likely the DGP has a separate man in a jacket for this job.

Not much I can say here other than Bujin Tycoon is a cool design and the fact he has a standard (or at least, not a specialized toyetic) Katana for a weapon and the cape isn't something I was expecting, but very welcome.

I do feel like it's interesting to see how Tycoon and Buffa are more alike in their willingness to use the powers they despise to bring about their desires, which is a fitting theme for this show's premise.

Of course, I'm also absolutely exhausted today, so I'm probably just spouting nonsense...

To be fair, it was never shown if Daichi has any standards or restraint or something, so him escalating can be expected. Same goes for Morio, who while his crimes are small-scale, he also never shown to have any restraints. Though it's already cemented for me when he joined the Jamato (which happens early in his appearence), that he said he'd do anything to get his ideal world, and later enjoying the Jamato terrorizing people, the exact same thing done by Beroba and Archimedel.

Honestly yeah, don't pull punches in showing that parents can be another kind of terrible and abusive people, and imply that if parents are not 100% evil and dastardly all the time, they're not Actually Abusive, the kids are just exaggerating.

I wonder if Orteca's descent to a worse piece of shit was done to a more (personally) lovable character before than a side character (I think similar stuff happened when he gleefully murders Yosuke by turning him into Gifftarian to spite Tamaki), that you'd be less wanting for Orteca redemption and more also wanting for him to get his karma like Daichi here. Well, just that I felt sometimes, that your anticipation of character's redemption arcs before is something that would lead into them merely getting a slap-in-the-wrist outcome (at least because it's what happened to Gai IMO, he ended up better than the main cast of Zero-One).

I don't know how Keiwa can prove Kekera wrong at this point, because technically Kekera was already proven right, by how he got his final form when he threw Sara under the bus. Later events won't negate that, at least in real life audience's eyes perhaps (if there are those who don't hate Kekera, especially those being proud to claim they're like him), that the root of Keiwa getting a W here is still Sara's death which birthed him his final form, regardless of what happens next. Previously you've called Keiwa out for his wish as it'd perpetuate the DGP, but you don't seem to actually demonize him for his turn here, but acknowledges this as a change, instead of like, depicting him as a whole before in negative light by depicting this as his true colors or such...

While he's in pitiful state (and Beroba wants to milk that), I wouldn't want for all the blames to be pinned on Daichi and Kekera only (which also can be used to exclusively bash Keiwa for targeting him). It's still his own idea of “fighting to protect people", anything goes as long as this ends. He's a very example of those who view good in statistics, which explains why he can pull crap like Heaven and Hell, and still this one, despite having good intentions. He may be hurting now to do this, but he can only be absolved of this crime, not only exclusively on Daichi and Kekera, if he stops doing this or having this view. Keiwa guilting him came from his own words of claiming they're better off dead if they can't be turned back.

Having a hope on Kekera may stem from the simple fact that he supported Keiwa, thus by default he must be a saint too just more hardened. I mean you (me too btw) were someone who acknowledged how Keiwa was in the wrong for ep. 8, but these ones may refused to acknowledge he was in the wrong in that time.

Yeah consequences and outcomes aren't something that can be predicted, except if they have the power to do so, so honestly he shouldn't be held accountable for Daichi turning as the next Gardener; the Jamato can still likely continue due to Beroba, like perhaps the DGP's side of Samas recruiting someone new entirely like Jit, it may happen without Daichi. I also felt that the part of keeping second stage Jamato alive is something that the episode cut short, but I think still too early to judge Ace's decisions here, though he does say that he seeks to find cure to them - but at least like what many KR series teach, all lives are precious, not just the many, the infected ones don't have any less right to continue living as the one getting attacked.

And you still can't spell her name right despite this.

What is your problem of bolding the forumer you refer to while making up this shit? Why making up these stuff? This is just like someone grasping on straws to insist that a villain is really not that bad, for various reasons (like perhaps them being their favorite, feeling conflicted to like such a horrible character, etc.), and just similar to you grasping on straws to discredit Ace's actions like donating money to Taira's son before. And all of these are just your headcanons, so this can be just taken with a grain of salt regardless of how bold you feel in these, you're just spouting nonsense, unlike my claim that is based on what's actually happened on the show. And regardless explanations (usual "tragic backstory for villain" stuff for Beroba there) aren't excuses.

Maybe it's extended to Beroba and Kekera too.... both being newfound partners, has some similarities by being the more terrible one among the supporters who feeds off others' misery, but I think has some contrastings as well in how Kekera supports a Rider who wants to revive killed Riders - Beroba supports a Rider who wants to crush other Riders, Kekera limits his wrongdoings in what is meant to push Keiwa's "development - Beroba pulls no punches in any kind of evil deeds even frivolous and petty ones for misery, Kekera views misery as something to develop people - Beroba uses misery to demoralize people.

The problem is that Ace is 2000 years old. As clich?d as "story-based" amnesia is, it's meant to allow a character to make mistakes without looking like an idiot. Nadge's type appears in every second anime, so it would be very naive to expect him to accept defeat and not harm anyone anymore. So it was Ace who pushed the dominoes of events, deciding to leave the riders with a memory. Well, from a story point of view, this is logical, because the main character cannot remain out of work in the show's biggest conflict.

I don't even like Beroba and I don't think my explanation is "tragic backstory". I just don't agree with the statement that she's the worst character on the show. It all started with Sueru, he is the supreme evil, more or less the impetus for all the characters in the show. And besides, he dresses in the style of the leader of the Shocker. After all, he conducted an interview when applying for a company, which means he should earn at least a good amount. So, Ace is great, but Takahashi didn't think about this plot for very long.

For that to happen, Revice would need a lovable character. :p Well, I guess there's Yukimi, my attachment bias would definitely make me a lot more mad about her death than anything for Chigusa or Yosuke. Of course, I'd also be pretty mad at Michinaga if Sara had become a victim of Heaven and Hell.

We should still consider the difference in motivation though, to determine who has more sympathetic qualities. While not inherently redeeming, this information can be used as a catalyst for redemption. Like Zea did for Gai, which gave him the opportunity to use his genius and wealth to atone for his past.

Olteca seeks validation for his genius. You claim his murder of Yosuke was to spite Tamaki, but I think it's more like he did it for the attention. Due to his father's abuse and induction in to Deadmans, he only knows how to get that by making his friends hate him. He's a tsundere villain, but as his toxic behavior is never addressed, he's denied any catalyst for redemption.

Daichi seeks the memories of all humanity. As his desire is too big to be granted by living honestly, he's willing to use any means necessary. The problem here is that characters have already given him a generous amount of chances to redeem himself and he keeps betraying and exploiting their trust. His plans are overly logical and thus they fail when someone inevitably makes an emotional choice.

If Olteca and Daichi swapped shows, I think the outcomes would be very different.

Those people seem to miss the point of Kekera by claiming they're like him. The sponsors are supposed to represent sides of the audience. Everybody's a little bit like Kekera in the sense that we need to see our characters suffer so they can grow from it. But most people aren't extreme enough that they'd orchestrate that suffering directly, or want them to suffer constantly. Kekera's vision of an ideal Kamen Rider seems to be stuck in the Showa Era, but beyond what even Ishinomori would force on a hero. You're right that proving Kekera wrong will be complicated. Even if he dies by Tycoon's blade, he may die laughing proudly at the Kamen Rider he made. How can such a person be punished?

Regarding the part about demonizing Keiwa, well, stay tuned for my thoughts on Episode 42. This is only the tip of the spear.

Michinaga doesn't have reality warping powers like Geats IX though and even with those powers, Ace can't do it with his Kirakira alone. If the Jyamafied people can't be turned back, right now, then Michinaga has to choose in the moment between letting them rampage on the gamble that they can be saved later, or destroy them to prevent further deaths. Maybe it's the wrong choice, but to have the power to protect people and neglect to use it would feel irresponsible to him. It's a burden every Rider has to endure, the reality that fighting will cause victims in some scenarios, but it's better than not doing anything at all.

I agree that Beroba isn't the worst, even though she's still a pretty terrible person. The future definitely has a serious cultural problem that allows these toxic behaviors to exist, as I doubt Beroba ever had anybody to teach her that making people suffer for entertainment is bad when this is exactly what the DGP did since obtaining Mitsume. Personally, I would give the acolade of worst villain to Daichi, as he's part of our contemporary moral culture and yet he still turned out like an unscrupulous traitor and serial killer.

Well no, obviously I don't meant for them to get Daichi redeemed or such (and I'd hope he gets what's coming to him and not a slap in the wrist outcome, and I'm worried about Kousei in the next episode). Though perhaps to control his behavior for others' benefit, it can be done in pragmatic villainy way (doing good/not doing bad out of their best interests, not due to standards). Or keeping him alive in leash to examine his lab to get more knowledge regarding it. What I'm thinking was that, they perhaps should look for a way to extract Daichi's intelligence or such (... like the opposite of what's Daichi doing of gaining others' memories) and use that knowledge to try creating something to cure them, taking over Daichi's lab too for speed.

Guess I have to back off a bit, and I gotta straighten things up a bit as I do forgot something regarding this, my evaluation of Beroba being the worst was a bit outdated. I thought of this before Suel came to scene. So to update that, Beroba now can be challenged for the worst person in Geats, though I still think she's a candidate, I think it'd be between Beroba, Suel (yeah he can be worse than Beroba, but I don't think it's fully certain yet), or Daichi like you said (though also again, his crimes escalating is a recent stuff). For future stuff, for sure there's definitely terrible eggs from that, but I don't think that I would deem all the future people as inherently terrible yet (maybe can still be similar like humanity in any era), because I've seen similar argument done to humans in out contemporary moral culture, but I feel those are nostalgia bias (usual present time hate stuff) - like in the past there's also "making people suffer for entertainment" stuff too, like decapacitating disliked person in gulliotine for everyone to watch.

I feel that it's not like Taira stopped his business when fighting in the DGP, he can ofc try to do both at once, counting on whatever that will work for him to cure the sick boy on time, though depends on his time management. Probably if Taira has collected enough money, he can retire mid game, which fortunately the DGP isn't like Rider War (where Sano suffered of this) of how there's a chance to forfeit, though with the DGP's consent (Hiroki in PunkJack special).

And there's also those who admit being Kekera, and want for Sara to die, because she's uninteresting (she didn't have much screentime before Hakubi) and if she dies there'd be one less boring characters in the show. But this is the reason why murder is a severe (but not the only one) crime, it can be a huge loss for anyone even if you don't feel the same, and really it shouldn't be taken lightly even in a fiction where it's rife of it; numerous villains who get slap in the wrist outcome due to "redemption". Regarding not that extreme of orchestrating, still dunno if they can't act on it (like not having power/position/etc.) or won't act on it.

I also think, some authority figures in places like school (who is considered right and know the best) are also like Kekera, they want to prolong the suffering of like, students, so that they can "grow", and deem those who break or object as mentally weak, especially done by the opinions of the outside who victim-blames, and I'm afraid that anytime, they can kickstart the idea that lets students suffer constantly so that they can further grow.
