Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind game announced
 

I am absolutely all in on a Power Rangers version of Shredder's Revenge.

I'd be all in too if it looked even half as good as Shredder's revenge.

"Back to the Beginning" like we haven't been getting nothing but MMPR nostalgia bait for ages now.

Hasbro should just sell if all they’re gonna do anymore is nostalgia bait. Universal, perhaps?

Wasn't entirely sure at the start but they really kept getting crazier and crazier as the trailer went so I'm cool with this.

You must not know hasbro?s long history of basically nothing but nostalgia. Transformers is basically just G1 and everything G1 adjacent. (G1 is equivalent to mmpr in case someone doesn?t know much about transformers)

They lean so hard on G1 that they take figures and characters from other TF series and G1-ify them.

This is all to say that being surprised that hasbro is leaning into nostalgia isn?t necessary. It?s basically their calling card.

Looks nice. Definitely reminds me of that TMNT game from not long ago that DreamSword mentioned. I wonder if the Green and White Rangers will be DLC.

Personally, if there's gonna be any DLC characters, I'd want Rangers from outside of MMPR. Base game should have all 7 Rangers from the getgo.

I was watching the first half of the show on a twitch channel stream and had just gone away for a minute or two, when I came back and sat down the trailer for this was just starting.

To say I got my headphones on sharpish is an understatement!
Not going to lie, this is something I never saw coming!

Their TMNT game had a couple unlocks, and the Tengu Warriors appear in this game, so I wouldn't be surprised if both the green and white rangers are already in it.
Since it's a retelling of the original series with new plot beats, I'd bet that completing whatever their revised Green With Evil story chapter will net you Tommy.

As for DLC, bring in rangers from either Once A Ranger or Dimensions in Danger.

Imma be real, I hate when all they can do with a franchise is lean on nostalgia.

It’s a shame too because in both power rangers and transformers, the amount of non-g1 material they can use is astronomical. As of late, people in hasbro have been pushing for more “nostalgia of other generations” and it’s been kind of a breath of fresh air. But it’s still just “g1ified” versions. It’s would be like release a power ranger lightspeed rescue figure but in the style of mmpr.

The idea of "Mighty Morphin-ified" Rangers from other seasons reminds me of an episode of Pawn Stars when someone came in with a Red Ranger statue, but it was Ninja Storm Red's helmet on a MMPR body!

Okay, according to what I googled, it seems these usually are like this but would later be dressed up in their appropriate suits when actually being used for events and whatnot.

Boom! Studios will be releasing a tie-in comic based on the Rita's Rewind video game this August.

Atari is launching the Rita's Rewind soundtrack in July 18 as a digital download through Steam, only for the U.S.
