The film will be a retelling of Begins Night, with Kenjiro Tsuda (Vail in Kamen Rider Revice) joining the cast as Sokichi Narumi/Kamen Rider Skull.

Fuuto P.I.: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull will receive a limited theatrical release in Japan on November 8th.

I'm 100% down with this, loved Fuuto P.I so more is always welcome. I'm going go guess that this will come to Crunchyroll at some point after it's release.

I hope this means a season 2 is on the way.

But an animated retelling of Begins Night and the flashback from War Core? That sounds great!

Decided to skim the foreign translated scans and this is most likely so we don't have to start Season 2 on a flashback sorta.

Since Volume 6, the volume after the Reactor Dopant Case is a flashback that consists of parts of Movie War Core, an original inbetween segment that actually shows us how Shotaro became Sokichi's apprentice, and a lot of expanding on Begins Night and how that happened.

That way whenever they do make Season 2 we can just get back to the action immediately with Volume 7 or whatever they decide to do.

Yeah, they're basically just carrying on from the last scene of the anime with Shotaro telling Tokime about what happened.

Looks fantastic! Also Satomi Sato reprising Saeko from Memory of Heroez.

I'd rather have season two than a remake of a movie I've already seen, but it does still look pretty good.

Well if we got a season two then we would have gotten a Begins Night repeat anyway if we kept adapting material for Fuuto PI in order. Portrait of S has some bits of Core, a chunk of original stuff, and an expanded Begins Night. Us getting this means we can hit Season 2 running without having to start with a flashback if they don't decide to just convert it into episodes to start off a new season.

Interestingly enough in this trailer is that underwater Dopant at around 30 seconds. Seems to be anime original as not only can I not find anything on the Rider Wiki in the Manga Dopant section, but in my brief skimming of the Portrait of S (to see what this arc covered) I did not see this Dopant whatsoever.
