Could Power Rangers work on Tubi?

I don't think so. Tubi is a great site, but I think trying to air an entire new season exclusively would be akin to giving it the morning death slot on Nick.
The number of views would not be there, and while PR has always thrived based on merch sales, Tubi wouldn't give it the reach needed to really help push the toys.

Tubi is limited to a few countries, and I don't think Hasbro would like to invest millions on a unaccessible TV show to promote an outsourced toyline (which I think it's the reason why they're not allowing more Sentai in the West).

Hasbro (assuming they keep PR) should introduce the Big Three principle: Transformers-G.I. Joe-PR. And so that all of them receive an equivalent (well, or less expensive, but similar product). New toys, movies, TV shows. Even if the same PRs initially lag behind (although I doubt that the Rangers are inferior in popularity to the army propaganda from the 60s), they will later gain strength and bring their loyal audience.

That's putting a lot of stock in the belief that anyone currently in the position to make decisions at Hasbro considers PR anywhere near as important as home-grown licenses like Transformers and Joe. I really do need to emphasize that executives are generally some combination of complete morons and wildly out of touch with everything around them.

And further, speaking as a lapsed Joe fan, I assure you that you are valuing G.I. Joe as a property far above anything Hasbro itself has done over much of the last decade. The toys are in the process of a small renaissance thanks to the incredibly dedicated team working on it, but the media support is nowhere near as consistent as Transformers, and barring an overhaul of the brand's image it's going to be very hard to make it stick for the current generation, just like 20 years ago.

Yeah, unfortunately Hasbro isn't really in a position to create a "Big 3" unless you mix brands that are too polarizing to each other. GI Joe has nowhere near the market pull it had back in the 80's, mainly thanks to the idea of war and terrorism no longer being just the "Red Scare" and now a much more in your face thing for children.

And it's been clear that the only one championing Power Rangers at Hasbro was the late CEO, so it's been thrown to the wayside now.

Honestly, Hasbro is going through a rough time with top brands. Other than Transformers and MLP, Power Rangers is dwindling due to lack of inside interest, WOTC brands like Magic and Dungeons and Dragons are bleeding because of stupid corporate decisions, and I can't see GI Joe making a true comeback.

It would be hard for Hasbro to make a Big 3 without integrating their licensed brands like Marvel or Star Wars, otherwise they'd have to make the odd decision of mixing their boys and girls divisions.

Yeah, as much as I'm impressed with the new G.I.Joe figures they don't click for me. Plus, they're too big, I love the small ones from back in the 80s. The rubber band waists are not a favorite of mine but in terms of scale they worked better especially when you bring in the vehicles and base playsets.
But to get back to Power Rangers I feel like it had its last hurrah for now back in the 2010s. It needs to go back to the drawing board and especially in the hands of people who care to get back on track.

An appropriate analysis, as there was an attempt at a GI Joe revival before the release of Transformers Prime which would've focused more on the adventure angle rather than terrorism cause the latter is all too real these days.

Speaking to the theme at hand, Tubi is not ideal enough... just yet anyway. It should be noted that many of the Old Saban and Disney seasons stream on demand and via the "Forever Kids" channel on Pluto.

Releasing direct-to-disc might be more conducive at attracting attention, and then one can try to use that as backing when shopping around for a more permanent streamer. "Straight to Video" doesn't hold the same stigma that it used to, despite the decidedly annoying trend for Big Box stores to abandon or reduce their physical media intake/output. One can also rely on one's own official website, cause the Disney and Neo-Saban Eras both had a tendency to temporarily play old or recently aired episodes on official websites in years past.

Tubi is free though. I think it would have more visibility.

Well, I think another thing is that Tubi would have to be willing to invest in it as well. Both Once and Always and Cosmic Fury had Netflix willing to split costs.

I do think there is a place for Power Rangers on Tubi, since it seems to be growing more than I initially though, however.

Why then not immediately on YouTube? Where all the shows except Cosmic Fury are already there. As has already been said, Tubi is not available in all countries, including those located in the PR zone, so to speak.

They should just upload new shows as youtube shorts. Quick like a yonkoma manga strip. Go Pop Team Epic with it. :lolol

But won't PR then turn into a modern version of Redman?

It's more of a question of accessability and given the fact that people are streaming on free feeds more these days I would say go for numbers and get as many people to watch as possible.

So I'd say try it on Tubi at least once.

Problem is they can't afford to just throw an entirely new production on a service that has no promise that they'll get a good return on investment. Even if your budget is a shoestring and a pack of gum, it costs a lot to make a TV show, and even if you've got Disney Money, Disney balks at the idea of throwing that much of it into the wind.

Yes, but for 30 years the franchise has literally driven into a swamp from which it is impossible to get out without risk and irrevocable investments. Here is a situation where PR's owner need to think ahead, like not eating during the day when a hearty banquet awaits you in the evening. Now they need to start, if not from scratch, then at least from ruins. But isn't this always associated with the risk of losing money?

Because the current crop of execs and more importantly, shareholders don't like risk. Risk means you could lose money, sometimes a little, oftentimes a lot given current production costs. It also means time and resources that could've been better applied to a surefire hit.

And that's how we got The Flash and Morbius while Batwoman got written off for taxes. These companies no longer exist in the same reality as the rest of us because the people at the top are so utterly detached from what they're actually supposed to be doing and making. All that matters is that Line Go Up.

And Power Rangers wasn't making Line Go Up enough when it was being produced for pennies on the dollar, so by that reasoning, why on earth would they ever spend more on it?
