Suddenly. This probably has something to do with the fact that due to LuPat this is the 49th show but the 50th team.

Two things pop into my head:

- Gozyu Drill/Gozyu Rex/Gozyujin.

- The P.R. Special that aired after Lost Galaxy's "Redemption Day" with Austin and Walter. It showed Zyuranger footage, but only Gorenger was referenced by name.

Just when I thought these Sentai names couldn't get any stranger lol.

Well, the use of numbers was actually expected. The main thing is that Toei does not decide to introduce fractions to its young viewers.

Indeed. Seeing how it's ゴジュウジャー and not ゴージュウジャー I agree that the number 50 might be emphasized somewhat because Japanese wordplay. Also, I can't help but think we will have a core five but no tsuika like Bun Violet or ToQ 6, but rather have a bangai much like VRV Master or Ninjaman. That is, unless they decide to add a tsuika and just have fun with the whole running gag of we're technically five rangers but this person is with us and we sure ain't hell rebranding as Rokujyuger. :lolol

Something else to note besides the number of Sentai is that next year is also the 50th anniversary of Gorenger. So either way, they are definitely making it known that we're having an anniversary Sentai.

If they get a dog and a bird as mascots or one of their additional mechas that would be a nice nod to Gorenger.

Power Rangers has 2 Q-Rexes and now Super Sentai will have 2 Gozyujins. :lol Slightly different pronunciation though.

Until now, I thought it was a hard rule that the word before the Sentai had to be written in kanji. Maybe the logo will write it as No.1 with furigana.

It's the same as ゴ in Goseiger, which had a Header as the Sixth. So maybe Gozyuger will follow the same principle. Sounds like you're referencing Shou Ronpou here where he suggests renaming Kyuranger as Zyuranger after he joined the team. The cool part is that Kyuranger makes sense even with more than 9 Rangers, since kyu also refers to kyukyoku, kyuseishu and sphere. Like how Gozyuger could mean both 5beasts-ger and 50ger.

Bird mascot was reused for Timeranger, Gokaiger and Zenkaiger. Dog mascot was reused for Denjiman, Sun Vulcan and Dekaranger. I want to see a new cat mascot!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as you in terms of the Gojyu of Gojyuger being a double entendre. As for Goseiger, it's different since the Gosei in Goseiger means "guarding the planet (in this case, Earth)" which explains the whole guardian angel thing they had going for themselves, thus the very likely reason why Gosei Knight is classified as a tsuika and not a bangai despite having the qualities of one, mainly aesthetically (and the reason why he was able to make it into the Gokai Cellular). And yes, I was referring to Commander Dumplings a bit. :lolol

I kinda want to see how their suit designs would look.

Really emphasise the Number One element, with each suit having a massive '1' representing each of their respective animal, or how each of them are 'The First Ever' for certain milestones.

It would be funny if the commander or whoever picks the rangers in the show is like I must find the best of the best and form a sentai team with these talented individuals, only to pick one really ideal ranger who is no.1 at everything and the rest are no.1 at things like flipping takoyaki, eat a lot, yo-yos, knitting, etc. :lolol

I assume you mean gojyukata? Gojyu in this case probably referring to the age of 50 and kata meaning shoulder in Japanese.

For the first time since Ohranger, when Goranger and JAKQ were recognized as official Sentai. I welcome the return to the status quo of celebrating the actual anniversary.

Huh, I didn't know that before. Then Gozyuger must be the first Sentai since Goranger to use the short ゴ in that way without it meaning something else. Gosei Knight's Knightick Gosei Power combines the powers of the 3 tribes, so I think it makes sense thematically for him to be the Sixth, despite him not exactly being a "Goseiger".

Then you may end up with a pretty dysfunctional Sentai consisting of Don Momotarou, Dorado Yellow, Gokai Red, Go-On Silver and Zyuoh The World.

At the same time, I am for the time being open to the idea of the team name also meaning guardian beast while mainly pushing the 5 beasts idea because of the inevitable nod to Gorenger and being sentai no. 50 for now.

Apparently, there's an "SG Ring" set up on Tokullectibles. Not clear on the manufacturer. Seems unusually early for it to be a Bandai thing. Maybe a third party trying to get a product out first?

It reminds me of the Inochi Sentai Gozyuger rumor. Seems like those rumors were at least partly right.

I guess it might include 5 color-coded rings for each Ranger and 1 to morph. Similar to Go-Onger's Engine Souls.

For the core mecha, yeah. Other than that, we have Engine Tyline, Tyranno Header, Gozyu Rex (the other one), Dinomaru and Smog Jouki.

You know what I would like to see make a comeback if they ever do double down on the Gorenger references? A variation of the Gorenger Storm or Hurricane.

Could it be that the rumored animals each represent the typical trait of the colors? For example, CMIIW, red is wolf. Wolf is known for the alpha and leadership, a trait shared by most red rangers.

If I recall, TOQger had a customizable finisher, not unlike the Gorenger Hurricane.

I was thinking more of the kicking the ball around part specifically. :lolol

Oh, man, I'm hope they're not going to take design cues from the Gorenger helmets. Zenkaiser's helmet... did not look great. I don't think I could take another year of terrible Sentai helmets after BoonBoomger.

But the wolf is a pack animal, and sentai is a team. So it seems to me that he is suitable as a leader, but not in terms of an alpha, but as the one who keeps everyone together. The way that actual lead wolves behave would be perfect for a red ranger: someone who cares deeply about the other rangers as not just teammates but family, who leads with experience and wisdom, and puts the well-being of the others before themself. Completely different from some wannabe tough-guy who calls himself an "alpha male" XD

Sorry if I'm getting off topic, I just find it really annoying how the experiment which spawned the idea of "alpha wolves" fighting for dominance wasn't even a real wolf pack, it was a bunch of unrelated wolves who were captured and thrown together, and lashed out at each other from the stress.
