Toei Files "Gavan Infinity" Trademark
https://tokusatsunetwork.com/2025/11...mark-revealed/
Supporting evidence, but NOT full-on confirmation, that a Metal Heroes revival is replacing Sentai for the foreseeable future. Interesting times, nonetheless. |
Hell yeah! Will Geki return and become Gavan Infinity himself, or will a protege take his place?
|
hell no why?
|
I'm honestly pretty excited, I think a modern take on Metal Hero could be a great compliment to Rider if they do it well. My only worry is that the show might err TOO close to the original Gavan with a name like that and just be a modernized retelling of the original rather than its own unique story.

I'm down for more Gavan. I'm curious what the "Infinity" will refer to.
|
Well, it’s not really clear yet what we’re talking about. As they write in the article itself, this may well turn out to be a film or a single show in order to hold off the year and test the audience for accepting new/remakes of old concepts.
|
I hope they just update the theme song and don't entirely replace it.
|
i don't know it can be a movie like what happen with mazinger z?

It matters not what this will ultimately be. A movie could be interesting as could a series. Is it sad that Sentai could be put on pause? Yes, but they've been going pretty much non-stop since Battle Fever J back in '79, so this does make some amount of sense especially since toy sales aren't going as far as they need to. It's been stated on one of these threads that this is similar to other tokusatsu franchises from Ultraman to Kamen Rider to Godzilla. We could point to many other things that have done the same, from Transformers to Doctor Who to He-Man to G.I. Joe to Digimon. Some keep going in a reduced capacity and others take a breather before getting back in there with something new and bold and fresh. We also have to consider that Gavan Type G was brought to us by a 2012 Movie alongside a two-part special crossover in Go-Busters. What if they flip that script and do a Metal Heroes revival series with a two-part Sentai crossover special which may or may not advertise a potential movie special centering on Sentai specifically? There is trepidation, but also intrigue and a host of possibilities. |

Here are all of the current rumors…
- Universe Heroes is the new brand. - SSS Gavan Infinity, the flagship of the Universe Heroes brand, is the series that will air in Sentai’s place in 2026. - The series will merge Sentai and Metal Heroes into a shared universe, combining elements of both franchises in equal parts. - The toy line is 100% Sentai, with a full line of Gattai Robos that are compatible with the Robo Universe joint system. - This is a totally new Gavan. - The structure of the cast is basically the new Gavan, in the role of the red ranger, teaming up with a female White Ranger. They interact with a group of rival sentai heroes, along the lines of Gozyuger’s “not-a-team”-team. - Some less solid rumors suggest all of the rival heroes are competing to collect monsters, similar to the Chemys from Gotchard. - This is being done so that Toei can leverage the show globally without Hasbro’s interference. They’re essentially reskinning Sentai concepts with Metal Heroes branding. This is how things are looking as of now. Who knows what will come to light over the next few weeks, but this all seems pretty believable to me. |

So, does the fact that the trademark has an English translation for the title mean anything? The kanji says Chou Uchu Keiji, but there's plain old Super Space Sherrif in there for us

I've seen some of the supposed leaks for this show, and if they are true it sounds like a show that takes influences from a lot of sources, but combines them in a way that isn't really like any other tokusatsu on the market right now. Exciting times!

A) It's a description of the very concept of a new franchise, and Infinity Gavan as a show (movie?) will be just the first part and a test of audience reaction. B) It's simply an attempt to unite and reconcile all the conflicting rumors gathered online. And therefore, it bears little resemblance to reality. |

Here is a writeup about it on Tumblr, sourced from Rangerboard: https://cina-full-moon-xanadium.tumb...gavan-infinity Take it all with a grain of salt of course, but I like a lot of these ideas even if it isn't really what I would expect when I hear "Gavan". Mecha augmentations for the human sized heroes are a nice touch that I've thought Sentai should lean into for a while and the duo hero thing is also a fun idea that the Metal Hero series used fairly often in one form or another. |
i'm down for more Gavan. was always surprised they didn't do more with Type G.
|
Well, the Gavan movie and Super Hero War Z flopped so that killed the momentum for more. I guess there was just enough goodwill for the Next Generation V-Cinemas, but I wouldn't be surprised if those were Sakamoto and Arakawa pet projects.
Space Squad was a bone thrown at Gavan's way to mark the 35th anniversary (and was mostly an excuse to bring back the extremely popular Dekaranger again), and the Kyuranger crossover only happened because the Zyuohger crossover was canceled. |

I doubt 2027’s Universe Hero show will be called Gavan. But will it be another Space Sheriff show? Or something else entirely? We just don’t know yet. That said, I’m decently confident this is the series we’re getting in the sentai timeslot once Gozyuger ends. |

The above excerpt is from a post on Discord. So, while it may not exactly be "Universe Hereoes", in a long, roundabout way, it is. Lol! |

Theres 2 kinds of shows called anthology shows in the west, and both have become very popular and also exist in japan: The first is shows like Twilight Zone, Black Mirror and Outer Limits, and many others in the west. Then in Japan, you have Neo Ultra Q and Tales of the Bizarre, among others. Early Tokusatsu superhero shows were almost identical to these shows, emphasizing single episode arcs. I think "Universe Heroes" might end up being something like this. We have a precedent already with the TTFC specials, but they can broaden this quite a bit to increase interest in the many series that already exist. The second anthology-type show is the American Horror Story, Channel Zero, "Haunting of", Them, etc. And Im sure there are tons of other examples but I'm blanking. Even Garo functions a little like this, where characters sometimes return but you also get totally isolated timelines or plots, prequel series, etc. A lot of these series tend to run for 8-12 episodes and then move onto a new story, and I'm starting to think this might be the case of R.E.D/Gavan Infinity. |
[QUOTE=Daikaijuman54;875027]First Teaser just dropped!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-uXVPccMn8[/QUOTE I'm not sure how I feel about the small logo on the helmet. It's a really awkward placement, in my opinion, and looks more like a trademark or a meme barcode on the forehead. |
I'll wait for a full look of the suit to share my opinion, but I've got a good feeling from the trailer!
|
Random thought. I wonder if anyone who is new to toku goes "MIGHTY MORPHIN' DAFT PUNK!" the moment they see that teaser, specifically the shot that highlights the visor. :lolol

My preference is for the silver form that matches classic Gavan better.
