Recent Purchases: 2026 Master Thread!
I see it is once upon me to kick this party off.
Therefore, I present to you my collection of recently acquired Cinema. https://i.postimg.cc/7LbpVQBP/20260101_185355.jpg |
Playing a lot of catch up, but finally starting to collect in earnest again!
https://i.postimg.cc/65ZgtqW3/IMG-9404.jpg Highly recommend the SHFUpgrade head for Faiz, but especially the LED heads for Kabuto & Kabuto Hyper, because the sculpts are impeccable, and honestly a much needed improvement on the official releases. The waist parts are also superb and give them proportions much more in line with recent Seihous. Happy to say the Hibiki waist replacement is equally, if not more, impressive. The colour matching is so close to perfect it's insane and only looks the tiniest, tiniest smidge darker in certain light at specific angles. The way it gradients from purple to blue in the same manner at the official 10th Anniversary version's paint is wild, and as it's using the sculpt from Armed Hibiki there is no longer an odd height discrepancy between the two. https://i.postimg.cc/4NvPW94x/IMG-9405.jpg The Tamashii Store Kuuga is the best version of Kuuga Mighty. Crazy how this sculpt still holds up so well, despite the advancements present in more modern Seihous, but the slightly different texture and more matte finishes really help it match the on-screen suit. Ryuki is as great as you'd think, same for Armed Hibiki, Xross Saber and Zeztz - just quality releases all around. https://i.postimg.cc/pTxXY4sF/IMG-9406.jpg These new Ichigou and Niigou releases are solid. Fabric scarves are always nice, and the way they've done the duller, more dust and mud-stained chests really do lend to the way they looked in the 70's from the show. (Now just make an 'Old' or 'Original Colour' Niigou and let these poor boys rest, Bandai) X is awesome and comes with so many good accessories. Stronger is exactly what you'd imagine, in the most complimentary way, and does everything they could realistically do with one of the most awkward suits for upper body poseability. I've still got a ton of stuff to get from the last few years, but hope they keep coming out with more of these beautiful bastards (Decade Complete 21, Bandai. Please release it. Stop laughing, I'm serious.) |
The Hibiki Seihous are figures that I really wish I had the extra space for, as it's a show whose first half I really love and the figures always look beautiful in photos.

I’ve got three things due this month, and two have arrived.

First haul of the year!
https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...7w&oe=697B2036 Infernal Girl Red Book 2: This is still my favorite series in the Massive-Verse, and I don't think there's much of a contest at this point. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...Ng&oe=697B156A Power Rangers Eternal Rangers: The final expansion to the PR board game. The box is surprisingly big. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...EQ&oe=697B09C8 Effect Parts: Fire and lightning effects by Can of Beams that are in no way inspired by anything specific. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...aQ&oe=697B1302 TMNT Ultimates! Wave 2: Just like with Wave 1, these figures are very much in the "good enough" territory for me. I wouldn't blame anyone who thinks they aren't worth the price, though. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...Bg&oe=697B1C4F Valaverse Praetorian Pyre and Wraith: Neat little variants. Not a fan of how the Wraith is packed like I bought someone's' loose figure off of eBay though. Should've come with its own collector packaging. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...Jg&oe=697B163A Ruby Spears Megaman Cartoon: The show isn't "good" by any means, but I do have a soft spot for it. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...Uw&oe=697B29E6 Acrylic Logo Stands: Really hoping that Dragon Ball Classic gets reissued at some point. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...cw&oe=697B203F SHF Shallot & Giblet: While I do agree with the community that these figures are overpriced, I don't agree that they are out and out horrid. The line as seen much worse, and in recent times at that. These two figures work for what they are. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...zA&oe=697B0F63 Recustom Lost Heroic Soul: A Super Saiyan headset for Bardock. With the announcement of the battle damaged Bardock figure, I decided to convert my old Bardock figure into a SS1 variant. And man, these headsets are really well done. Not only do they look great, but you have options to have or remove the headband, and the added hand accessories for holding the headband are a great touch. Highly recommend this set if you can find it. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...nw&oe=697B22B3 SHF UIS Goku: I've been rocking the Demoniacal Fit version for awhile now, but with the official release of the 4.0 Goku body, and my immediate disappointment in it, I decided I'll have the DF figure be my Blue Goku and this will now stand as my Sign variant. |
Got the first of a few preorders I’ve made for the next three months in.

Found this by mistake! Was at my local BAM, lo and behold, a big book on all things Tokusatsu from Insight Editions! Got it on the spot.
Strongly suggest it, cause even though it makes a few errors, it's still about all the concepts and franchises and even a few tangential entries which inspire Toku and have been inspired by Toku, like the tokusatsu-like elements used for the live-action Attack On Titan. This isn't a showboating reference piece which mentions Power Rangers every two sentences (but it is brought up cause that's just how the game is played). Everything from Big G, to Rider, to Metal Heroes, to Gamera. Even entries like Moonlight Mask, Zubat, and the controversial Toho film Half-Human (1955) are mentioned in some form or fashion. I haven't finished my copy yet (stopped short before reading the GARO section cause of timing), but I liked what I've seen so far and I think many people here will too. Adding the official link to sweeten the pot: https://insighteditions.com/products/tokusatsu |
There’s a theme to my latest purchases.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HAvGWzgb...jpg&name=small Also got this as my bonus, since it was a purchase from Kotetsu Toys and Taka, the guy who runs it, loves to throw in some freebies. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HAvGZ_Va...jpg&name=small |

One of These Things Is Not Like the Other
https://i.imgur.com/Cz1VEX7.jpeg Also, close enough, welcome back Gochizo! https://i.imgur.com/AtdZl6b.jpeg |
I also have a birthday haul!
https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...1Q&oe=69A04D42 Event Exclusive SHF Beast Gohan: People mocked it from the promo pics, but I promise you all that the paint job is way better in hand. Love the way this thing looks. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...XA&oe=69A0799F Air Studios Base Gohan Heads: Very well done. Love the hair sculpt especially. Will probably display my Teen Gohan this way now. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...yw&oe=69A04EC7 TK Custom Z Broly Accessory Pack: The new heads are way better than the original, and having hands that actually allow him to use his energy effects is a major plus. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...-w&oe=69A0545E Revoltech Mazinger Z: I love this thing. Revoltech's' ideology about articulation just works so well with mecha and I'm now very excited for their Great Mazinger figure. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...yg&oe=69A04E50 Kikaider Reboot: I felt this movie was just okay, but it's another step towards having all of the Kikaider media on disc. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...sw&oe=69A047A6 Zero-One Acrylic Stand and Clear Progrise Key: I might've maybe decided that Zero-One is my favorite Reiwa Rider show. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...Dg&oe=69A06E92 Fahrul Andrew Spider-Man Head: While it's not a major improvement over the MAFEX head, I still like it enough to add it to the display. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...QA&oe=69A06391 5-inch DC x Sonic Figures Wave 2: I was originally, going to pass on Shadow, but the single release lacks the light up gimmick, which I prefer. These figures continue to impress me, and I hope the main characters from the games get similar figures someday. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...cw&oe=69A0491B Bro Toys Ryu Hayabusa: I was very impressed with how this came out, and I actually prefer it compared to the Revoltech figure. Although they mostly make clothed figures, I might check out other stuff BroToys makes in the future. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...pw&oe=69A05F5B Sigma Studios God Slayer(Kratos): Fantastic figure of the God of War himself. I feel the face sculpts could be slightly better, but everything comes together very well. |
Some stuff from the past few months:
SHODO EXCEED 1: I was really intrigued with the updates this EXCEED wave would bring to the figures. The OOO pair look fantastic, or should I say SUBARASHI ! https://i.imgur.com/Ft1FXHR.jpeg MAFEX Magneto (Comic Ver.): I missed it on the first run, but Medicom has been reissuing countless figures recently. Majestic looking figure, highly recommend for any X-Men / Marvel fan. This is the definitive Magneto https://i.imgur.com/OwpRVwu.jpeg SH Figuarts Kamen Rider ZEZTZ: I run out of things to say every year because all the Rider figures come out really good. Zeztz is no exception. I was worried about the neck articulation because of the redesigned joint, but I can do the poses I want. Kudos to Tamashii for including the weapon https://i.imgur.com/FhGt8PR.jpeg SMP TimeRobo & TimeShadow: I usually only go for SMP of mechas I don't own, but TimeRobo is one of my favorites sentai toys so I could not pass it up. It was also the robot I most wanted to see get the SMP treatment, and by many accounts Bandai delivered https://i.imgur.com/XbXe0L6.jpeg POP! Elements Power Up: Funko's new line of effect pieces are surprisingly good. Not sure how well they'll scale with 12 inch, but they look good with smaller figs https://i.imgur.com/yb6BOxx.jpeg |
Ooo, that effect part does look nice. Might have to look into some myself.

Other things that arrived recently
My preferred proxy site is FromJapan. Through Mercari & Rakuten, I've been able to find more niche or older releases that the bigger import sites don't always carry. Stuff like Gashapon and candy toy figurines. https://i.imgur.com/sKl7Q5q.jpeg And sometimes there's incredible listings on Mercari, like a selling offering just the bonus parts from the SHF Kiva bike set: https://i.imgur.com/nnFargr.jpeg One of my other favorite places to browse is amiami preowned. I would say half of my early collection came from here. Through some incredible luck, I found this listing that looked too good to be true https://i.imgur.com/OPRCRHC.jpeg Shinkocchou Seihou - Rider 1 Sakurajima Ver. - Having missed out on the original release & reissue, one night I found a C-graded copy on amiami for a ridiculous discount. The reported issue was "loose upper torso", but in-hand the figure still moved great, was in excellent condition, and all the accessories were bundled in (even the spare antenna). I threw in another cheaper figure to eat up the shipping cost, so in the end it averaged out to an incredible value |
For the fifth time, I now have both halves of an SHT lineup’s main shows for a year (previous years were September 2018-February 2019, September 2020-March 2021, March 2021-September 2021 and March 2024-September 2024).

I got the Zein Card set a few days ago, and now I’ve got the Driver to use it with.

Alot of pre-orders came in this month.
https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...dg&oe=69CE7672 Toyrise Ryukendo: It's essentially a glorified basic figure, but hey, Ryukendo ended up being a show that I grew fond of, and I'm happy to have this on the shelf. The new Armored form looks cool too. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...eg&oe=69CE504E Mezco Samurai Jack: This figure is a real mixed bag. Aesthetically it looks nice and I love the accessory loadout, but his articulation is way limited for no good reason. It's mainly the ankles, for which there's really no excuse for them being so limited. I'd say get this figure on discount if you can. Definitely don't pay more than the original price for it. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...Pw&oe=69CE758A Figma 2B and A2: Overall great figures. Especially 2B who, while not perfect, is probably the best overall 2B figure we've gotten to date. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...BQ&oe=69CE4C42 SHF The Next KR-2 w/ Bike: Slightly improved from the KR-1 SRC, mainly due to the improved joint quality in the lower legs. Now we just need V3. https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...TQ&oe=69CE4AD0 Figma Other M & Prime 3 Samus Reissues: While these figures aren't nearly as awesome as Figma's' Dread Samus figure, they still hold up surprisingly well despite being so old. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...XA&oe=69CE5BC0 Jada Helmetless Megaman: It's a glorified accessory pack for the original Megaman, sure, but it's still a fun, well put together toy in its own right. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...fQ&oe=69CE581B Zone of the Enders Anime Collection: An underrated gem of a mecha anime, and a tie-in to a great video game series at that. It's not often you see a middle-aged father as a protagonist, and the story itself is great besides. https://scontent-ord5-3.xx.fbcdn.net...UA&oe=69CE6D00 Figma MGS2 Solid Snake V2: So here's the thing. Is this figure updated from the original? Yes, but barely. As a result, rather than feeling like something brand new, it moreso just feels like one of the nicer figures from about a decade ago. So if you're fine with that, then yeah, pick him up. If not, wait for Revoltech I guess. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...lQ&oe=69CE6097 Mezco Animated Series Batman & Joker: Reviews for both of these figures have been mostly negative, and having them in hand, yeah, I can see why. Both are riddled with problems, and given we now live in a world where 3rd party companies have proven that clothed action figures can be done so much better, Mezco doesn't have much of an excuse. But, are they the best figures of these versions of the characters we have so far? Yes, unfortunately. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net...Lw&oe=69CE6E36 Nendoroid Alastor: I unfortunately doubt we'll ever see proper action figures for Hazbin Hotel, so this is the next best thing. I hope this line continues with more than just Alastor. Would especially loves to see Angel Dust. |
I heard rumblings that another company is about to do Batman TAS figures. I can only speculate & guess either LPZZ or Inart ...
