Toei has launched a countdown for an unannounced Kamen Rider movie to celebrate the 55th anniversary. The countdown will hit zero on January 27th at 12:00 PM JST.

I hope Gotchard and Gavv will be involved, since they didn't get their Movie Wars.

Cool. I remember rumors that Hideaki Anno wanted to make a sequel to his 2023 film. The 50th anniversary was slightly spoiled by Covid, so we'll see how Toei celebrates the franchise's 55th anniversary.

I hope this is the big Reiwa team-up movie.

Part of me wonders if this'll be related to anything that the smaller series like Outsiders and Girls Remix have been doing. Although, if you ask me I'd want something that's like a new Showa era kind of film.

Recently, I watched a documentary about Gaia and I'd love to see something that's more Showa-esque, because I really loved ZO.

This is just my personal speculation, but I feel like Toei wouldn't be having a countdown if it were a tie-in to a TTFC project. Those are strictly for the diehard fans, and a publicity stunt like this is meant to draw in attention from casual audiences. Especially since this is being produced for the anniversary.

I think it's either going to be something related to the original series like Shin Kamen Rider 2 or possibly even an entirely new standalone Rider. It could also be a sequel to a popular series if they were able to bring back the cast, but those have typically been reserved for V-Cinext. It'd have to be something major like bringing back Takeru Satoh, Jo Odagiri, or Masaki Suda in order for it justify a full theatrical release.

They opened up a Poll on the site for people to pick from 11 titles to guess what the Project will be:

Considering all the word going around about potential Kabuto 20th filming alongside Kabuto being the only one to have the anniversary moniker and a lot of these titles genuinely being funny than serious (Be The Two lmao) I feel like it's Kabuto that's the real one.

If it is Kabuto I would LOVE to see a new rider, hopefully based on a flying cockroach hahaha

Will they get Hiro Mizushima back, have Kagami be the protagonist, or a new Kabuto (successor to providence?).

I'll just turn my suspicions up to maximum and assume that the anniversary Kabuto was specifically added to distract attention from the real hero.

Who knows, maybe they're going to throw out a curveball and announce that more than one of these are correct? All I know is that if it is just one project, it 1000% is the Kabuto 20th anniversary movie.

So, the Website now has what I assume are promotional videos up for some of the Movie options. (I can't actually see them cuz Region Locked of course.)

That said, I can at least view the thumbnails by clicking around, the ones currently being teased along with a cast member of the show there to hype it up are:

The comeback we deserve!

My personal hope is that Ghost gets a movie. It is Ghost's 10 anniversary after all.

Apparently the actor in each video is supposed to be the star of the movie.

So um... two supporting cast characters, a character who was already the star of a V-Cinema, and the secondary Rider of their show. Ngl if the others follow a similar pattern of minor characters/characters that have already starred in V-Cinemas, it's probably gonna be Kabuto 20th.

Not going to lie, it would be pretty funny if Castle Smash got a Rider form with a retooled from Grease Perfect Kingdom. Literally just take off the Stag Beetle and owl pieces and you got a Castle Transformation item right there.

Speaking of which, a castle/fortress/palace-themed rider is a fantastic idea. That is, there are a bunch of riders and final forms themed around monarchs, so it's a great way to avoid repetition and create potential for crossover jokes. The only question is, what will his motorcycle symbolize?

You know, when I made this joke offhand half a decade ago...

...I didn't expect it to ever come even this close to being a reality. Either someone at Toei has the same sense of humor as me, or I'm accidentally willing Rider projects into existence again. :lol

Is it bad that I want all of these to be real?

Nope. Totally natural.

I'm actually leaning toward that being the case. At least for the ideas that have received trailers. It's just that most of them will be made into special short films, and only one full-length feature movie. They might even be shown together in theaters to celebrate the anniversary (and stretch out the running time).

Okay so there are absolutely more than just one movie being made more than likely. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the movies that got "Support Videos" are actual movies.

People have already seen filming and casting calls for the Kabuto movie.

I did not have a new Agito movie planned, but this is sick. It's a full on theatrical release too. This is dope.

Very cool! Even in such a small video you can feel the scale and high-quality work done. It is immediately clear that such a film deserves a big screen.

But that mean "Kamen Rider Build: Be The Two" is the real name.

You say this as if ridiculous names haven't been a thing in Kamen Rider before.
