"Neon: Cyber Uprising" Kickstarter funded, gets "Project We Love" stamp
Link to Kickstarter here.
We have another Toku comic on our hands, this time done by an indie team. Takes inspiration from various toku including Kamen Rider and Metal Heroes. Looks interesting! I backed it and will be sure to read it once it's in my hands. |
Looks quite good. Always nice to see Toku-inspired comics. I’ll probably back for a physical copy if the international shipping isn’t too bad.

The funding period has ended, and the comic reached nearly twice its original goal!

They recently sent out the PDF version of the first issue to Backers, and that includes me, so I gave it a read!
Overall, I liked it. The art style took a little getting used to for me, but I did overall dig the general neon cyberpunk aesthetic that they were going for, with some panels looking especially stylish. And yeah, you can very much see the Kamen Rider influence present within this whole thing, most prominently Build and Zero-One. Heck, this whole first issue was handled similarly to Build's' first episode in terms of pacing and introducing the core world and the story's' concepts. It's nothing super incredible, but it is a fun introduction to these characters and the universe they inhabit, so if you're at all interested, I'd recommend checking it out. |
