BOOM! Studios' 2nd PR Kickstarter: "A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration"
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...in-comic-books
Kickstarter Exclusive hardcovers of all the oneshot graphic novels they've done up to now, as well as complete collections of the oldschool comics by Marvel and Image Comics. Something to note is that if you want hardcover collections of specific arcs, you can get those as add-ons. This even includes the entirety of GoGo separated into two big volumes. Wish they had the collector's' box as an add-on though. |
If this includes the Youngblood/Zeo crossover, I'll chip in.

Not only is it the first recorded instance of Zeo-Fighters (the jets from Ohranger that were glossed over in Zeo), but at the end of the video, Linkara teased a review for the lost Zeo/Youngblood teamup. I say lost, because the only evidence pointing to its' existence are 1. A listing in a magazine, 2. A teaser at the end of Issue 2, and 3. A few uncoloured pages. |

Two issues would suggest that they didn't have the license for long and the issues must not have sold well. Cancelled after two definitely sucks! I do know that not everyone likes the infamous Liefeld style, but I can take it or leave it. I do think the Ohranger Jets were seen very briefly in the Zeo episode "The Shooting Star", but the fact that they have a "canonical" inclusion is something else. What magazine was this listed in, and where does one find these uncolored pages? Shame this never happened. Not like BOOM! and Image would do a collaboration with Hasbro's blessing. Or would they? |

Why does Boom Studios need a kickstarter?
|
I ask that a lot from Hasbro and Mattel. But with Boom Studios, it makes a little more sense. They're not a big publisher like Marvel or DC, and they're releasing a niche title for a niche audience.

The new comic series was revealed to be on co-written by Amy Jo Johnson. Makes me wonder if this is what became of that one idea she pitched awhile back about a comic special following the MMPR cast decades later.
