I'm just going to post my thoughts on UltraMan X here rather than in the other thread. Also if anyone torrents, you can find this on Nyaatorrents.
UltraMan X Episode 1: Well this was pretty good. I like the Spark Dolls being used again because I like them in Ginga and they are used pretty good here as a part of the story. I love the armor of the Xio suits that's cool. I like how they are working on trying to create replicates of the Monsters to fight them even if they didn't get it right it was interesting that they were close. Daichi is a fun main character and it's intriguing that X himself is interacting with him because the last few UltraMen series I've watched the UltraMan never really spoke to the host. X and Daichi's chemistry is very fun reminds a lot of Shinnosuke and Mr. Belt and that might be what they were going for. Also Daichi being afraid of heights and looking down when he transformed for the first time was priceless, it was one of the most hilarious moments of this episode. The main team of Xio seem like interesting characters so far; Asuna is pretty kickass the female lead. The fight scenes were awesome I love the action from UltraMan in general and the Digital/Tron/Computerized effects of the blasts, the inside of X, and powering up X just looks amazing visually. This episode was really solid for me. I can't wait for more and I'm happy to be watching the newest UltraMan now too! |
I watched the first episode of Ultraman X and now I remember why I stopped watched Ginga: The gimmicks are just too stupid. I don't know why since it's rarely bothering me in Rider, but the whole thing with the dolls and cards seems awfully cheesy in Ultraman.
Honestly I think this would work much better if they ditch this stuff and have it classy again, just a guy fusing with an Ultra and transforming into Ultraman. But toy-sales is what keeps these shows going, so... Also I wasn’t too impressed with the actors, especially the younger ones. Kaiju-wise this was top-notch, I loved the battle at the end and the pose for the Ultra-beam. But that was about the only thing I enjoyed. |
That was a fantastic first episode. I want more new monsters!

Can't wait until the week is over so that free users can watch it. I'm even tempted to pay premium. :lol

It's such a pain having to wait a week. Maybe I should get Premium. :lolol |

Watched the first episode of Ultraman X just yesterday. I really wish they'd just drop the Spark Doll gimmick already, but it was otherwise quite enjoyable.
Possibly my favorite bit from the first episode is when we see what everything looks like from an Ultra's perspective. Pretty cool stuff. :thumb: |
This is going to be the longest week of my life...

No subtitles, but Tsuburaya put the first episode of Ultraman X on their Youtube channel:
Here. Make sure you watch it on Crunchyroll as well though! |

Saw this not sure if it's for a movie or not but it looked pretty cool. |

Tsuburaya is doing some interesting stuff lately.

First episode of X is wow! I've always admired Tsuburaya's toku effects, and X is no exception. The scale of the monster is realistically intense, and the fight was heart-pounding. Tsuburaya continues to do possibly the best giant monsters on TV!

Okay, so my cheap, anime-indifferent ass finally got to see this on Crunchyroll. I freaking loved it. This feels exactly like a proper Ultraman show - in fact, it reminds me a lot of Max, which is very much a good thing. It's a real pity that this is just a miniseries and not a full show.
The only thing I'm not really feeling is the inclusion of the Spark Dolls, which still look incredibly cheap. X looks amazing, though, and I like that he has a voice and can communicate with Daichi. I'm used to the Ultra either posing as a human or being a mute giant. It's pretty cool to see a third option. |
I'm really happy that people are watching Ultraman X.

And yes, the angle they went for X and Daichi is very welcome, I'm glad each of them have a proper personality instead of one overriding the other. |
UltraMan X Episode 2: I love the alien Doctor that was introduced in this episode he's a whole lot of fun. This kind of reminds me of Go-Busters merged with UltraMan from the aesthetic of it. Also the three colored vehicles too; I love that they are named after the Three Musketeers. Daichi and X are such a fun pairing, X having his own personality really makes a different here, lol watching Ginga at the same time as this I'm like X is Taro's son right? lol He reminds me of him. Daichi's fear of heights is so much fun too. I also loved when Daichi used the Card to power them up and X was like wait what are you doing? So much fun. I also like the moral thoughts this brings up like is it right to kill the monster even with it's egg and how the aliens might have their own goals and they might not be as heroic as they think they are. Honestly this series is really good right now and I can't wait for more.

Episode 2 was another really good episode. But man, Birdon is a dorky looking thing.
|
Ok, only seen Ginga in terms of other Ultra series and only the first episode of this so far but I'm liking it. The two of them communicating is a nice dynamic and the show seems pretty cool thus far.

So how long is X? I might binge it when it's over, if I like it.

Just watched Episode 2, it was awesome. The Kaiju-battles are fantastic, and the CGI isn’t too common to be annoying. Next episode with the night-setting looks pretty sweet as well.
Man I hope they do an Ultra-Act of X, I really want one. |

Watched the second episode of X and it was absolutely fantastic. The show still looks great, the humor in it is very understated but still has some great lough out loud moments and the storys are interesting as well. Especially in this one where the Xio crew was confronted with the decision to kill a pregnant Monster and if they had the right to kill an unborn Kaiju.

Yeah, X is my first Ultraman series, and I already love it. I think I'll check out Ultraman Nexus afterwards. :)

So I just finished UltraMan Ginga. Out of the series that are subbed what should I watch next?

It's a shame none of the "bigger" subbing groups like Over-Time or TV-Nihon have touched it, because from what I saw of it, Ginga S is a pretty cool show. At the moment I'm watching and enjoying Leo. It's the oldest series I've watched. 21 episodes watched so far. I might dive into Mebius or 80 afterwards - of the shows on Crunchyroll, I've only finished Max - possibly delving into Nexus or Ultraseven X after those. |
