I did hear about Voyager Ironhide! I was also absolutely dumbfounded by it given we just got him in Earthrise. I imagine like Starscream he would just be that toy with a bunch of accessories to bump him up a size class but... but what accessories?? Starscream you obviously give his coronation gear, but what will they give Ironhide/Ratchet; and at that something appropriate for the line that strives to be accurate to the movies? An alternate torso with a hole in it to represent his lifeless corpse?

It would be legitimately hilarious if the only retail-release Ratchet or Ironhide to come out is a grey Killed In Action version.

Still, I'd think they'd skimp on the accessories and do a completely different sculpt. The Earthrise one is great, but it's not the '86 version to the same degree that all of the other Studio Series ones are. I'd expect an all-new figure.

Same. They'll be new molds, but it will be difficult to make them different.

I think Ratchet had double guns in the movie, so we'll probably get a trigger-happy doc of a figure! He and Ironhide didn't use their base accessories in the show often (Ratchet had his for two seconds before that "Hauler pulls Hound up" in the beginning), but theoretically, we'll get figures which merge the design aspects of the toys and the animation models in a manner similar to the Masterpiece versions. If we're lucky, Ironhide might get that "Van Gun" which Bumblebee used in the series. It would be kinda cold if Ironhide has a "ruined back" design to echo his wound before Megatron's "Such heroic nonsense!" line!

I'm curious how far this will ultimately go. What figures from the OG series/86 Movie would you want?

As someone who's gotten pretty tired of the overly-fussy engineering of the Masterpiece line, I'd love for Hasbro to do anyone/everyone in the Studio Series line. I would sincerely be into a SS86 Devastator. Gimme everyone from the early battle scene, no matter how minimal the cameo was.

Ideally, this would allow the mainline Generations stuff to concentrate more on other continuities (Unicron Trilogy, Beasts, Prime, RID) and HOPEFULLY brand-new, modern takes on classic characters. Gimme a 2022 from-the-ground-up design for Prowl, or Ironhide, or Megatron, and then do the classic designs in Studio Series.

I get the feeling they'll do Hound at some point since he's the only Siege figure to not have gotten a subsequent Earth Mode figure (who wasn't always a cybertronian mode character like Impactor, Shockwave or Chromia), based on his glorious two seconds in the background of Optimus' Iconic Moment. Recreate Hound just standing there!

Thing about Ironhide is that he basically had a new gadget every time he did something.
His twin pistols, his larger cannon, a missile launcher, jetpack, a sonar dish in his arm, and his hands tended to swap into different nozzles to fire different types of liquids at times.

All that and a possible battle sled, and yeah, it's super easy to beef up Ironhide's price point :lol

True (and that's basically why Masterpiece figures are so expensive these days: every accessory the character ever used in the cartoon), but the Studio Series 86 figures have so far kept the accessories to just what the character used in the movie. Hot Rod has a ton as the movie's main character, but I gotta think all of the 84 guys who get offed in a crowd scene are just going to come with a gun.

Well, it's entirely possible that it's a new mold, then. Because unless they bloat the release with random crap from the show (Or give him his swivel chair from the shuttle when he died), I don't know what they could do to make him a Voyager release

Yeah, I was thinking in terms of how Studio's goal is always "recreate these exact Iconic Scenes from the movie!!" when it comes to accessories, so that's what was confusing me about Ironhide. All the guy did was stand up and get shot!

Starscream is getting a throne (which he didn't actually sit in), so maybe Ironhide will get a monitor and chair so he can be so bored his "... circuits sizzle"!
