I've only seen the two-part premiere, so my thoughts at present are absolutely just based on previews and hearsay.
The Decepticons were my biggest concern since they're all just so... weird. I'm not opposed to the different take on Cons (I want a new beast show, and this kiiind of goes there...) and some come across pretty neat, but most are just an ugly "weird" and come across as far, far too eccentric. And they seemed to be literally going for a monster of the week approach to the show, which I'm not down for at all either. But besides being a bit too much of an 80s/90s pro wrestler, Underbite wasn't really too bad of a start. |
Can't say I'm honestly that impressed with RID so far. I appreciate the direction it's going in but it just isn't for me, nor am I a fan of the animation style.

So found my DL of tv nihons subs of transformers victory. It a season I been meaning to watch. Plus my MP star saber son the way

That trilogy set annoyed the hell out of me. I had the three separately and then they made it the only way to get Zone. It's the only piece of G1 I don't have on DVD now.
|
I bought Victory on it's own for like 20 bucks sealed on eBay, because of MP-24 as well.
The show isnt bad but not really good either. |

What time does it come on?

Soundwave in TF Prime is quite fun. It's a shame that, as a character, there really isn't much to him, so bringing him back for RID wouldn't yield much.

Like Kiwami said -- Cartoon Network. "Also the answer of the future question on why this show got axed in the middle of season two." |

And if a book can give such a good foundation to this character in a few sentences there is not much excuse that the show couldn’t use him for more than the role of Megatrons watchdog. I liked him in the show too, but aside from the silent badassery there isn’t anything that makes him stick out more from other Soundwaves. Animated is still the most original attempt on the character I've seen to this day. |
soundwave is awesome
all Versions quite simply especially when he gets a cameo in a show he hasn't apeard in yet. *looks at sideways* |

It's always been a double edged sword with the silent watcher type characters. They keep themselves mysterious and interesting by not being a constant chatterbox and not getting into every fight possible, but it also means, as a real character, there isn't much meat to them. Animated Soundwave is still my personal favorite, but Prime Soundwave feels more interesting. Quote:

It really was :lol

did no-one understand what I meant?

Aw, I thought Cybertron Soundwave was great :lol

I really hope Hasbro drops the whole "Aligned Continuity" mess once this new series has run its course.
They claim now that Prime/NuRID take place in the same basic universe as the War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron video games, but there's no way the characters can fit properly based on the histories shown in both versions... |

I pray they drop this whole "Aligned" thing. It's tedious and the series hold so little in common with WFC/FOC that it's pointless.
Anyway, Miko is kind of like Scrappy Doo, except with a death wish. I know she's an adrenaline junkie, but good god. It's like she's actively trying to die. |

It does seem like RID has loose ties to the Aligned Continuity series before it. A bit of a breather since Aligned Continuity didn't blow up the way Hasbro intended. |
Would anyone else want another Transformers anime?
