The problem with the Gavan movie was that it felt... too safe. Like, they were writing a story that was basic (and it sometimes forgot which genre it wanted to be), and not exactly a GAVAN movie....

Honestly, Gaoranger was pretty okay. The only horrendously awful thing that sours the series for me is the idiocy that happens way later in the show. Other than that, it's enjoyable.
