I imagine they want to do much of the same in this flick, have a rag tag group of characters from each of the recent series that becomes the central focus of the overall story. I don't think it has anything to do with how poorly Gobusters performed at all.

Think about it. Would we be getting a Gobusters V Cinema if that was really the case?

Even with your example from Super Hero Taisen Mk.1, the other Gokaigers were still there(though Luka, Ahim, and Gai appeared sparingly). These scans suggest that Yoko, plus that weird Buddyroid thing and possibly Usada(BTW the OP must have missed him, he's in the shot to the right of Gavan kicking the squid guy), are the only Go-Busters characters to return.

And that V Cinema is a mystery in of itself.
