SPD is a vastly superior series by comparison. They arrested their criminals rather than kill them on the spot.

I just accepted this as Dekaranger takes place in a universe where capital punishment is the norm. Most of the criminals they execute have ridiculously over-the-top rap sheets, too, including things like destroying multiple planets or leaving bodycounts that number in the millions.

Besides, the capital punishment angle ultimately leads to episode 37, which is one of the most amazing half hours of Super Sentai ever.
