I have to agree. One could argue that Carranger was inspired by Turboranger (or so I've heard) and that was the reference or the writers were just making the joke that the Gokaigers couldn't tell the difference because they're both car themed. Considering they make that same joke at least 2 more times after Gai joins, I think the latter is very likely.

Not saying it can't be PR reference, but that might not have been the intent. Btw, as someone that hasn't seen Go-Onger, can anyone that has confirm the cuff spinning attack reference? Just curious because it's rare Sentai references PR at all.
