I persoanlly thought iron man 3 was/is the best Marvel film so far. I loved the twist, it's clever and I feel that a lot of people are possibly missing the point.

To me they had to make Trevor into such a joke to show how he couldn't have planned any of it and that it was Killian's doing. As Killian says, he's been the Mandarin all along, Trevor is just a magic trick, an illusion to throw Tony off. Heck if he had time and wasn't so concerned with preserving his image he would of probably donned the cloak and everything too (hence his dragon tattoos) To me he was the perfect mandarin minus the magic, he's every opposite to Tony. His tech controls him and can kill him, Tony's saves him and he controls it. He breaks Tony down to virtually nothing, whilst hiding in the shadows, Tony is of course very out in the open. Etc. etc.

Just my two cents, think a lot of people are basing it on image alone.
