As mentioned in Marc Handler's interview, the Story Editor plays an important role in the process. James pushed for more originality rather than the standard translation of Shinkenger and Goseiger. If you liked Super Samurai and/or Megaforce, then James might be missed. At the moment, it's unknown whether he was replaced by the original Story Editor from Samurai Season 1 or if they found someone else.
