(And already a good one from Phil Harrison, the corporate VP at Microsoft, has come out.)

What I have gathered is that, assuming you can connect to the Internet to sign in, you can sign into your Live account on any Xbox One. Your account is not tied to a particular system. Which sounds like a vast improvement and something I have wanted for quite a long time.

But, you will still need to be in your account that first purchased and activated the game to use it.

If the friend whose Xbox One you were playing on wants to continue playing the game, short of letting him sign in as you, he will have to purchase the game. It is not at all a fee. It's a legitimate purchase. It's not the same type of sharing that is possible now, as Phil Harrison claims, with disk sharing - because they won't be able to play even with that disk unless signed into your account or purchasing it themselves.

It's more limiting than what we are used to, yes. But it does not sound nearly as horrible (to me) as some are making it out to be.

Unfortunately, the always-online bits are still somewhat unsettling. But it still does sound like you will simply have to be online for the extended entertainment purposes, not for everything.

That's my current take on everything and what I'm sticking to for now or unless definitively proven wrong. We're promised a future official announcement, which is why everything is so conflicting today; they never intended to address these issues.
