Thing is, Michael Bay was established long before Transformers. He's not using Transformers' adult fandom to capitalize on trying to make it big, he's already there.

But see, now you're quoting facts over opinion. I think all three Transformers movies are fantastic and I can't wait for the fourth one. Even with all you mentioned above, it's good for a quick laugh that in the grand scheme of things, no one really talks about when others who haven't seen the films inquire about it.

For example, when people ask me how ROTF was, I don't tell them "oh, there's a ball joke in there" I tell them it was great and action packed and at parts can be comical. But if you're hanging on (forgive the pun) the testicle thing, as a downer for ROTF, you should probably look outside the box at the rest of the movie.

But here's the thing. There's not a real adult Power Ranger fanbase, not compared to other franchises for sure. Not only is his heart in the wrong place, but so is his mind.

Power Rangers was meant to be and has always been campy and cheesy. Turning Power Rangers into Nolan's Batman isn't really going to get him where he wants to go.

The guy has admitted that he doesn't know much about Power Rangers beyond MMPR. Granted, that's the focus of his film, but the mythos is in all of Power Rangers. Since MMPR was the jumping off point and by far the cheesiest and campiest series of them all, why try to change that?

I guess my question here is, with the stuff that you looked down on in Transformers, and that's what makes up Power Rangers (sans the ball jokes of course, but the campy, cheesy portions of it) then why do you care about this film so much? Because it's not cheesy and instead grimdark?
