Metal Gear Solid and I have a complicated relationship. Metal Gear Solid, I absolutely loved. Twin Snakes was better, but the original will always hold a place in my heart. While Sons of Liberty was kicked to the curb, and it knows why. But then he came back with Snake Eater and forgave him. Until he laid four at my feet like a smelly log.

I hated SoL. And it had nothing to do with Jack, like you might think. The gameplay was solid but the story made absolutely no sense, was convoluded and confusing, and Emma... Goddamn you to Hell, Emma Emmerich. Not only did I have to carry your ass through half of the Big Shell, but then you go and get your scrawny ass caught by Vamp. Fair enough. Drama is what MGS does has a series. But then there being no way to save you? Making my carrying your worthless scrawny ass through forty minutes of gameplay meaningless? Yea... That pisses me right off.
